To say that we are extremely disappointed with the VW Leavens Dealership is an understatement!!! Horrible customer service with absolutely no follow-up. I have contacted the Service Manager on a number of occasions to address issues and there has been no reply. This is absolutely unacceptable!!!!
My family has bought numerous vehicles from Leavens, and to be treated like this is an insult! Both my husband and I have made sure to share our experiences with family/friends etc. as this is not a way to do proper business.
We are just so disappointed in the integrity of the service, staff and vehicle.

Used the free unhaggle service. the sales person contacted me immediately by email.. They did provide me the best price offer by creatively combining the unhaggle discount with the cash discount offered by VW. instead of using VW finance they sourced an outside bank loan at the same VW finance rate. None of this was revealed until after I made the deposit for a new car. This is fine. A loan is a loan and they got me the best price. WHAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT LEAVENS VW DID NOT FOLLOW THE UNHAGGLE RULES WHICH STIPULATED ONLY A $250.00 DEPOSIT WAS REQUIRED. INSTEAD I WAS REQUIRED TO MAKE A 5000.00 DEPOSIT. I agreed reluctantly As I was committed to. Buying the car at the agreed price.

Clean and friendly dealership. I went in not reading knowing what I wanted. Staff were quick to suggest things that I may benefit from, which surprisingly was not the most expressive vehicle. They were not pushy. It felt like they genuinely wanted the best for for me.

First time to Leavens Volkswagen and had a wonderful experience. I went to the service department to have some things adjusted with the VW computer and they were super friendly and very quick. Steven was very friendly and I didn't get the other gentleman's name but also very friendly and professional.

I really appreciated the care they took to respect physical distancing and disinfecting especially since I was with my toddler. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and will be happy to come back for future service visits and products.

I would recommend this location to anyone with a VW or looking into purchasing one. Well done!

The service dept. here is awesome! Before taking my car in, I read quite a few reviews and they were mixed. But my visit today was almost flawless. James and Zack were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, I was SHOCKED when I heard the service was done within 2 hours which is RARE in dealerships.(sometimes they dont get to your car for a while) Only downside was the wait for shuttle was too long, but it’s understandable as they are complying with the social distancing rules. I would trust these guys for all vw service needs.

Absolutely disgusting service, quoted $507 for an oil change and alternator replacement which ultimately came to $1300. The receptionist could not connect me to the mechanic and I was promptly sent to voicemail even when I returned the mechanics call withing the minute of receiving it. Was also told that the service would "definately for sure probably be done by then end of the day" and was finished the last hour of the shop being open, they also refused to send an invoice to the email I gave them. Would rate 0 stars if it were an option. Avoid this place at all costs.

If you are thinking of storing your tires with Leavens Volkswagen, DON'T! When I brought my car to the dealership in December to have its tires changed from summer to winter, the summer tires were clean. Today I went to get my summer tires on and they come out looking like someone had gone off roading with my car. If my tires went in clean and come out looking like this full of dirt and grime, the least the dealership could do is wash them. From now on I will not be storing my tires with Leavens VW. As a 10 year valued customer of Leavens VW I did not expect this.

Response to Chris: Thank you for your response Chris Leavens. I totally understand the staff shortage situation due to COVID-19 and why you guys are currently not washing cars. But what I don't understand is how my rims and tires went into storage looking clean and came out looking this dirty. The rims could not be washed with a simple rince or even scrubbing with soap since all the dirt is stuck on. I am still very satisfied with all my other experiences with you guys. Thank you!

I recently had an issue with a new Atlas I had purchased at another dealership. This dealership discovered the problem and notified me of it and offered me assistance in dealing with it.

The service manager Trevor went out of his way to help me in resolving the problem. This dealership was not responsible for the issue but helped me deal with it. I was surprised at the level of service and integrity displayed.

I brought my car in for repairs of a serious issue covered under warranty. The car was towed to the dealership through the roadside assistance offered by Volkswagen and/or Leavens, I am not sure. This part of the service was better than the roadside assistance program I had with another dealership prior to the purchase of the Jetta at Leavens. Jeff from the service department contacted me promptly and explain the course of action. The issue was fixed and car washed and even vacuumed!
The customer service and professionalism throughout this experience, shown especially by Jeff, but also the mechanics, customer service desk representative, and even Reception, was exceptional. I really felt reassured and appreciated.
It was impressed even though the mechanical issue was not.

Although my situation changed and I no longer needed to purchase a vehicle for the time being, I wanted to take a moment to share my experience working with Abby at Leavens:

Abby was extremely friendly and warm when I first came in to visit the dealership. I had been to numerous other car dealerships and the choices were overwhelming. Needless to say, I was stressed! I knew I was leaning towards a Volkswagen and interested to learn more about the model I had my eye on. Abby, (who stayed an hour after her shift ended!) was very knowledgeable and confident in Leavens quality which made me feel good about my potential choice. I knew I couldn't make any big decisions without my husband in haul, so I rescheduled to come back on the weekend. In the days leading up to the weekend, Abby very respectfully kept me up-to-date via text message (with my consent) on the status of a particular vehicle I liked.

Needless to say, I felt very comfortable working with Abby. When the time comes to purchase another vehicle, I've already made my decision to buy Volkswagen and will be seeing Abby again!

The response from Leavens is proof that they only care about making money, not customer satisfaction. They have the lube if you are getting your car serviced there, but not if you get your service elsewhere. The charge for the lube is $75. You can go to Canadian Tire and get some ("special lube") lithium grease or silicone grease and do it yourself for less than $15! I only stopped in because I was at the airport and it seemed more convenient. And this has nothing to do with having to pay money, and even that remark is unprofessional and completely untrue. This is a quick 2 minute service to help out a customer who has purchased more than one vehicle from your dealership. It's really that simple. You don't even use a full can of lube on one sunroof, so for sure you must have some in the shop. I actually called a few other dealers and all of them said they would do it without hesitation. So it is more BS to try and say no other dealer would take 2 minutes to spray a bit of lube to see if that would fix a squeaky sunroof track. Clearly you have no idea what professionalism is, nor do you know what it means to provide quality customer service. The "chief" remark was not made with a smile on that jerks face; he said it in a condescending way. At least you admitted that it was unprofessional...that must have been hard for you to do! That's fine, though, you have lost another customer and likely a lot more as word of mouth spreads fast...all for a bit of lube on a sunroof track...real smart business.

My husband went in because the sunroof on our 2017 Sportwagen was making a terrible squeaking sound (have probably used it less than 25 times since we bought it). He was greeted by Jeff who flippantly said, "How you doing, chief?" Chief? Are you kidding? My husband has never even met this guy before and he's calling him chief? Is this how you greet customers at Leavens, by being a complete jerk? How can you possibly think that being a condescending jerk is good customer service? Once Jeff found out that we do not service our vehicle at Leavens he became abrupt and even more unprofessional. According to him the squeaking sunroof track on a 2 year old car is normal wear and tear and is not covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. If my husband wanted to buy the lube and do it himself it would be $75! My husband asked if they have any in the shop and if they could just quickly put a few dabs of lube on the track to see if that would get rid of the squeak....but no...something so simple was too hard for Jeff. He even said they don't have any in the shop...so I guess they don't lube sunroofs, even though he said if we had serviced our vehicle at Leavens they would have lubed the sunroof...go figure. Bottom line is if you buy your vehicle from Leavens, but don't let them rip you off for routine service, they will treat you like you are dirt.

What Jeff didn't know is that we are actually looking at getting a new VW now that I have my license. We were going to be shopping in the next week, but after the way my husband was treated today we will never buy another vehicle from Leavens ever again!!

Management will likely back their employee, so this review is not for them...it is for anyone thinking of going to Leavens for service. This is not the first time they have treated us badly. We have purchased two cars from them and this is the kind of service we get?

London is a small city with very little competition. This is why Leavens gets away with saying BS about being in business for 60 years. I guarantee that if there were more than two VW dealers in London, and with the current level of service (more like no service), Leavens wouldn't have survived this long. The ownership of this dealership probably doesn't realize how bad some of their employees treat customers.

Do yourself a favour and avoid Leavens.

I have since purchased a vehicle from Amerigo at Leavens and he was fantastic - he took the time to explain the entire process, made sure I knew all the little tips and tricks for the new vehicle, and kept me involved in the whole purchase process. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Leavens and will continue to be a life-long customer.

The building is clean, and beautiful, and the staff are all courteous and knowledgeable - would recommend this dealership to anyone.

Started well but went downhill from there. Found a car online and prior to heading to dealership used the "chat" function and confirmed vehicle was there. They said will refer me to sales person. I gave my email and name etc. got an email shortly saying vehicle was there. I had indicated will visit within 1 hour or so. when I got there, the car was ready to go out front for my inspection and test drive. Sales person was knowledgeable about the vehicle contrary to being a used car and not VW. he came on the test drive and answered my questions and engaged with me. he then offered for me and wife to continue the test drive without him. I went and inspected the vehicle further and found a bunch of rust starting on the truck behind the decals and already a small bubble. there was also some silicone inside the rear drives door as if the prior owner had put it there to avoid some rattling or wind noise. when I took vehicle back i advised salesperson about the problems to which he inspected and got a Manager involved. he told me don't worry, they will fix the car. While I do realize its a 5 year old used car, it also happens to be luxury car with less then 90,000kms. I told the sales person don't bother getting the quote to fix or include in the sales price as i am not interested in the car. The Manager at this point heard me say NO, as he walked away front door back to his office in the back. The sales person then got very defensive and snarky and loud with me saying that even 1 year old cars can rust. He seemed very upset with me about not wanting to purchase the vehicle from them. its like since i decided to say NO that i had wasted their time and i became just a sales # to them instead of the customer that initially started. since they had my car keys for the trade in, i had to ask for my keys back. i was willing to give them a chance to redeem themselves as a Dealership saying that if they find something comparable to what i was looking for to contact me, but the sales person just gave me my keys and turned around and ignored me. So much for redemption.

I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication from the service department. The service manager was supposed to follow up with me about an issue I had after my last service appointment in December 2018. He contacted me by email asking what was the best time to reach me. I replied to him before Christmas to let him know when he could reach me and have emailed him again this week. I am still waiting for a response. Considering 5 cars have been purchased from Leavens since 1995, I would have hoped they would have wanted to keep me as a customer. The experience buying has always been good and the service department used to be excellent. Unfortunately their service department is not nearly as good as it used to be. I remember one of their sales people saying "We may not always beat on price, but we will always beat on service." I cannot given my business to a service department that does not follow up with me and because of that, I will have to take my car elsewhere to get serviced.

I have purchased three cars in a row from Leavens, and loved the experience every time! The staff don't ever seem to be having a bad day - I think maybe it's something in the coffee. Both the sales and service experience is very warm and welcoming. They have really earned my loyalty over the years!

I first ran across Leavens through inquiring about an AutoTrader ad. The car my wife and I were interested in didn't have the financing terms that we were looking for, but Samantha McKay offered her help to find another car that would work for us. I have been in touch with Samantha in trying to find a 2014 VW Golf Wagon TDI, Wolfsburg edition, manual, Tornado Red. She is super responsive via e-mail and phone (we live in Toronto), upfront, thorough, acts with integrity and courtesy. The car we're looking for is a tough find, but Samantha is perhaps an even rarer find in the car sales industry. But judging by the reviews, she seems to be just representative of the Leavens dealership as a whole. If you live in Southern Ontario and you're looking for a VW, you need to go to Leavens.
