About GMC Canada

GMC is a division of General Motors, one of the largest North American automakers based in Detroit, Michigan. The company is known for its trucks, full-size SUVs, vans, and buses. The brand name was derived from the General Motors Truck Company after the purchase of the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company in 1909. The current product line consists of an Acadia, Canyon, Savana, Sierra, Terrain and Yukon. GMC trucks are similar to Chevrolet trucks with some minor differences in badging, standard features, and aesthetics.

The Acadia is a full-size crossover SUV that shares the same platform as a Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave. It was first introduced in Canada in 2007 and has won numerous awards and recognition since then including, Best Buy by Consumer Digest in the Midsize SUV segment, a 5-Star overall vehicle safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Top Safety Pick 2011 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The Sierra pickup truck line is a top seller with the current model line consisting of the Sierra 1500, Sierra 1500 Denali, and Hybrid. The vehicle is loaded with technologies including, an Ultrasonic rear parking assist system, an Autotrac electronically controlled transfer case, and power assisted brakes with Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP). It is also considered to have the best in class 4x4 V8 fuel efficiency with an available 5.3-litre V8 Vortec engine.
