Very Very pushy staff. Sales staff call on a regular basis after being instructed to not call because you have already purchased a car. Country Hill Toyota will borderline harass you with calls from their sales staff, who do not listen when told to take you off the list and not to call. Even after speaking with unhaggale and their management, sales calls are still received. It is a nice dealership but they have pushy sales and sales harassment tactics which are not good.

Saw a used vehicle on their website and inquired online. Initial impressions were good, the staff were very responsive, went through emails, texts and a phone call regarding the vehicle I was looking at. The problem started when we got to my trade in. I was asked to provide more details and pictures to make the trade-in process smoother and quicker, and too come in for an appointment later on in the evening so that both parties could view each other's vehicles and discuss pricing in an expedited manner. Was even told that we could come earlier because they were free.

When we arrived we were directed to the vehicle we were looking at while they took a look at ours. After 45 minutes of waiting and watching our salesperson dealing with another couple and his two co-workers standing around we had been talked to for a grand total of maybe 5 minutes. This was despite us being asked to make an appointment, having gone through the entire process of exchanging details previously. In the end we ended up waiting for two printed out pages with the vehicles two offered values on them. When we countered with what other dealers had offered us for our trade, our salesman turned around and walked back to the other couple.

We weren't insulted by the offer by any means but we were rather flabbergasted that we went through that entire process, made an "appointment", drove across the city and waited 45 minutes for effectively what could have been communicated via text or phone call; especially given COVID and social distancing measures.

Advice to anyone looking at Country Hills used vehicles; an appointment isn't what you think it means and "selling" is apparently walking away after making your customer wait 45 minutes.

Needed to purchase a new vehicle recently (which is a bit of a challenge in the midst of a pandemic) but these folks made it really easy. Did everything via email and over the phone - had the car delivered to us by their staff - didn't even set foot in the dealership.

And we got a fantastic price on the car (there were multiple other dealerships in the Calgary area who were unwilling or unable to match the price that Country Hills offered on our vehicle.)

Farid and his team treated us very well and we'd recommend them to anyone.

I drove in for an oil and filter change. The crew was friendly, even those not serving me. They told me it would take about 20 minutes so I headed inside to the service lounge. I washed up using their incredibly clean restroom. Afterwards I sat down and made a phone call. It was barely 5 more minutes and the work was completed! From the time I drove in to when I left was barely 15 minutes! I paid the agreed upon amount and headed off with barely an interruption to my day! When I reviewed my receipt they had even checked my vehicle over while it was in there, confirming nothing visually wrong with it. Prices are fair here, and cheaper than the express lube stores around the city. I definitely recommend using the services Country Hills Toyota offers!

***New Highlander Review – Buyer Beware**

I took my brand-new SUV from Country Hills Toyota (CHT), directly to my garage. My automatic lift gate failed to close, you can see it in the video. I immediately drove it back to the dealership, but was unable to replicate the issue. I continued to have this issue during the 3-year warranty period.

After I did some simple internet research, the hatch appeared to be inoperative when the weather was cold, which was later confirmed by CHT. By this time, I was near the end of my warranty, I notified CHT service center of my findings and still I was told that there was nothing they could do if I was unable to replicate the situation.

My SUV was now was out of warranty, but I was able to replicate the rear lift gate malfunctioning. A case was opened up with Toyota Canada. The blame game between Toyota Canada and CHT begun, leaving me with a $150 repair bill.

Fast forward months later, and SURPRISE the hatch malfunctioned. This time I spoke to Brian Schmidt the GM and again with Sean the service manager at CHT. I was told that the left strut had failed and needed to be replaced.

I spoke with Brian that I wanted my entire hatch fixed and needed to be able to use my trunk. He told me that Toyota Canada will perform a goodwill repair and CHT will cover a portion and I will have to fork up $550 +tax to have the right and left struts replaced.

After notifying Brian that I will not be paying for repairs that was clearly not my fault, I was called by the service team indicated there was a “revision” was made. They determined that the “left strut completely failed and required replacement” and all of a sudden it was determined that they could not find an issue with right strut; therefore, would not provide reimbursement (for the right strut).

I was rudely, cautioned by Brian that CHT was doing me a favour by contributing to the repairs and he was unwilling to fix the entire back hatch which could come up to $6000! He advised that this is a Toyota Canada’s issue and this is a manufacturing defect and it is not fair that his dealership eats the cost. I was informed that it’s recommended that I replace both struts, because CHT cannot guarantee that the right strut might give up at a later time. At this point I was confused, why am I replacing a part that I was told was completely fine? I’m assuming they put cost, over quality of their work.

I was told by Brian that it’s my call and the left strut would be completely covered by CHT and Toyota Canada. The right strut ..well he would look at the bill and get back to me, but optimistically said it would be “painless”. He was to speak with service department and call me back—this did not transpire. I have not heard back from this GM as of yet.

I contacted Brian several times and was completely ignored; I did not want to pay a blind bill. Keep in mind, I was given a very short period to make a decision by the service department or this “offer” expires. Finally, the service department called to notify amount. I ended up paying $600 to fix the right strut and $150 from my prior repair, which was very disappointing.

At the end of this, I went 5 years unable to use my SUV for simple things through-out the years ex. airport trips, snowboarding, groceries etc. I was punished with a $150 and $600 repair bill, car rentals, loss of time from work, unnecessary inconvenience, loss of value and random strangers helping me close my trunk.

I felt the need to share this exhaustive experience, and I am very disappointed in the final outcome and unprofessionalism of some of the CHT team itself.

Generally good service, and typically good availability for appointments, but I've had some issues over the years. Recently, I got my tires swapped and they missed that the tire pressure monitoring system needed to be programed for my new tires. This caused the warning light to go on and resulted in another trip to the shop to get it sorted. They also have insanely high prices for batteries if they are needed to be mounted in the trunk.

I usually get good service here but in January 2019 I brought the vehicle in for regular maintenance schedule and got substandard service. I paid for a maintenance package that should have included tire rotation but they decided it wasn't necessary. In my opinion it was, and I paid for it so it should have been done. I also had some sensor lights on for rear tire. They told me it was a 500 part special order since the car was 10 years old. I decided against it and started planning for a new vehicle. Later this year I took the car to another place for an oil change. The mechanic mentioned that the wiring to the rear sensor was disconnected and he hooked it back up for me. Now the sensor error light is off and my car is functioning optimally! Very disappointing service at Country Hills, not sure if that was a "one-off" or if that will be expected next time I go there? I feel for them, it can't be cheap running that big building and having lots of staff to pay. I hope that is not why they cut corners on my service experience.

I bought my last 5 or 6 cars from this dealer since we like to switch cars every 2 or 3 years. We bought them with this dealer mostly because they always offered free lifetime oil change to their customers. Last car though, the financing person said that they no longer offered the free lifetime oil change but that if we bought the Platinum Extended Care Plan, we would be cover for all complete services for 3 years and we will have free lifetime oil change. We bought this plan for more than $1000. Now they tell us that we do not have any more free regular complete services when we haven't reached the 3 yrs or kilometers yet. We asked why and they said that the regular services were not covered with this plan, only car defects and that they offered 6 free services as a courtesy, but this was not part of the plan they sold us. This was a total different story of what we were told by the Financing person who sold us the plan. We said ok, so now we have to pay for regular services, but what about the free oil change for a lifetime that we were offered as part of the plan? And they said "well, if you do not have that in written then you do not have them". We trusted them since we had the free service on all our past cars with them!!! They just kept saying sorry about that , sorry about that, but wouldn't do anything to help. Long story short, do not trust them, they would say anything just to sell their extra plans! They lost a long time customer and we are taking our business somewhere else.Their loss!

In the past 8 years I have purchased 2 new Avalons with the free oil change package and had all services done at Country Hills Toyota which has gone very well until this last visit which was today. An oil change was due so I drove from out of town to get it done. Upon checking in, I was informed that a service was also due now which I was told at my last visit, however, it was several months ago and I had forgotten. I was willing to have it done today but was told that they couldn't accommodate because it's "tire season" and they didn't have time. I was escorted to the service desk where I booked the next available appointment a week from now. I browsed the showroom for about 20 minutes while waiting for my oil change, when the service agent showed up and told me they refused to change my oil until the recommended service was completed. He didn't give a damn about my loyal history with the dealership or that I drove there from out of town for nothing and I felt extremely insulted. I truly love Toyota vehicles but after today I can assure you my next one will not be purchased at Country Hills Toyota.

Said I was planning to get a car by the end of the summer and they literally said come back closer to the end of the summer as they obviously weren't taking me seriously. Was looking at the 86 and was considering trading in my 335 for it but they wanted to see the 335 and "appraise it" before they even let me take the 86 out. I said I would go get it but felt disrespected by the Asian sales manager and decided not to waste my time with this dealer. Probably a sign from the universe not to downgrade from a 335 to a 86 and deal with the terrible management here!

The staff were professional and ensured that my car deal as delivered to my expectations. When the car wasn't ready as expected, they provided a loaner to me (I had to refill it with gas though). They communicated the process for me and made sure my wishes were respected.

My mind wasn't set on purchasing a vehicle, my original intention was to look at my options and go from there. Just wanted to post about my experience last week. I booked my appointment online which was quick and easy. Upon checking in, the service staff were incredible. The checkin process was extremely quick. They walked me through the service, talked about options for work to be done that day vs later, listened to my needs and ensured things went well. The car was expected to be finished by 3 but the service rep indicated that they would do their best for earlier. I took the shuttle home and at 1015, I received a call that the service was finished, cost less than the estimate (yeah!) and a shuttle was ready to come get me. The service experience was incredible and will continue to bring my car to Country Hills Toyota!
