A couple of weeks ago I was returning back to Nova Scotia via Corner Brook. Near Steady Brook my tire warning light came on my 2018 Lexus. I pulled over quickly finding the my rear tire was flat. I arrived at Western Toyota at a little after 4 on Thursday. Upon checking all my tires needed replacement as all had major damage on the inside tread wall, I now known that this is a common thing for the Fsport small wall tires. The first results was that they could not get the tires in the CB area and it may take up to two weeks. I was then told that the Female Manger had heard about my problem and was working on it. A few minutes later I was told the tires were being overnight form St John’s and my car would be ready sometime the next day. I was provided with a loaner car, and before I left the Lady.Manager asked me if I needed anything else.
I have owned vehicles for over 50 years the last several being Toyota and Lexus. I have never have had this type of service in the four Provinces that I have lived in in Canada. If I lived in NL this would be my one and only garage.
Thanks again for your assistance and ending my trip to NL on such a positive note. Perry Nickerson

I had a car breakdown emergency during my time visiting Corner Brook. I spoke with a friendly and helpful staff member (I believe her name was Yvonne) at Western Toyota the evening my car broke down and asked if they were able to help get me road ready/look at my car ASAP the next morning so I could get back on the road in the afternoon to where I needed to be for work by the next evening.

I was assured they would be happy to assist and had my rental car towed to their place of business that same evening, to be looked at/fixed the next morning as soon as possible.

I spoke with a different customer service member again the next morning and was asked by that agent what was wrong with my car? Even though I had already called and spoke with Yvonne AND had left a note with a brief description of my issue with my car. I was told by this agent that they had a "staffing issue" (who DOESN'T having staffing issues these days?) with their mechanics and they might not be able to look at my car until the afternoon. I reiterated the importance of my car being road ready for the evening in order to make it back to my workplace/the timely nature of my issue.

I called Western Toyota again two hours later around 1100 after not hearing anything and was told by a third customer service member that my car hasn't even been looked at yet because of the mechanic being "very busy with appointments," that "sometimes people cancel them or don't show up but everyone has shown up today."

I fully understand and value the nature of having appointments and keeping them, but I did have a car emergency happening, so it would have been nice if they told me first thing in the morning that I would be a lower priority than their regularly scheduled appointments... When I spoke to Western Toyota around 1100 I reiterated AGAIN the importance of my car being road ready ASAP so I could get to work. In the end, I ended up getting my car towed to another independent mechanic instead, who was able to fix my car and get in road ready within an hour of it arriving at his shop. So I paid for a tow truck to the Toyota dealership for nothing...

Overall a very poor experience dealing with Western Toyota. I don't know if it is an issue with staff communication or priority setting that needs to be addressed there. If I had known my car emergency situation would be a lower priority than their regular scheduled service appointments I never would have had my car towed there in the first place and would have researched independent mechanics first thing in the morning.

0/10 would recommended their service shop for roadside emergencies that are time sensitive.

Very disappointed with the level of service. My buddy and I were there around 1 pm today and in on the showroom floor looking at the new tundra pickup,we were there for about 30 minutes and not one staff member could be bothered to speak to us,ask if we needed any help or anything. I was interested in a new tacoma and wanting to talk to a sales rep but left disappointed, guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere

Horrible sales service.
He acted so disinterested in getting our business. Arrogant, acting as if he was doing us a favour.
We order a truck from Matthew Sheppard back on July 4th expecting to wait until Aug to get our order in. Mid Aug we texted him to find out the eta of our truck, after 5 days of waiting on a reply, we were told that the truck was ordered in White not Black as per the build we wanted.
He made no attempt to follow up or remedy the situation…to get the truck we wanted.
Now he’s posting on Facebook (see image) that the exact truck we wanted is on route to the dealership.
Extremely disappointed with the service at Toyota and we will never go back.

I recently visited Western Toyota for some service work on my 2008 Toyota Highlander. I purchased my Toyota in Bc and have been very happy with the vehicle. When I visited Western Toyota I had requested my tow wiring be checked as it has become corroded since moving here a year ago. I was charged 59.98 plus tax and told they would have replaced before they could tell me whether or not it worked. The inquiry was whether it was currently working. If they could not check whether it was working g then why the service charge. They basically told me what I already knew and charged me$ 60.00 for no reason. I talked with the desk, not helpful. I have left a msg for the service mgr. And no return call yet.
Just a note I have 330000k on my vehicle and have never been charged so unnecessarily in 12 years. At other dealerships. On this visit we received an oil change a engine check, that were billed appropriately.

Update: spoke with the mgr. With No resolution. I have sent a photo of my bill to the better business bureau and Toyota Canada.

Had an appointment booked since September because Toyota wanted to check out the chassis. So I drove from St.Anthony on the 9th of December for the appointment at 9am on Monday morning. I showed up early with the thought I may get my truck in early. I checked with the service desk at 8:25 am. The service person took my keys and I asked if it was possible to get in early because I have a 6 hour drive home and it’s winter now I didn’t want to be traveling on a snow covered road in the dark. At 10:00am a Toyota employee talked to me to let me know that it would be at least another 30 minutes or more before they could check my truck.so I sat there for over 2 hours and my truck didn’t even make it inside the garage. I ask for my key, took my truck and left without anything being done, so it cost me 150.00 dollars for gas and I had to spend a nite in corner brook. Thanks Toyota you have now lost a customer. The reason I was given for the slow service was because only 2 personnel could do the job. I’m not sure how it works but I think if there is an appointment made at a certain date and time, that time should be available, not be ignored because Toyota can’t manage appointments. PS there wasn’t even anyone available to go out back to get my truck, so the person I was dealing with at the desk had to go get my truck. The strange thing is there were Toyota all around the coffee station, thanks once again Toyota

Dear General Manager, I'm writing in response to your reply to my husband's review earlier. I am quite surprised that you couldn't locate our file at your Western Toyota Dealership in Corner Brook, NL, as your staff called me by my husband's last name (Jeffery) as soon as I walked in. It was not surprising they probably all know me, as I have been visiting your dealership almost on a weekly basis trying to solve problems. Your dealership couldn't even get the tire pressure sign off after maintenance of any of the vehicles, and suggested they didn't even have sensors! How could your staff possibly not understand when a wheel has a tire pressure sensor??? With one of our vehicles, I have brought it in twice after a regular maintenance recently just to get the tire pressure sign adjusted. Last time I waited for three plus hours just for winter tire change on that vehicle, and after insisting on getting the sensors adjusted, your staff finally got it done, and charged me $134.57 for winter tires change saying they had to spend extra time adjusting the sensors. What an expense for just a winter tire change! Not only that, your staff broke one of the caps on the rim and I had to bring back the car again. Four caps are missing from the winter tires, and your staff didn't even bother to put any caps back on the winter tires when they installed them. The tire pressure signs are still on in our two other vehicles. I am extremely hesitant to bring them back again, as I am worried about my pocket and my vehicles. I am pretty sure you can locate our file. Please call me at any time!

This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. They damage my vehicle or do substandard work most times I get service there. I have three Toyotas and although I love the cars, this dealership is so bad that I will never buy another one. They also refuse to honor warranty repairs - your warranty is basically useless there. Beware, stay away, and get your car serviced elsewhere if you already own a Toyota.
