I received 10/10 customer service from the guys in the service department today! I've never dealt with them before and I am new to town, they helped me with a minor issue that was causing me alot of stress with no fuss and a smile on their face. Thank you :)
It's hard to not be frustrated when you get stung with a huge bill for a mechanical failure, but I certainly can't fault the service at Castlegar Toyota. The staff are excellent. Special thanks to Kai, hope they are paying you enough for what you do! Thanks for going above and beyond.
Worst experience ive ever had. Sold me a lemon. Said the car battery was low, it had a misfire. The service tech lied as well. I wouldnt go back there to use a toilet
They were honest with me about the pricing and ETA with no markups and no pushing extras. They just explained the options and showed me through all the car's features. Recommended
Brought my 2016 Tacoma in for a service, 59000 kms. The service was fine, when I picked it up the were attached quotes on things that were required, totaling almost $9000! I freaked out, thinking I had a lemon on my hands. when I got in touch with the service manager after a weekend of worrying, he said the items mention all were given priority rating from 1 to 10 and some items were of low priority and not to be done for some time, spark plugs were due in 40000 kms. I was leaving on vacation the next week and was very unsure if the vehicle was road worthy. Would have been nice if they had explained more on the quotes, Not sure why they do business this way

I was the first to place a deposit on a new model with this dealer. After several months the cars were getting close to release they were essentially ghosting me with little or no info provided and my inquiries were not being answered. I finally got in touch with the sales manager who informed me that cars were on the way but had been sold to others despite my place as number 1 on the list. His pretext was that the car coming was a different colour and spec than what I had wanted. I told him I would accept the first car since the spec I wanted could be years out if it was ever available. He refused to honor my place at the top of the list. These people are sleazy go elsewhere.
Disappointing. Service has been going downhill over the years. Always pushing for more and more maintenance with oil changes. Prices for servicing have also gone up dramatically. Easily $500+ each maintenance every 6 months when nothing was wrong with the vehicle beforehand.
Final straw was when I asked for them to fix my window wipers since replacing my front window shield it only had max speed available and the intermittent speeds no longer worked. They charged $100+ just to diagnose it and tell me new cars have rain sensors and my rain sensor was scratched. By diagnose they literally took out the owners manual and read it. Technicians even left the owners manual on the passenger side seat instead of putting it back in the glove box. To put the cherry on top of the cake they said the sensor would cost $1000+ to replace, just to get the intermittent window wiper speeds back.
Last August, I had an issue with my 2011 4 Runner. Thought at first, transmission. Diagnostic was performed codePO303, #3 cylinder coil. Coil was fried due to oil in the spark plug tube.extra time was required due to part of coil stayed on plug. #3 coil replaced and all plugs. One year later, same issue. Decided to replace all the remaining 5 coils myself. Lo and behold #3 coil soaked in oil including another on the other bank. Upon further research found that the only way oil enters the spark plug tube is thru the tube seals, which requires the valve covers to be removed and seals replaced. This apparently is a common problem with age/mileage. I feel Castlegar Toyota absolutely knew how oil got in tube and failed to disclose this info subsequently expecting me to-return to have this repair done a second time. It was stated that “Oil bypassing spark plug itself”. So tell me how does so much oil go upwards from the combustion chamber? Deceitful and misleading. I will not return.
Really not impressed by the service department. Paid for a pre-purchase inspection and after 2 days and 5 calls still haven’t received the report. Makes me question how reliable and competent the service is? Will not be bringing my car here!

I bought a 2021 RAV4 here and have been waiting over 4 months for parts. I have been given FOUR different ETAs now that have all not been upheld and even though I bought the car from here they say they are not accountable because the parts have been ordered from a Toyota that is under 3 hours away and one phone call away from them. I am not sure how you can spend over $30,000 on a vehicle somewhere that can be no longer accountable for it. I am now moving away from cranbrook in less than a month with no end to this horrid treatment and neglect in sight. Someone needs to track down these parts or replace the vehicle before I move on April 27, 2022 or I will be taking legal action.

Ordered a pre-purchase inspection, Castlegar Toyota gave the results to the car owner instead of me even though I paid for the inspection. I didn't get the results until the owner sent them to me. I also have not been supplied with a receipt...bad business!
