Don't trust the GM! I've had the worst experience dealing with the GM and the Service Manager. Due to a bad oil change in which they failed to install the drain cap properly, my engine seized and my car had to be sent to the junk yard as I couldn't afford to replace the engine. The dealership took absolutely no responsibility for their actions. Another dealership even wrote up a service report saying this is what had happened and sent it to the GM at Pickering VW and he still refused to take any responsibility that they were at fault. Furthermore, it took the Service Manager and GM a week to even respond to me to tell me they were not at fault after I sent multiple emails and made numerous calls to both of them. If this had happened anywhere else my engine would have been replaced. This has been an absolute nightmare and I am now without a car and the GM is just blaming others saying I'm being lied to and that my engine was probably just at the end of its life and probably just had to be replaced anyways. It only had 120k on it! He told me that some of their engines only get about 100k and need to be replaced so that's probably just the case here. It's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I have been a loyal customer to Pickering VW for over 15 years and have always had great service and customer service. I just cant believe the way I was treated and the fact they took absolutely no responsibility for the service they are providing. The GM did say however if I did come to see him personally he could give me a "discount" on a new car. Yes, absolutely treat your customers like crap and ruin their cars and they will obviously be repeat customers.

Buyers be ware. What a horrible experience and a shady dealership. Do not trust Andrew Reid or Michael Jubran.

It took the dealership 10 days to pull credit. Once the credit was approved, Michael and Andrew were unable to locate the car we had purchased. The two told my husband and I that all dealerships in the surrounding area were sold out. We noticed that Midtown had two items shown on their lot. When we went in to speak to a rep at Midtown, the items were not sold. We were lied to by Pickering.

In the end, we purchased from Midtown and are very happy with our decision.

Test drive and show room experience was fine; staff knowledgeable and patient and the General Manager was a class act. The good experience ended there. Pricing started with the standard four square technique which I had to put a stop to. My pre-printed unhaggle sheet I brought with me went missing; had our agent print a new one after I insisted. Sent over to the Finance person after negotiating and they held firm on $700+ of fake fees that resources and this site all say are not needed.
I should have walked out; but couldn't invest the time with another dealership and so I was suckered. A shame too as I could not afford the aftermarket upgrades I was going to have the dealership do for me as a result; so they lost Parts dept. business from me.
I will not be going back for service since the dealership lost my trust. Love my new car; but regret choosing Pickering VW to buy from.

The salesperson and the manager are nice and fun to deal with. Although they did not have the exact model I was looking for, I was able to test drive two cars to get the idea of what might be. By the end, although I really like the Tiguan but it was just over of my budget for the initial cost and ongoing maintenance. VW has nice cars. The experience was great. Took my car for a repair 2 months back. I had to leave my car inside their parking lot for 1 week to fix the issue. When I came back to pick up the car, it was parked in the nearby street and the front bumper was damaged.
Asked for the CCTV footage, sent several emails (not replied back) and went there in person 5 times and the reply after 2 months was that they couldn't find anything from the footage. Also, I was told that they weren't any camera facing towards that part of the street and that they aren't responsible for the accident as that didn't happen inside there premise.
I don't understand why they park my car in some streets where they doesn't even have a camera and after damaging it asked me to move through my insurance. WHO IS GOING TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE???Me, for your irresponsible act.
At least, give me a proper reply back @Mr. James Gill, Service Manager. You told me that you will speak with the General Manager (after 2 months) and let me know. At least do that.

I just want to give a shout out to Mike and team @ Pickering VW and also share my experience. I started by doing the website calculator build, through VW website. Initially I didn’t see what I liked, with the numbers and different models and options. I ended up just going in, to test drive an Atlas. We explored quite a few options, including a few low mileage used models. In the end, we couldn’t refuse the incentives(which were not present on the build and price on the VW site), on a new Atlas. What I enjoyed most, was there was was absolutely zero pressure to buy, and the team was genuinely helpful, in trying to get us into a used or new vehicle.

This isn't my first time at Pickering VW, but is my first time purchasing new, at this dealership. I've had maintenance work done, and the staff is all so friendly, and was nice chat with and also nice to know many of them, are car enthusiasts, especially Mike! But, really Mike is just a straight up good guy, regardless if I purchased or not. I do have a largefamily, and a good group of friends and clients, that I would not hesitate to send over for either maintenance or used/new car.

They hire sales people who have no respect for the public or other dealers, their salesperson Andrew Reid (Andrew Cannata on facebook) has publicly defamed me and my dealership for cars that I am selling without even coming to look at them. As well as making plans with friends online to come look at my cars and take them for test drives and cause damage to them. Andrew has no respect for the car community as he has said that he spends his free time trolling for ads online that he can have a good laugh at and harass the poster, if this is the kind of employee that they employ, then imagine what else they allow or how your cars are treated before delivery!

UPDATE!
Sales manager Michael Jubran has contacted me requesting that I take down this review as its not fair to the other salespeople who work there. He claims that what Andrew does during his free time doesn't concern them. But was it fair for me and my dealership to be attacked by his employee?
They are fully aware of his behavior and are letting him continue.

Their website says they’ll be answering emails within 10 minutes during COVID19, which is FALSE. I’ve tried booking an appointment for a tire swap and haven’t gotten a response for over 3-4 days.

What a shame that a big dealership like volkswagen is struggling to adequately schedule appointments. Your local mechanic shop can offer you more prompt service than this dealership.

Save your money and go to a local auto shop for tire swap. They’ve made the entire process more complicated in the efforts of being more “efficient”.

Do not bring your car to this place. Paid $800 service package. Upon picking up my car my breaks no longer worked properly since they were not flushed properly. Fluids not topped up, spark plugs were replaced but not the wire, driver side one touch window stopped working. Nothing was said and i was given the keys to drive home........ nice 25 point inspection.... not to mention they did not tell me about a headlight and tail light that was out.
Also mentioned how my car randomly shuts off while driving. They did an inspection and found nothing, i was told that the problem needs to get worse in order to figure out the issue...... makes no sense.
took my car to a real mechanic he found the issue and repaired it within 45min.

Emailed VW Canada 2 weeks ago about my horrific experience and not a single person reached out to me via email or phone.

I don't ever like to write negative reviews, but this place unfortunately has been very disorganized and unresponsive to this point. I recently purchased a vehicle from here and traded in my previous vehicle. To this point I'm now paying for 2 vehicles. The first time I brought this to the attention of the Finance manager he assured me that everything should be sorted out. It's a month now since I picked up my new vehicle and still VW Finance has no paperwork regarding my previous vehicle and closing off that account. I originally went online and got approved through VW Finance prior to going to the dealer - however the Finance manager set it up with another financial institution - which I believe is causing a lot of this miscommunication. I can't seem to get any clarity on the situation. Apparently it got lost in the mail or transition and say it's not their fault - If you are in the customer service industry learn to be held accountable - customers don't want to hear a blame game - which is what I was being told. I felt like a number, quick to make the sale and done. Customer service from the rest of the dealership is very much lacking.

***UPDATE - December 12, 2019***
Tyler and Michael stepped up and tried to amend the situation, which I appreciate. All I wanted was some clarity and acknowledgement which I was not getting from the Finance Manager(who apparently is no longer at this location). I'm willing to give this dealership another shot and hope I'll have a much improved and better experience.

I went with my friend to help him buy a used car! The receptionist needs to be active with her customers because me and my friend asked her to speak with the used car sales manager and ended up waiting three hours because she wasn’t communicating with us. The sales person was not helpful throughout the whole process so we talked to the sales manager and finally finished the deal with the sale manager because he provided us with a good deals and gave us options.

I have taken my car twice here and both times have been great experiences. My locking key for my lug nuts was stripped so wanted to switch them out for non-locking ones. They were able to replace them in about 15-minutes and didn't charge me. I wanted to share my experience since I visited the showroom based on the customer reviews and it's true what they say it all depends on who you get.

I requested to see a brand specialist, upon meeting him I told him I knew what I was looking for and was looking to purchase something within a month as our lease was coming up. He was a bit standoffish from the beginning and wasn't getting a good vibe because typically reps. are engaged with good customer service but just didn't get the feeling even when i tried to engage him in a conversation to break the ice.

Perhaps I shouldn't have been forward with him and said I was looking for a good deal and shopping around and Pickering was my first choice since it was close to home. He said "no one beats our price" so I said then I don't need to shop around if you can give me a good price, I told him according to the MSRP it would be 303 bi-weekly, etc. he crunched some numbers and said he could do it for a $2 less but if we were to make a deal today he can re look at the numbers so I responded asking to tell me what that deal looks like and we can move forward, he didn't want to tell me anything until I agreed to sign today, the problem i had was how does one agree to anything without knowing the price.

I again said to him I'm serious about purchasing he didn't take me seriously and wanted me to agree to purchase before he can look at the numbers again. I wish there was a device recording our conversation.

At the end I thanked him for his time and he sat there with his arms folded. Probably upset wondering why we didn't sign.

This was a very unfortunate event, typically reps. are great to work with and the last time I was there with a family member to make a purchase we had a positive experience. this time however just seemed like the focus was only to meet a target.

I'm sure someone will respond back and apologize for what has happened, and say sorry they couldn't meet my needs.

I just wanted to share my negative experience in hopes that you will talk to your employees about going beyond making the sale, the sale would have happened have I had friendly, positive sales rep.

Worse experience ever! The receptionist completely ignored us when we walked in - like we did not exist. I tried to get her attention but she was ignoring us doing something. Another lady walked in behind us and she greeted her with a can I Help you. I said to her Hello? Hi we are in front of you! She looked annoyed and didn’t even apologize. I told her we were here before. I honestly felt discriminated against. Anyway, She then called the manager or some other sales rep and he came and spoke to me and he said you just walked in. I told him I was there and waiting actually and she ignored us. Anyway, that wasn’t really the point - she ignored us for more than a few minutes. I had to get her attention to help us, and on top she was unapologetic and rude. Anyway, they lost a client who was prepared to buy an Atlas. This is the first chance I’ve had in months to find the time to go - they wasted my time. They’re never getting my business or my friends and families.

Nevertheless in my opinion do not. Volkswagen are made in Mexico where workers make $400 a month so what kind of work would you expect.They pump out 1400 cars per day.
I have owned 3 Volkswagen in the past several years.
The first one had the front seats catch on fire and Volkswagen would not do anything about it.
The second one was a Golf TDI and it kept going into limp mode which was very dangerous.
Rather than spend the thousands for a new turbo I traded it in for a Jetta Sportswagen TDI.
Big mistake and my last. It came with a broken spring, the auxiliary radio input would not work, the left turn signal would not work, the engine light stays on and on and on it goes and this is from a respectable dealer.
Now I am stuck with a car that is a polluter and it may or may not past the next emission test.
**********Update. It would not pass the emission test.
Another issues came up that VW does not have an answer for. The first hot day I turned on the air conditioning and it smelt like rotten socks. It seems that this is common with Volkswagens. The answer from VW was to add Febreze to the air intake
I have a 9 year old Hyundai Santa Fee that have never given me one problem so I would think twice before buying a Volkswagen product.
I feel safe in the Santa Fee but not so much in the tiny Volkswagen

The service at Pickering VW was awesome. I brought my 2000 Jetta TDI in for repair and both the service manager and the mechanic took the time to go over both the problem as well as the various options to fix it. They answered all of my questions, and told me what was really needed, and what wasn't. I would definitely go back!

Best in Ontario! Searched around Ontario to buy a Golf Wagon TDI. John Verwey - the owner - was hands-down the best choice. A fair, no-hassle buying experience unlike any I've had before. Was honest and straight-forward and able to handle the process via phone and email while I was travelling. Met him for the first time when I picked the car up. Definitely worth checking out if you are considering buying a new car - even if you are not in the area.
