I've got two subaru's - used to live in Toronto area where they were serviced. Now live in PTBO & have to go to Peterborough Subaru - a terrible experiance.
I'll drive to Whitby next time or use a local garage rather than deal with these people who don't understand what customer service is about.

the red haired guy i talked to was clueless.I felt like i was putting him
out as waited 10 min for him to get some keys and we left.
I had been to one on Barrie and Belleville and sense of professional
service is night ad day. Live here but will buy in Belleville as they seem
more eager for my business.

After the third visit we went to Subaru and it was the only dealership that anyone bothered to come out to see if they could help us. We were talking to Phillip Jolicoeur and he was most helpful. Gave us numbers to go away and look at. No pressure. A relationship was formed and as a result we purchased a 2019 Outback which we just love. Any contact from the girl who answers the phone to Phillip was very favourable. We would recommend the dealership as well as Phillip

We were in the market for a new vehicle. Visited 4 car lots on a Saturday and the only one where personnel came out to help us was Peterborough Subaru. Phillip Jolicoeur came out and asked if he could help. Went an got what information we asked for and no pressure just helped. We left with info and asked others about Subaru's and got nothing but good recommendations. Went back and Phil once again looked after us and we then took a test drive . We decided to purchase a vehicle and the process was made easy as Phil assisted us thru the process. From the girl who answers the phone to anyone who assisted us it has been a pleasant experience. We picked the vehicle up today and are very happy with the vehicle and all the help we have had. Great relationship has been formed and will certainly be dealing with them from now on.

Update (Dec 21): really appreciate the advice team in looking at my rims and letting me know the issue without an appt, also the shuttle service is great!

Bought my very first car at Subaru, Liam
and Luke were very helpful and informative on everything I needed answers for. I needed a vehicle within two days and they were able to provide me that. Liam was able to provide me some great incentives which helped with my decision. I love my Subaru and will definitely buy another one in the future!

Update (May): I’m not sure if it’s my bad luck or something else but been having internal issues with my car that requires me to go to a dealership and have them check it out and replaced. Good thing I’m still under warranty but not good that it’s happened. First was something to do with a corroded wire near my front bumper that had to be replaced, second had to do with my SRS airbag. I’m a very busy person and don’t always have the time to bring my car in to get checked considering that it’s only 6 months old.

This dealer advertises with Autotrader. Nov 2021 has an ad for a New 2020 Ascent but when you contact the dealer, car is unavailable? I saw it as an opportunity to buy an older model at a reduced price but the truth is they use it as a method to attract customers, and as for the car "it is unavailable, sorry about that".

Addendum: dealer auto reply and sales rep did not disclose "error" on initial response, why was that the case?

Had an issue with an oil change I performed on a new /used Subaru Outback my daughter purchased from a used car dealer in the city to move out west with literally the next day, I drained the transmission fluid by mistake. I called the dealer and as it was near closing they could not get it done. I needed it fixed the next day early, they were busy but Shaun in service said he would get me fixed up ASAP. Had the car towed there and dropped off, it was ready by 10:30am next day. I am truly grateful for the fantastic service they provided me and for the great interaction with the staff I dealt with, my daughter was on her way to Vancouver with only a small delay.

Received a call from "Matt" who stated he was from another dealer but working for this dealer for a big sales event, following my checking my vehicle trade-in on their site some time ago. He told me on the phone that the values given on the online trade-in were lower than what he could offer, if I agreed to bring in my car for him to take some photos of. I explained I'd only be interested in a new car if he could offer a value that did not carry negative equity into the new vehicle, which I understood is unlikely. He said that it would be worth it if I came in, so my partner and I went. On arrival, Matt asked if he could take my car for a drive. I presumed a test drive for valuation, so I gave him the keys. When he arrived back, he had returned with some drinks and food in a plastic bag. My Toyota tracks drives and it appears he went to a store. He then set me up with a local salesman, who showed me the vehicles I was interested in. He disappeared with my keys for about 15 minutes, and then came out to offer me exactly what the online value was. When I expressed that was not what I said on the phone, he said "well you aren't really interested in a new car anyway, are you?" I reiterated my interest, if the numbers made sense. He stated he would wait for the "auction" trade-in value that he would get in "15-20 minutes", "get the numbers" for a new vehicle, and call me back. That was on Monday and I was never called back. I felt this whole situation was incredibly disrespectful, and disappointing. My partner is on her way to getting her license and I planned to get her a vehicle from this dealer, but I can assure you that will not happen now.

My Fiance and I went in looking at vehicles and Liam showed us a few different options, he was extremely knowledgable about what vehicles they had on the lot that would be suited for us and our needs. We found one that we loved and Sandra helped us out tremendously. She kept the vehicle for us even though my Boss was on vacation and we had to wait almost 2 weeks to get my workplace verified and once that happened the process moved quickly and easily even though I had some bad credit hits on my score. I went in and test drove a vehicle recently and initially it was a positive experience. After returning the vehicle I sat with Hernan Lagos and we agreed on a sale price and waited to hear back to see what it needed to be safetied. When I didn't hear back I contacted him to be told that he sold it to someone else. This is very poor customer service and just shady business. I'll shop elsewhere for my next vehicle.

When I have had work done here it was fine. But I’ve been trying to book a recall service appointment for my 2010 Forester for weeks. I’ve left 3 messages, tried booking thru the website and chat features, and two days ago resorted to sending an email to Subaru Canada.
I honestly don’t know what’s happening. This is the closest dealership to us, but I’m getting the impression they’ve decided not to respond. Surely, it’s not a unintentional error. Will make a call to Subaru Canada, and make the drive to Belleville. Trying times for customer service, I know...but it really does seem this is intentional neglect. Who knows. But sadly you’ve lost a customer with an older Subaru that likely needs work going forward. I’ll be okay paying Belleville for the work. Just sucks to feel totally overlooked as a reasonable customer of a brand that I’ve always liked.

First, anyone wants to buy a used car here at "Peterborough Subaru", I really don't recommend it.

Dealers just say that they understand everything related to customers' concerns only for sale, but they will not be responsible for engine defects within a month of the minimum warranty after the sale. It will induce other sales with the excuse that it can't be helped because it is a used car. They might rather help if the car stops on the road. But if not that kind of situation, no matter how serious a defect may occur within a month of purchasing a vehicle, they will say it is not serious and therefore has nothing to do with the warranty. They have no idea why consumers who want used cars want to pay more for their purchases at official stores than at other general stores. If they understood, they should at least not have created such irresponsibility and excuses to pass the buck on to consumers. Don't trust the dealers, mechanics, and managers in Peterborough Subaru.

I am really seriously worried about you who think about buying a used car here. I hope this review will help everyone who wants to buy a used car.

Was wanting to test drive a car at this location as i am looking for a car and was told that i wasn't able to test drive due to bad weather and no snow tires on vehicles ( roads were completely dry today) as i test drove other Subaru's around Peterborough from other dealer ships with no snow tires on . This is the 3rd time I’ve asked to test a car from this location and been told because of this reason i couldn’t . If the dealership cared about selling cars they would have vehicles in there dealership with snow tires on them available to test drive. Not impressed with this dealership and will drive into whitby or minden to purchase a car if i decided on buying a subaru

Stay away from this dealership for service. Although I’ve heard good things about the sales department. But DO NOT COME FOR SERVICE. I’ve been there two times. The first time was regarding a timing belt change and the service department said they don’t need to change the water pump or pulleys that come in the kit and it’s not something they did here. So I went to other garages and they all said absolutely you do, if any of the parts fail the engine is toast you’re already changing the belt you may as well replace what’s included.

The second time I went in I thought maybe the first visit was just a mishap. So I took my car in as it was making weird noise in the engine but luckily my car is still under warranty and they wanted to charge me for everything and said I may get money back but may not and that I’d have to pay for them to look at it.

So after that I went to a different Subaru dealership and it was a totally different experience. I told them it was under warranty and they verified in their system that and replaced the part with no issues. They were helpful in every way. I don’t recommend Peterborough Subaru to anyone, go elsewhere it’s worth the drive.

Low volume Subaru dealer, and it shows. Recently, I test drove a 2019 Impreza I was prepared to buy. After appraising my trade in at 2-3k less than 3 other dealerships, I asked the Sales Associate if he could get the numbers closer to finalize a deal. He advised he would speak with the Sales Manager and get back to me. After 2 weeks without contact, I purchased the car at another dealership.

5 STARS! Recently bought a 2019 Forester and the experience has been great. Ask for Liam-- he is a great guy who will do everything he can to make sure you get the vehicle you want. I purchsed my Crosstrek a year ago and was impressed by the salesman. He was very friendly, professional and helpful.

No high pressure sales tactics were encountered in until my meeting with the sales manager. What a nightmare! He tried to sell me everything from $900 rust protection ( already included in warrantee ) to tire insurance and theft insurance. He said Subaru would pay $5000 in addition to what my insurance company would pay. However, he didn't have any promo materials to explain this policy.

Check,your sales invoice before signing. All these add one really add up to big costs to you and huge profits for them. I spent 20 minutes refusing all these extras when I should have got up and walked out.

I did receive an unpleasant surprise when I took the car in for its mandatory big maintenance . Befiore I purchased the car, I asked how much this would be and told " not much". Get a number! It was over 450.00! Even BMW doesn't charge that much. That alone would have prevented me from buying th vehicle.
