I purchased a Toyota Yaris in February 2017, and Mendes made a mistake installing my tires. They accidentally put on winter tires when they should have been sent to storage. I drove all summer with my winter tires on, which were unfortunately ruined by the time I came to switch out my tires. Mendes replaced my winter tires with no charge. I received exceptional customer service from the manager Darren and from his staff Erin and Ray. I am very happy with my experience at this dealership and feel the service I received was above and beyond.

I brought my car for tire and oil change and to check the breaks. It took 2 days to fix it and I made the apt. 3 weeks in advance. Not only that they quoted me 1000$ on the phone but I had to pay 1750$! Never accept a verbal quote change over the phone from them.!

Went to trade in my car and buy another within this branch. The waiting time was around 45 minutes. Their staff mentioned that their manager will give me the offer. I waited around 45 minutes. While waiting I checked the vmr and entered all the required information. The estimate was for trade in minimum 15.500$. So after 45 minutes waiting time there, the staff said my manager is offering you 11k for your car!! And gave me all my papers so fast. As he was saying hurry up you need to leave. I said, sorry what he offered me is very low, thank you, and I left.
It was obvious how unprofessional was their treatment. I understand that managers sometimes keep sitting in their offices. But in that branch I never seen their manager even if there is shortage in the floor. I understand too that you can offer less than the normal payment average by around 1000$ or even more, but in my case their manager offered less than 5000$ from normal market’s average to pay me!
Is it fair Sir, “manager” to take my car if I accepted your offer and pay me 11k then you sell minimum 23k?
Please, I would suggest to be careful how you treat your customers within your branch to keep Toyota’s reputation in a good shape. Merci!!!

I had dealt with Ryan (Service Manager). Him and Matt (Service Advisor) had both been great and honored the coupon I had from August 2023 for a wheel alignment discount.

I have been dealing with this dealership for 6 years now & bought several vehicles from here. The dealership do have a great service with great employees but unfortunately the maintenance prices keeps going up although it would be great to have some sort of discounts for loyal customers. I used to get my service done and get a free 150 points inspection instead of the discount but unfortunately it’s not there now which is honestly disappointing for a loyal customer.

Communication with clients can be improved drastically. They call and remind about upcoming appointments but forget to call back when service is complete. You wait till end of day and try to reach out to them but calls get diverted to voicemail after 5pm. You’ll be in a limbo to figure out if they need more time or if someone didn’t communicate the status.

Since my last review my experience with the sales team at Bank Street Toyota has done a complete 180. I have since experienced extreme noise and problems with my brakes which lead me to bring my vehicle into Toyota to be serviced within 6 months of my purchase. I was told that there was nothing technically wrong with my brakes and that they were at 90% and good to go. Fast forward to April 2023(9 months later) and I am having the same issues with my brakes so I bring my vehicle back in for service. I am told that the vehicle I bought does not have Toyota brand brakes on it because when the brakes were replaced(directly before I purchased the vehicle) that the parts were not in stock so they used off brand parts in replacement. I was told that the only solution to my problem with the brakes is to have a complete brake replacement since they have now deteriorated to 30% and 40%. I have owned my vehicle for less that 2 years and have put in less than 10000kms.
I bought my vehicle being told that the brakes on it had been replaced by their Toyota service department directly before I purchased the vehicle. Part of the reason I felt secure in purchasing this vehicle was that I was making my purchase with a Toyota brand dealer that was selling me Toyota brand vehicle and serviced by Toyota brand service department. To say I feel like I was swindled is a bit of an understatement.
Not even two years after purchase I am being told that I need a complete brake replacement for my brakes to function properly. I have made attempts to contact the team at Toyota and the sales manager and general manager have not replied or responded to my requests for contact. The service manager has replied to my attempts at contact but because this is not an issue with the service department there is nothing that they can do except inform the general manager and sales manager. It’s has now been over a month and I still have not heard anything back from the sales team.
I would highly suggest that anyone making a vehicle purchase with Bank Street Toyota double check that if you are purchasing a Toyota vehicle from them to make sure they are actually using Toyota parts when servicing your vehicle. What I thought had been a positive vehicle purchase experience has now turned into a nightmare and I am very frustrated with the level of service from this Toyota dealership. If I wanted used carlot service I would have made my purchase not from what I thought was a reputable dealer and I would have bought from a private lot and saved some of my money.

Advisor: Ashwin is very honest and reliable my go to guy about parts and services. Explains things and offers good insight.

Luke was also quick and effective.

Admin: Amanda was friendly and efficient in resolving an issue.

Got an interior detailing: was overall pretty well done my only complaints was they didnt vacuum my glove box and there were a few swirl spots on windshield but was great for price and car felt a renewed sense of clean.

Would recommend for parts and services but I would confirm they have the parts before booking a service.

I really don't understand how there are so many 5 star reviews. Ordered a car in October, was told it would arrive by December. No follow-up from the sales team. You have to call 20 times and if you're lucky someone answers. Once they answer they give you the same sad story, "we are also waiting on shipments, but we expect your car in 2 months." 2 months pass and again, no follow-up. So we call again and again no one answers. It's ridiculous and unprofessional.

If you want to buy a car from this dealership, double-check their quote with other Toyota dealerships' quotes and also ask them to give you all detail before signing any contract!
I leased a car and after signing the contract and picking up the car I found that I paid more money with less coverage for the leased protection which they put in my contract, because I did trust their sales advisor who is Siavash. Unfortunately, he did not give me the detail of the contract before signing the contract! (that's my fault as I trust their sale advisor)

This is second car we get with the Bank street team. We currently had a change in the family dynamics and desperately needed a new car to accommodate. Rob worked with us for months non stop trying to get us what we needed. He was available all the time wether he was at work or not. He has been patient and truly truly looking for our best Interest as opposed to closing a sale. We will go back to him wherever he will be in a couple of years for more cars. Bank street Toyota hang on to him for the sake of your customers. Also to add on Rob don’t not stop once he sells the car, he continues to check in and help when needed. We couldn’t reach service for a long time for winter rims. Not only did he make it happen in a short time he also got us an appointment. Moe is also amazing on the financial side. Very knowledgeable and knows what is the best for you financially. Great team!!!! You can’t even get that service and treatment from any other dealer in town during these times.

Great customer service and such an easy purchasing process. I was first greeted by Egor, who was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed. I originally came in to look at a solely gas only Camry to replace my old vehicle. After discussing my needs and my average commute. Egor made it apparent by showing me the math, that over time, with how gas prices are and my commute to work that a Hybrid model would actually save me money in the long run. While purchasing a new car, I asked the service department to change my wiper blades on the car I purchased from them (new) a few years ago. They cracked my windshield while changing the blades and then told me they were not responsible because changing blades was a 'goodwill' gesture. I had what I think is a reasonable expectation that they could manage to change a set of wiper blades without damaging my car. I saw the person changing them had a large screwdriver in his hand while changing the blades. Now they don't return calls from me, and have refused to make this right. I am now left to address the issue myself, and am driving an unsafe car.

Update:
Had a lovely call from the service manager and general manager and they are going to simply replace my windshield which is all I asked for. Great solution, and good work Bank Street Toyota I really appreciate your service !

Let me start off by saying that I’ve never had a good experience at a car dealership. I’ve never had a good experience for many reasons. I’ve either had to deal with pushy salesman, a terrible financial manager, or another individual at the dealership who is trying to get me to sign for more options or more money than I wanted to spend. When I showed up to Bank Street Toyota, I was greeted by James. At first I was extremely nervous and weary, as all my experiences with car dealerships have been negative up to this point. He was welcoming, extremely professional, and was not pushy whatsoever. I told him exactly what I wanted, how much money I wanted to spend, and I would make the purchase if he could come to terms with me financially. He was straight to the point. He didn’t try to add any additions to the price or to upsell me in anyway. He told me a price, and he told me the best price right off the bat. I know this, because I shopped around at other Toyota dealerships in the area and none came close to his number. In regard to my trade-in, he was very upfront and honest and gave me a great number immediately. He explained the process of purchasing a vehicle through him in great detail. And when the vehicle arrived at the dealership, he showed me every single option, took an extreme amount of time to make sure I was comfortable with my purchase. I cannot say anything negative about my experience with James. He was fantastic! If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, specifically a Toyota, I would highly recommend going to see James. It was such a pleasant experience to deal with a salesman who didn’t take advantage, or try to make it feel like he was gaining something from the sale. A few weeks after I purchased a vehicle I got a phone call. To my surprise it was James. He was making sure that my two car seats fit in the vehicle and that my wife was happy with my purchase. I know Toyota’s last a very long time and they don’t break down easily. But when I do need another car or I would like an upgrade, I will be going back to see James.

Being a woman, I braced myself expecting pushy salesmen but instead, I was met with the nicest, most honest and respectful people. My experience with Bank Street Toyota has been very disappointing. I brought my car in for servicing last Wednesday which was supposed to take 12–48 hours max. This ended up being delayed 3 times due to missing parts/error in installation. This, I was understanding of because I understand the delay in parts is out of their hands and mistakes happens and they were upfront about it. However the reason I am writing this review is the complete radio silence on communication. I have not heard anything from Toyota since Friday, the day before the storm. It is now Thursday, 6 days later and there has been 0 communication. I understand the shop lost power, as many did. However 6 DAYS with NO communication to say that my car has not been damaged or even ruined during the storm is completely unacceptable. To simply have a staff member send an email to everyone (you would think someone at this store has power at home…) who has their cars with Toyota to confirm that they’re car survived the storm would have been GREATLY appreciated. Again, had this been a few days I would have understand but 6 days is simply not okay. Please, keep your customers in the loop.

Edit: I emailed the email you provided 5 days ago (Thursday) and have not received any reply. The phone isn’t being answered at parts. Can I please have an email of someone who monitors their email? Thank you.

I bought a 21 highlander but turned to be the worst mistake ever. The sales person was not clear about the prices of other cars as the hybrid version or the 4Runner. If he was clear I’d have bought a hybrid or a 4Runner.
The finance guy tricked me big time with the warranty. He sold me the extended warranty and the rust proof claiming that the cover everything other than wear and tear and the rust proof covers any rust in the car and rusted panels will be replaced. This was a big lie. I realized after I read the warranty that it literally covers nothing. It just covers the factory defects and the recalls. For the rust proof, they just spray it as any other rust proof shop does and they grease the hinges and charges you 2k and once you have any rust the service department will come up with any excuse not to cover it. I felt that I wasted 5k plus tax plus finance on a scam. Also after the finance guy made you sign the papers he will not respond to your emails. I tried to contact him but he didn’t reply.

I've finally found my retirement car. It had been a good 6 years and had no idea my old car would be put on an online auction. How times have changed and I put poor Alex through the ringer.
He remained calm, explained the process and we then continued.
Looked at a classy 2020 Toyota Corolla and met Moe to start the paperwork and sealed the deal by the end of the week. Some confusion, with my credit card but Moe is a professional whom keeps his word and all was rectified.

I purchased a car 4days ago , I was told by the salesperson that is fuel economy car .car was 725 km .car has reached 1025now and he told me that oil change is every 3months ..I did my inf late unfortunately and oil change is once a month !!! This a fortune car way expensive !! ... I picked it up Wednesday afternoon and it also was full tanked.but .gas has been consumed more than the half reaching the empty today. Also, salesperson lied about the panel features of the car .he said is very similar of Toyota Corolla. In my conclusion this dealer is a fraud and sales people lies and fooled people with false information as much they can to get rid cars .I DO NOT recommend this dealer at all..!!

Horrible Horrible experience with customer service lying for a promise and confusion. When I bought a car, sale person told me when I will get an oil change for free and customer service told me next time i come back I will get service maintenance #2 for free as it comes with the oil change as they do not oil change on its own for a new car. Customer Service told me not to worry with this. When I called to book the appointment for maintenance service #2 and tell the person to verify with Customer Service so that I don't waste time coming for nothing. When I showed up for the appointment, they simply not honored it and that customer service rep is off. Service Manager is unable to do anything about it.
Extremely poor customer service overall, lead to customer confusion and lies about a promise. I will never buy a car from this dealership again. For a simple car wash, they asked you leave your car for the whole day. Total poor customer services.

Sucks and stupid. last week they called me and asked me to bring the car to do oil change. Today morning, I drove to toyota and let them do the service. an hour later, one customer service girl told me that the kilo-meters of my car was not high enough to do the service but still charged me of 84 dollars...... f it

A very negative experience so far and it's only been 3 weeks:

1 - We were looking for a blue Prius V but they only had silver and white vehicles on the lot. Our dealer told us they could call other Toyota dealers in the area for a blue one. After telling us they called everyone, we were informed that no blue Prius V's were available in the area. I decided to call around myself and found 2 dealers within Ottawa who said "Sure, we have some on the lot right now." When I pointed this out, they feigned disbelief and went ahead and had the car picked up from the dealer I pointed them to.
2 - We picked our car up on a Wednesday and told them we were headed to Florida on Friday. Our salesman, Duleep, essentially handed the keys to us without any instructions whatsoever. True, it was very close to closing time but I was surprised at how little he knew of the car and not even able to explain anything.
3 - As we reached the 401 on our way to Florida, the GPS functionality disappeared. Not a big problem normally but it is a big problem an hour into a trip to Florida. I phoned Mendes service and was told it must be faulty and I would need to find a Toyota dealer somewhere in the States to fix it. Spending a day at a Toyota dealership with my whole family and our friends on our way to Florida was not an option. As a result, we picked up a GPS unit at Costco in Syracuse. Btw, a Garmin unit which worked beautifully!
4 - Driving in heavy traffic in South Carolina, the Toyota hood ornament simply detached, banked of the hood and windshield and caused the poor guy behind us to swerve out of the way of the flying ornament. They are kindly replacing the ornament at no charge.
5 - Upon our return, the service person informed us that the "broken" GPS is actually a safety feature whereby all functions that would set a destination in the GPS are turned off unless you pull off the highway, stop the car completely and THEN you can press the buttons. The fact that this was NOT mentioned or explained to us either when we picked the car up OR when we called from the road to explain the problem was unfortunate. I explained to Ray, the service manager that we now had a separate GPS unit that we had to buy because nobody either bothered to mention the "safety feature" or even know about it when we called the service department and he just stared at me and said "What do you want me to do about it? I'm certainly not going to compensate you for your GPS!"

When #1 above happened, I should have immediately gone to any other Toyota dealership but given the short time frame before leaving for our trip and the fact I had already signed the papers, I decided to brush off the dishonesty of saying they called around when they, in fact, did not. Lesson learned and I suppose my follow up problems are justified payback.

Update: They said the hood ornament would take 1 - 2 days to come in and they would call me when it comes in. After 3 weeks, I got fed up and phoned myself. Yep, it had been waiting for me but nobody bothered to call. Let's just say I was not in the least bit surprised.

We bought a pre-own Matrix in 2014. Service was pretty good. Salesman never put pressure on us, he was very professional and made sure he followed Toyota's customer service manual.
I still go there to get my car serviced. So far, so good. They really take care of you.

We bought a 2014 Toyota Sienna with the help of Chris Hesson at Mendes. I was very impressed with the pre-sale experience and how Chris was up front, honest and patient with us. We never felt pressured once and Chris has been very helpful with us even after we took the van home....I would recommend Chris and Mendes any day.

Thank you Mendes for making the purchase of my first car an awesome one! After dealing with a bunch of bull**** at Tony Graham Toyota on Hunt Club, I went to see Frank at Mendes and he was amazing. He was honest, insightful and laid the facts out for me. I never felt pressured or cheated, and he always knew when it was time to give us a second to talk and discuss the numbers, etc. Frank was on the ball, felt my sense of urgency and was more than helpful and communicative in the whole process. When I went to see him to finalize everything the other staff even remembered I was there to see him and greeted me. I will tell every single person who I know that is purchasing a new Toyota to go to Mendes in Ottawa. This has been an easy and efficient process with a staff that knows what they're doing and appreciates your business. Thank you Mendes, I couldn't be happier!
