After what felt like an eternity doing our due diligence and going to every dealership and test driving every comparable car we finally ended at UJ Toyota. As divorce loomed- yet at the same time enjoying a much needed vacation from the kids while we shopped for cars, my wife and I strolled in to Toyota knowing the product is reliable and true to its name. We were greeted by Mustafa and the rest as they say is history. Well mannered, very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Every other dealership pushed their agenda and product to the point of exhaustion. There were no secret meetings between employees, no pushy phone calls and the team allowed you to let the product speak for itself. Mustafa being on both sides of the product from technician to sales was a wealth of information and confidence without being arrogant. We thank you for your time and expertise. My wife and I have the seats reclined and the sun roof open as we enjoy the the next few minutes before we enter the chaos that is our house! My family and I have purchased our cars here many times. Customer service and sales associated are always going above and beyond in helping you find the right type of vehicle for your own needs. I recently purchased a Lexus RX350 from toyota and dealt with Mark the manager and he made sure everything was in great condition before the car leaves the lot. Although on the day of pickup, the car was not that clean and he did apologize and mentioned that they only have one detailer on site due to covid, which is understandable. Mark, unfortunately has left and took on another role in Mississauga/Toronto and so he left us with another sales manager named Jason Mladen who went above and beyond and sincerely apologize for not having the vehicle spotless. He offered to get it detailed on another day that was convenient for myself and offered me another vehicle for the day while the car was getting detailed. I must say that Upper James Toyota never disappoints and will always find a way to make it up to their customers. Overall, I am happy with everything and would recommend heading over to Toyota Upper James to see their vehicles.

I booked my appointment with Upper James Toyota because my RAV4 has a leak in the left front axle seal, the scheduled my for 10:30AM on a Thursday, all good. I got there at 10:10AM and the service rep told me they were about 1.5 hrs behind schedule and that it would be about 2 hours before they could diagnose my car. At this point I decided I best go home and wait there, during this COVID-19 times better stay home right?

As it turns out the dealership has suspended it's courtesy shuttle service because of COVID-19, could some please explain to me how is it safer to have people waiting for their cars for hours in the little waiting room at the dealership rather that to take them home in the shuttle one at a time?
Anyways I ask the Service rep if they are offering a cab to costumers that want to wait home and the rep says they don't do that, ok, so I go ask the Service Manager Mike for the same thing and after some discussion back and forth he agreed to pay for a cab to take me home and "get me out of there" as Mike said it, but only after making me feel like an idiot asking for something unreasonable.

Maybe I'm in the wrong here and shouldn't expect good costumer service from Toyota Dealerships in Ontario during COVID-19 times, but the way I see it they should could themselves lucky to still have a jobs when millions of us are getting laid off.

Oh and as for the car as it turns out the problem was what I had already told them, a hydraulic leak of the left front axel seal, but guess what, they didn't have the parts and have to order them in, so I have to go back and do it all over again, so I'm gonna go try my luck at a different shop, maybe Ancaster, perhaps they will appreciate my business a little more there.

All services are good except: I visited and had to have service in the days of emergency state of Ontario for covid19. But the workers at counter Not wearing gloves, took and returned my keys. I had to use alcohol to clean and disinfect my keys, for the same concept, i think the inside of my car was also touched by workers without gloves. Not sure how many people there touched but al least two.
Other parts are good: good telephone communication, good time arrangement, good smiling. Car is good after fixed by them.

Words can not describe how amazing my experience was with Upper James Toyota!

I was needing to get out of my lease with Chevrolet that was up in October of 2020.

The first person I met when arriving was Tiffany. I honestly wish there was more stars that I could give just to her for everything she did for me. I was wanting a 2020 Rav 4 Hybrid XSE (one of the most popular and hardest models to get your hands on). Tiffany and my self had stayed in touch for a year until it was the right time to move forward with breaking my lease with Chevy. Finally I had decided it was time to order my RAV in. The amount of effort and time that Tiffany spent with helping me figure everything out is outstanding, I honestly cant thank her enough.

After turning down multiple deals and offers over the year, with it not being the right time to break my lease or order my RAV, I never once felt uncomfortable like some dealerships make you feel. Tiffany was always so happy and welcoming, very friendly, very understanding of my situation and always willing to go above and beyond to make everything an enjoyable easy process.

Thank you to the entire Upper James Toyota team for making this possible for me. Especially to Adam and Bryson for there time and effort into helping me get out of my lease with chevy and making numbers work.

But most importantly thank you to Tiffany for always making me feel welcomed and part of the Toyota family. And for making this all possible. Without her help, I would not be the proud owner of my 2020 RAV 4 Hybrid XSE. The first thing she told me was we will make this happen, and here we are. Do they have cars that are reliable and reasonably priced, sure, they are a dealership after all, but I wasn't on the hunt for a new car, I was on the hunt for one of those round donut shaped bundles of breakfasty joy, I'm talking bagels son, I looked in the window of EVERY vehicle they had and found not one since bakery fresh piece of heaven. Maybe it's because I went late at night as I was walking by, maybe its cause it's a car dealership, either way, no bagels.

The service department is horrible, I called ahead to see about getting my tire fixed and they told me to come but when I got there they wouldn't! They figured out they couldn't fix the tire! Why not? Because they didn't ask me any details over the phone and I trusted that they would be able to help, bad mistake! I wasted over an hour just to be back at square one and they didn't even seem to care or try to find a solution for me. Also when I called they said it would be a free fix but when I got there they said it would be almost $30 (if they could've fixed it!)

Ian missed the point of this review, why was I told to come out if you didn't have all the information you needed? Also trying to blame me for not knowing how tire repair works when I called specifically to avoid being in this situation? That is also horrible customer service! What makes the service department horrible is that I left without any options to get anything resolved. If they actually cared about servicing my car they would have provided some information on how to proceed with fixing my issue.

The service department was wonderful. I had a problem with my brakes that was highly unusual. Jennifer explained it to me well enough that I could go to the dealer who had done the original work (where I used to live 6 months ago). They couldn’t correct it for various reasons. So I went back to Upper James and Jennifer got me into the schedule before my big trip and walked me through it the whole way. I understood what needed to be done and how long it would take. The repair was done under warranty when It technically might not have been a warranty issue and the brakes are finally working smoothly again!! I’m confident that they fixed more than just what was showing wear so that it won’t happen again. The shuttle service is great too! I trust them more than my old dealer of 7 years.

I was visiting in Hamilton to work at a convention when my Echo decided it had lost the will to live. I'd already been researching new cars and luckily knew exactly what I wanted but found myself stranded far away from the Toyota dealership I'd established a relationship with, and the idea of walking onto a sales floor via a car that needed to be towed made me apprehensive. In the past, I've had unpleasant experiences with car sales teams, and I worried they might circle me like vultures, attempting to take advantage of my situation.

I decided to contact them online first from the convention on the Saturday to get a sense of what their team was like, and feel out how they would respond to my predicament, especially because I wanted to come in, test drive, and negotiate a purchase on a new RAV4 all on the Monday so I could finally drive home.

I hope the upper management and owners of the dealership recognize the talent they've hired on their sales floor, especially Bryson who was apparently just promoted to assistant manager of new sales. Through emails and text messages - during AND outside of work hours - Bryson was able to read my personality, address my concerns, use humour in kind to my own, and convey a sense of honesty and trustworthiness just in written, prompt correspondence. Because of Bryson's professional yet appropriately playful manner, I decided to risk staying another unplanned day in the city (instead of getting my car towed to the dealership I was familiar with, which I was covered to do for free).

On Monday, I went to the dealership but Bryson was unavailable and I was going to meet with the manager Curtis instead. Again, I had a sense of apprehension. While I had established the basis of a working relationship with Bryson, I didn't know what to expect. And once again, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself talking with a personable, friendly, forthright individual who understood my situation but took action to put me at ease and make what could've been a stressful, aggressive process as simple, efficient and painless as possible. And while it was still a business deal, it was a relaxed conversation about what I wanted and what I didn't want, and without a sense of strong arming what I was willing to pay vs the commission he could make.

And the rest of the team I dealt with, from Joe who took me through every feature & aspect of the car (without a trace of condescension, and instead brimming with patience as well as an ease of interaction/ability to convey detailed information clearly with a personal warmth), to Adam (I hope I got that right...my apologies if I am naming the wrong person...Key topics in our conversation included his wife, horror actors and collectables such as light sabres if that helps management clarify the employee I mean) with the, let's face it, unpleasant task of trying to sell extended warranties, which he managed to deliver in a very admirable no-pressure manner, and thanks to him my licensing went through WAY faster than anyone thought possible.

So seriously, if you are planning to buy a new car and you're considering a Toyota, and you live near or around Hamilton, it's worth heading straight to the Upper James Dealership. The only thing that was missing from my experience was a room that provided hammocks and an alcoholic beverage.

Bottomline: I am OVER THE MOON about my new (to me!) 2013 Yaris Hatchback purchased in April 2016. I was impressed by all the staff I dealt with during the purchase of my car. I have owned three Toyotas prior and already this is my favourite one! The car looks and drives amazing. Lastly, I was formerly a Burlington Toyota purchaser and I am completely won over to Upper James Toyota.

My Buying Experience: My salesperson, John Buchanan, was awesome: enthusiastic, attentive without being pushy and he showed great patience and respect while I tried to figure out over a couple of days if I was going to buy or not. I really got the feeling that he cared about my getting this particular car. He definitely fueled my excitement about getting this car. John outshone my previous salesperson from BT. When it came time to make the deal, I worked with Mark McGrath, the assistant sales manager, who is knowledgeable, personable and who I felt gave me a very fair price - I was very happy with this experience too! Finally, I met James Mladen, Sales Manager, Previously Owned who was also professional and respectful - a great team you have, James!

I purchased a 2015 Corolla S last August at an annual gala sale event. My sales person, Mark McGrath, was remarkably knowlegeable about every vehicle that interested me. The Corolla S worked perfectly for me - it was reasonably sporty looking and handling, came with a lot of features i wanted at a price that he made sure would work for me. When it came time for my 8,000 km check up, everything went smoothly from setting the appointment to servicing the car to completing it when promised. This is a very efficient service team. This is the fourth Toyota I've owned, and while I've enjoyed them all, Mark and the team at Upper James makes this one really stand out. Thank you all for your great work.

Bought a new 2014 Corolla back in February, 2014 from Mark. Purchasing process went smoothly with all questions answered quickly and satisfactorily. Follow-up service was good. The car's been great; a minor initial problem with the A/C system was handled quickly and easily under warranty, and no problems with anything else with the car since. Upkeep/maintenance service under warranty has been flexible and easy for scheduling.

Awesome Atmosphere! Went and was helped within the first two minutes(NONE PRESURED) I waited in the dealership as the sales guy went over to the used lot and pulled the car up for me. This was above average nice, being that the used building is located beside the dealership and I got to stay warm waiting  During the test drive Curtis Milazzao was very helpful and informative. Once it came down to the numbers everything was explained and clear. I feel that with Curtis helping and pushing for me I earned a outstanding deal! Thanks to everyone at Upper James Toyota for helping me into my Camry! I love it
