I bought my 2006 Jetta from the Volkswagen dealer in Sault Ste. Marie a few years ago. I was told nothing was wrong with it, but since I bought it, I’ve had absolutely nothing but problems. I’m writing to you to specifically talk about my experience today, where I had to replace the instrument cluster in my vehicle, which only had approximately 68,000 km before I took it in. I was told that they could replace it with a used instrument cluster, but no further information. I called today to find out the vehicle was ready, so I went to pick it up to find approximately an additional 100,000 km on my vehicle. This was done without my knowledge. So in summation, I received an old part from a junkyard and with a 30 day warranty, that had 30,000 km more than my actual car. It also doesn’t help that I was treated terribly.

I received terrible customer service, specifically from a woman named Michelle, who did not want to give me the time of day. She constantly tried to interrupt my conversations to try and solve the issue, to the point where I had to ask to be moved into an office. I am so, so, so angry about what’s happened and my constant treatment by this dealership. I have an abundance of stories to share, but this really pushed me over the edge. My car is misrepresented in its km, and I paid to be unhappy because they wouldn’t let me leave without my car.

I will never buy from this dealership, and quite possibly ever from Volkswagen. I would like to speak to someone directly about this issue, as I have been informed that there are legal issues tied to the manipulation of km on my vehicle.

Just purchased a 2022 Tiguan from Danielle. She was very thorough in covering all aspects of the purchase and the car. Only had for 1 day so far but very pleased with the vehicle itself. Lots of leg and head room both front and back areas. Lots of bells and whistles - going to take some time to learn them all. Julie, the Finance Manager was also very thorough in explaining the paperwork. All in all, a very good experience.

Purchased a new Jetta and a Tiguan from them. Was very happy with their service at first. Then something always seemed to get damaged every single time I brought my vehicles in for an oil change.

Everything from leaving tools on the engine which scratched the undersides of the hoods, to someone leaning or kneeling on the grills and breaking them, to the final straw where they put the hoist through the floor of my Jetta, then blamed my wife saying she ran something over.

Had pictures of everything, contacted the manager and owner and they did not seem to care. So filed a complaint and sent all pictures to VW Canada who also did not care at all.

So now my two VW's get serviced at another shop and my two new vehicles are of another brand and dealer.

My car broke down on my way back to Toronto from Sioux Lookout, about 11 hours into my drive. I barely made it into Sault Ste Marie and my car was almost un- driveable (due to the deisel filter and sensor needing to be replaced).

The amazing employees took me in for a diagnosis right when I arrived and knew what the issue was in a short period of time.

Unfortunately, they needed to order parts and predicted that I wouldn't be ready to go for a few days. I had work on Saturday so we were a bit down to the wire and I was a bit stressed.

They called me everyday to give me updates which was so reassuring! They were prompt with arranging an in-house driver to and from the dealership and my hotel, who was a great driver and very personable. The repairs were completed faster than they predicted, and they not only washed my car but also gave me an in-car first aid kit (as a first aid instructor I especially appreciated this gesture, as I can be of good assistance if there is ever a roadside medical emergency). As an added bonus, they started the process of arranging a reimbursement claim for my hotel stays as part of the travel interruption insurance.

All in all, they made a breakdown in an unfamiliar town as comfortable as it could be - special shout out to the intake professional, driver, Greg, and Florian for going the extra mile to make sure I could get on my way as soon as possible! 5 stars all around!

There a bunch of liars.
Took my jetta in to get the check engine light checked, went there 3 times and paying everytime for them to look and tell me what the problem is. they said the glow plug was seized, that was a lie. They actually striped it in there. Then they wanted me to pay for another 4 to 5 hours so the guy can take the head off to take a look.
There was also a recalled part that i asked if the would change, the guy at services said once they figured out the problem. They never did change the recalled part which i cant beleive. After all that they didnt give me a straight answer and told me to return the car where i got it. Took it to another mechanic where he was straight with me not only that but let me be there while he worked on it to see that it wasnt seized but striped. Dont trust the VW dealer.

I own 3 Mazdas and service them with this dealer group... I mean not anymore. If you want to be taken advantage of THIS is the place to be! They will treat you as sub-human, steal your money for work that doesn't need to be completed, and make you feel like a fool while doing it. The service advisors speak way outside their realm of knowledge and upsell work that doesn't need to be completed. Lisa and Mario, the Jr. Palumbos, have had everything handed to them in life by their Daddy and it entirely reflects on their personalities.

I bought a 2017 Golf Sportwagon 4motion Highline. I bought the demo vehicle with 5000km. To compensate for the mileage, they gave me all weather mats, 3m guard, and winter tires on rims.
When I received my car, the mats were there as well as the winter tires, but, the 3m was not on the car. I had a warranty issue show up the day that I picked up my car. The adaptive cruise control stopped working due to a faulty radar. My car was the first one that had this issue within the dealership so it did take a while for the issue to be resolved. When I cleaned the car for the first time, I found that 3 of the 4 wheels had curb rash. When I brought this up to the operations manager, he assured me that the issue would be resolved in some way to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. I suggested splash guard and roof rails, of which the retail value equalled the cost of replacement wheels, he agreed.
The team at Northside was happy and willing to resolve every issue that came up. I am left a happy customer and I look forward to doing business with Northside again.
