Absolutely the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had! My car is only three years old and still under warrantee and orillia VW, specifically Lisa the service manager and Colin the general manager are refusing to work on my vehicle! My sunroof will not operate properly and they are refusing to replace it! I’ve been back and forth with them for over three years now! They’ve made me pay for “services” that were meant to repair my issues with no luck. I WILL NEVER BUY VW AGAIN BECAUSE COLIN IS A SHADY LIAR. COLIN IS THE DEFINITION OF A SHADY SALES MAN.
I am now still actively making payments on a car that is under warrantee and doesn’t operate properly. Buy a VW if you want but do not buy from orillia VW! As soon as you have a car issue they will screw you! And they won’t use lube.

Originally I spoke with Ben who directed me to speak with John. I was sceptical about going to a dealership because dealerships are generally more expensive but they quoted me $300 less than another local garage! I was so pleased with the customer Service I received, that I referred my mom to Ben when she was ready for a new car. I highly recommend Orillia Volkswagen if you're looking for a new car or to have your car serviced.

Was looking at trading in our current 2019 vw and asked for a value on it so we could trade it in on a new 2020 or 2021. Was told they could not give us a trade in value unless we were putting in a offer on the new one. Not sure how they figure someone is supposed to look at options if they won't even give a value. We've bought so many new cars and never had this experience anywhere. Seems like shady used car salesman tactics. Would recommend going elsewhere.

I recently had an experience with Orillia Volkswagen that could have gone sideways but instead showed their commitment to doing things right and taking care of their customers.

During a recent service of my car the touchscreen was very noticeably chipped. I couldn't prove that it had happened there and they couldn't prove that I had done it. This could have very quickly escalated into an argument where there was no good outcome and hard feelings all around. But that's not what happened. Orillia VW took ownership of the problem and worked with me to solve it. In the end the part had to be replaced and they took care of it completely. I know that it was an expensive undertaking but at no point did they try to shift any of the blame on to me. I'm very grateful.

I felt it was important to recognize them for going the extra mile to meet my expectations. It's easy to say "the customer is always right" but when you have to pay for it you'll often find that most company's tone changes. That wasn't the case here and I applaud their integrity. Thank you!

They seem to have an inability to communicate timelines with their customers nor even contact them when work is complete. Both of our recent visits ended with exasperation. I drove 2.5 hours here after searching out the car I wanted, and another dealership essentially said that it wasn't available to be test driven. Lee had the car ready to go, but it wasn't the one I had requested. However he was super about the whole thing and ended up getting me into a much nicer trim package of the same car that they had in stock. The whole process was a snap. Super friendly people who worked really hard to close my deal by end of day (they had a great sale on and it was the last day). I'm super happy with my new Golf Sportwagen. I didn't get any sleazy vibes from here, which can't be said about some of the other dealers that I visited in my search for my ideal car. The whole team should be commended on their level of professionalism and straighforwardness. They explained everything to me during the signing process. Would highly recommend this place.

What an amazing team!
My wife and I had the unpleasant experience of car failure during a road trip through Orillia. I had called several shops to see who could get my car up on a hoist and fixed as our home was 3 hours away and I was way out of my element. I called Orillia VW and met the very young and lovely Bobbi-Jo who was able to broker a deal with the incredible service manager Lisa to look at our Jetta. While waiting to hear the prognosis, we were taken care of by Ben and Collin who put up with our awful jokes and turned what could have been a very stressful day to one of the most pleasant customer experiences I have every had. I think that this is an exemplary team and they should be proud of what they have achieved for their customers.

Brought my car here with a complaint of lack of power.
Dealership quoted me a turbo and a few other things. Totalling around $4500.
Now i am a licensed mechanic, i was busy with my own work, and did not have diagnostics for Volkswagen. I disagreed with diagnosis stating that i do not beleave it was the turbo charger assembly. I was assured over and over that this was fix. So trusting the.VW professionals. I went ahead with the.work. Got a call saying my vehicle was fixed and ready for pickup. ( note that dealership is over an hour drive for me and had to leave work early to pick it uo withen opening hours.) About a minute away from the dealership the same problem with lack of power and.epc light coming on was back. I had just paid $4500 and was no better off than when i first brought it there. I continued home as i was under time constraints. Called the dealership the next day and brought my vehicle back. After another.diagnosis i was quoted a catalytic converter. It had broke apart and clogged. (Causing lack of power). Was quoted another $2500 to fix. With.my own experiance. I knew of the emissions warrenty, which my vehicle was still under. I had to inform the service manager that this.was a warrenty.repair. After several days i was.told that.it would be covered under warrenty. Repair was done and car was fixed. So the whole.problem i had , after spending $4500 would have been coverd.under warrenty. I contacted the dealer principal hoping for some sort of help, being as my car was misdiagnosed, and.cost me $4500 when it should have been a FREE warrenty repair. I was offerd.no help whatsoever. I had just spent all that money on absolutely nothing, on the.dealers mistake. After several attempts at receiving at least part of my money back, and.considering sueing orillia Volkswagen, i gave up. So please! Do not bring your vehicle here.to this awful dealership. No hate on the technicians themselves, but the.Dealership itself!

John and Andrew have been fantastic to deal with both times my car has gone in for service, had my timing belt changed at a very competitive price and some work done on my emissions system that was covered by the TDi extended warranty with no hassle. John took excellent care of me for my Jetta's service. He was attentive, listened to my questions, called me back to schedule a last minute appointment, and went above and beyond my expectations for the service. The communication was excellent. After a poor service and purchasing experience that I had at VW Barrie, this was a breath of fresh air. He pointed out to me after the service several things that I should think about fixing - and took pictures of it with his phone to show me so that I understood! That is proper service with care for the customer and no BS. On top of all that - it was offered at a far lower price than the exact same service listed at VW Barrie! Check their websites if you don't believe me. The cost of the service was almost half of the cost at the other dealership!!

To top it all off, they called me back after the service to make sure that the service was to my satisfaction! What an amazing experience. I can't recommend them enough.

Travelled from Barrie to avoid the big city dealerships, glad I did. It's a quieter area, and they have great stock. I settled on a 2015 Jetta 2.0 5MT and I'm loving it so far. Came with good condition tires with nitrogen, oil change and full inspection was done prior. My only complaint is on the way home I parked the car and checked the fluids. Everything was in acceptable parameters, so I was content. Kraig and the rest of the staff were friendly, and very transparent. As someone who works in the automotive industry, giving their shop an open door policy gives them an extra layer of comfort. Andrew at the service desk was very friendly and helpful. Kayla in financing is very quick to respond to my inquiries. Overall a good experience and when it's time for something else (hopefully with a 6 speed) I'll go back.

Warning, they will have you sign an empty work order and tell you they will call if any paid work is to be done. I told them I am a mechanic and can do the work myself, I am only here since warranty is free. They never called me, told me after the work was done that it’s not covered and charged me 300. If the paper I sign at the start said you might have to pay something, I would have just said never mind. But the work order was blank, I thought it was just a liability thing, but once I got back, there were charges printed on it above my signature that were not there before. I went to my dealership that I bought the car from, Bramgate Volkswagen, and they said basically everything they did at this location was wrong. So they did the work under warranty that Orillia said would not be approved. I thought to save time I should go here instead of a few hours away, but it seams with every service I have paid for up north, the quality goes down hard, and the scammyness skyrockets. So avoid this location, unless you like being taken advantage of.

Strung along playing "we will call you right back."
The call never comes. Leave a voice mail. Never returned call back a few days later to only be told they will call back.
This place is extremely unprofessional. Warranty work is never completed and i was strung along until warranty was up.
I bought a brand new car not used and have had nothing but issues. Go to barrie or alliston much better service.

Girlfriend sent her VW Rabbit I’m to get a fuel injector issue fixed, once fixed they reported a faulty wire harness because of a “nest” despite previously being looked at by another mechanic and not finding one. Once this issue was “resolved” another problem suddenly appeared with the wheel bearing which was making “the steering wheel lock”. Complete BS. Total amount of time being screwed around by VW Orillia? 17 Days.

I live in Newmarket but spend summers in Orillia and this place BLOWS Pfaff out of the water. I have always received the best service here from John and the service manager (sorry I forget her name). Always communicative, punctual, fair etc.

I had extraordinary service @ Orillia VW yesterday. My vw camper lost a fan belt @ 3:30 pm. It was towed to Orillia VW by CAA. The service agent John Bell did everything possible to accommodate my needs. The technical Jeremy Townsend worked overnight to get me back on the road to our destination. Without their attention to ensure we got back on the road ASAP we might have had to stay over night at a hotel. This was exceptional service for someone who was travelling for 5 hrs. & another few hrs yo destinstion. By good fortune I happen to be in the area of Orillia VW.

My wife took our brand new VW Tiguan into this dealership for its second oil change. With the work completed my wife left the dealership and headed home, but the car did not even make it two blocks before a grinding noise developed and to make matters worse, the brakes began to fade while approaching a red light at a very busy intersection… moments later, the car alerted that the “oil pressure was low” and to “turn off the engine.” After receiving this very frantic phone call, I advised my wife that I was on my way (45 mins away) and to call the dealership as it was obviously something indicative to the oil change that was just done. The receptionist told my wife to call the VW road side assistance (VWRSA). VWRSA told my wife to get out of the car IMMEDIATELY – not so convenient to do on a cold rainy spring day with a 3 year old and a 4 month old. When I arrived on scene, I popped the hood and immediately spotted the issue – the old seal from the previous oil filter was still on the engine block when the mechanic installed the new oil filter! Once transported to the dealership, I promptly requested the service manager’s attention which quickly came with the attention of the dealership manager – their solution: add more oil to it and start the engine! No diagnostics, no written procedures. I advised them of my credentials, being a mechanical engineer at an automotive company with a back ground in engine design, development and building. I firmly stated that I was not comfortable with their proposal. However, they proceeded stating “there was no other way to determine the potential damage.” After the mechanics added oil, I recorded a video of the startup in which you can clearly hear the rotating assembly is lacking lubrication for the first ~5 seconds of running. Furthermore, I requested to have the oil filter removed so that I could physically open the filter canister to inspect the filter element, in which I found some evidence of fine metallic residue which the mechanics assured me was “normal.” Not being overly familiar with VW’s, I was not in a position to challenge yet knowing that what I observed was typical of most vehicles that have gone the full oil change interval, not one with less than 30 minutes of running time. After a very LONG day at this dealership, we agreed to part ways for the day, with the request from the dealership that my wife and I think about what we would like done to rectify the situation and added “obviously we are not going to insult you with a free oil change.” That night my wife and I discussed the situation and agreed that we wanted to cut ties with this vehicle as it had lost its peace of mind appeal that comes with purchasing a car. The next day, I received a call from the dealership manager who offered to schedule us in for a free complimentary oil change at is next interval (note the parting comments above) where they would inspect the vehicle further for any signs of damage. I advised him this proposal was far from sufficient and that my wife and I were seeking to trade in the vehicle for the rationale stated above and we were even willing to put in $5000 of our own money, which we considered more than fair. Proceeding conversations quickly became sparse and when we finally did manage to get into communication with the dealership manager, their offer was roughly 50% of what we paid for the vehicle less than one year ago, leaving my wife and I in over a $15k deficit if we were to proceed – obviously not a financial decision for anyone with common sense. In closing, be very mindful of the dealerships you trust and the way in which they operate – ask yourself if you are comfortable with your wife and young kids driving in a vehicle that has had the safety you spend your hard earned money on compromised or willing to shell out over 15k for someone else’s mistake. Yes mistakes happen, but for those who own up to them, that is “character” – something that this dealership lacks, and that can be seen in the way this dealership handled this situation.

This is not the first time I have needed service from Orillia Volkswagen. I have owned many vehicles and dealt with many Dealers, but the service I get, without strings attached, I get from this dealer is far more gratifying than acceptable. Everyone there truly practices the "customer service" claim far better than anyone I have ever dealt with. I can't say enough about every aspect of this dealership, particularly Lisa, Chad, Jordan, Beth and the fellows in parts and even the mechanics, in the way they treat me. If and when I am ready to buy a new vehicle, this type of personal service makes it very difficult to buy any other brand of vehicle, because ORILLIA VOLKSWAGEN doesn't sell other brands. I am very pleased about a job well done from a Dealer who knows what it takes to keep its' customers. My overall assessment is way over and above the "Ten" at the top of your service efforts! Absolutely the best dealership we have worked with. Mark was great, timely and very professional. Ashley was great as well, very thorough with the financing and warranty options. We bought a certified used vehicle from them, which had a problem with the door sensor. We were told it would be fixed and it was, it did begin again a week or so later and Orillia Volkswagen took it back in and replaced the part quickly and with no questions asked, they also did not feed us the story you usually get starting with 'Oh, don't worry about this, we are not going to charge you', when its obvious you should not be charged. We love the vehicle and will be bringing it there for service if we ever need to, seeing as this dealership cares more about customer satisfaction than making a quick buck. Will definitely buy another vehicle from here.
