Worst experience trying to close a lease buy-out. Dealt with Chad Bernard who itemized the following for a lease buy-out: Air & Freight $100, Misc Fee $279 & Lease Buyout Fee (LBF) $699 for a total of $1078 in fees. $1078 to close out a lease! This does not include a safety check or any fees associated with registering the vehicle. The buy-out fees seemed unreasonable.

When asked, Chad promptly dropped the fees for Air & Freight and Misc - citing that they were put there by mistake. I would expect that at a minimum that in preparing the invoice it is checked (or it's an attempt at trying to fleece the customer).

When asked about the $699 Lease Buy-out amount, he said this the standard dealership fee. When challenged that there was no provision in the lease agreement for this fee, he came back with the standard response "we've been doing this for three months". In email correspondence, Chad represented himself to be the Finance Manager (he's a sales associate); just be honest in your dealings. When pressed on the LBF, he was going to refer me to his Finance Manager! When it appeared that we were not going to close at $699, Chad began to get rude and interrupt me. Not how I expect to be treated as a customer, not how I will tolerate being treated as a customer. I asked him to have his Finance Manager, Giulia Calderone, call me back. I also left a message for her on her voice mail; two messages in all. A customer should not have to much more than leave a message for a call-back. As of ten days later, no call from Giulia at Ogilvie Subaru.

I called Toyota Credit (they handle the leasing for Subaru) asking if I could settle the buyout with them directly thereby avoiding the LBF. They advised that they are not equipped to handle this kind of transaction; I was told that it needed to be done through a dealership. What I did find was that the file could be transferred to another Subaru dealership that has a lower LBF.

I spoke with a very pleasant and courteous Mark Evans at Otto's Subaru: their LBF was $299!

Car Servicing

"Not worthy of any stars...Brought my 2013 WRX to be..." - SubuGirl17
Not worthy of any stars...Brought my 2013 WRX to be serviced for 3 recalls and a blown engine (recall known for engine failure), my extended warranty got denied because they said it’s a manufacture warranty... my car sat in the dealership lot for over two months with nothing being done. The service manager reacted in a highly unprofessional manner when I questioned him about why nothing had been done and why I hadn’t received so much as a courtesy call or email to inform me of the status of my car. My keys got thrown across his table and I was instructed to make arrangements to get my car off his lot... and to find out later that he had flagged my car’s VIN # so that no other dealership could touch it!! Subaru Canada denied my claim because the manager didn’t bother getting back to me regarding 4 receipts I was missing and went ahead and just sent the ones he had... regardless.. his negligence cost me my car..They wasted my time and caused me a lot of stress and anxiety not to mention all the money I had to pay for a rental...Adding insult to injury, I still owe $9200 on my 2013 and it’s no longer even on the road!!!!! This has left a very bitter taste in my mouth! Word of advice to whoever reads this... STAY CLEAR OF OGILVIE SUBARU! Being a true Subaru lover and thanks to all the staff at Otto’s Subaru, I am once again a proud owner of a 2020 WRX!!! I will always cherish the many good memories of my 2013 WRX...which was murdered by Ogilvie Subaru!! RIP SUBUBU 2013-2020

Very satisfied with my experience at buying a Subaru. Lourdes Berthelet was very helpful and pleasant. She took the time to show us all the features of the vehicle before we bought it and again on the day we picked it up.

Recommend avoiding this dealership.

Have been buying parts for my Subaru from this dealership since 2017. Today, I brought in a price quote from another dealer as I’m shopping for a new vehicle and asked if they could match and/or beat it. Out of respect to minimize close interactions during COVID-19, I indicated I wasn’t interested in a test drive or wasting their time. Salesperson took my quote directly to management, came back a few minutes later and didn’t even bother siting back at their desk. Instead they told me this quote made no sense and it must be a mistake as the vehicle in question is not even available. Threw the papers at me while standing in front of me and told me to “have a great day” as they walked away to another salesperson’s desk.

Thanks for saving me the trouble of not having to deal with your dealership ever again and avoiding an expensive mistake.

The dealership made a paperwork error which is affecting my credit rating. They continue to bill me for my old vehicle that was transfered to them in addition to the new vehicle.

In the last 3 months they have failed to rectify the matter despite admitting it was their fault.

I keep calling and the managers (Rodrigues and Hunter) however they do not return my calls.

I was told they would sort out this issue but they haven't in 3 months and as a result I DO NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone.

If a ZERO STAR rating was possible I would rate them as such.

Very pleasant buying experience, especially compared to the last time I bought a car. Sales and finance people were helpful and professional, and were not overly pushy or aggressive. Nothing bad to say really. If every car buying experience went down like this, perhaps car dealerships wouldn't have the reputation they do...

They are lazy persons they don't really care you and they are not answering phones. I bought the car and after payment they show their real face. They send me 3 different locations to pick up and each one is 30km.

I was in the market for a 2020 Subaru WRX Sport-tech RS at the end of June. These are not easy to find.

I contacted Ogilvie Subaru to take out a WRX for a test drive. They were able to arrange this for me on short notice (near the end of day on a Friday) and I took a WRX Sport out.

Chad, the sales rep who helped me, was friendly, knowledgable and professional. He recommended a very good route to take to see how the car would perform. When I came back they had the Sport-tech RS ready for me to take a look at. One of the managers, Steve was also very knowledgeable about the WRX and addressed questions I had about the technical aspects of the car.

It was a no pressure process to purchase this car. Giuliana was very helpful with financing and kept me updated throughout.

There was one minor issue when I went to pick up the car. Unfortunately, some of the rims had some minor scratches. It was unclear how or when this happened but Chad and Ian, the general manager, were very understanding, empathetic and professional. They were able to get an entire set of replacement rims and tires for me within a couple of weeks (impressive given COVID-19) and had them installed promptly.

Overall, the performance of the WRX is outstanding and it’s a fun car to drive.

I’m very happy with the customer service I’ve received from Ogilvie Subaru and recommend them.

Kudos to Arik for assisting me with my new purchase. Arik is an outstanding salesperson who is friendly, courteous, professional, accommodating, has a great sense of humour, and is honest. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better! Ogilvie Subaru is very fortunate to have him! Thanks again Arik! I love my new ride!

Found a vehicle on kijiji autos this morning matching our family’s requirements. The add listed the vehicle as fair value (1k over average selling price). Called and scheduled an appointment for a test drive and was ready to buy the vehicle without much negotiation. After the test drive the sale’s associate indicated that the pre-tax/service fee price was 3k more than what was listed on the add (so, 4k over average selling price – as per kijiji data). After making us wait 20mins he came back and alleged a clerical error on the website. As I’m writing this review, the add remains unchanged on Kijiji Autos. Subaru Olgilvie should be ashamed of using bait and switch tactics. We’re disappointed that our time was wasted and placed unnecessary exposure on our newborn during a heatwave and pandemic.

Arik is an absolute gem of a salesperson. He was incredibly helpful throughout the entirety of my time at the dealership, and was extremely accommodating throughout the process. As far as salespeople go, he sets a high standard that should be looked up to. Unfortunately the particular car I was looking at was sold while I was working out the details on my current vehicle lease, however this doesn't take away from the fantastic experience I had while there. If you're in the market for a Subaru, and planning on visiting this dealership, I would 100% recommend Arik to help you out.

I was very pleased with the service especially during this pandemic. Arik did a great job with all of my questions and services! I left the dealership feeling excited with my used yet like new vehicle! He still assists me when I have questions after the sale, shows the quality of service. That's great service in my book! Thank you Arik!

Honestly worst experience imaginable. A lot of things happened that were not ideal or professional so it’s a long read, but I highly suggest taking the time if you’re considering buying from this dealership. First, I stated I did not want or need any warranty and it wasn’t until after the cars information was sent to my insurance that I noticed a warranty was added. When I brought this up and asked to remove it I was told I cannot unless I want to completely re start a new application. Very sneaky. Second I had to wait over a week to even receive the vehicle while my boyfriend applied for a car less than a week prior and drove his home the next day. It wasn’t until I called and asked for the ownership to go get the plates myself that he was able to come up with a plan that same day. So less than 48 hours within having the car in my possession, engine light comes on. They had the car for over a month and contacted me zero times for any sort of update. If my boyfriend hadn’t of called for an update I might not have ever known it was “fixed”. Now whether they were annoyed about my partner calling for updates, or they genuinely thought they fixed it Ill never know, but they told me it was done and gave me back a violently vibrating car with the engine light STILL on. After all of this I am very discouraged and asked if I can cancel the purchase all together, as I don’t know anyone who would still trust their car with a dealership after that. Of course they said they cannot take the car back. So if you’re reading this and considering visiting this dealership, I suggest taking your money elsewhere as my experience has been unacceptable.

I debated for some time as to whether I was going to even say anything, but I feel that the public should know the kind of care this place will take when you come looking for assistance. I had purchased my certified used Subaru from a dealership in Quebec and within the first 3 weeks my vehicle all of a sudden had major engine problems. So I brought it to Ogilvie Subaru because I still had some warranty left on the car. So they run different test and immediately told me that they were not going to cover it... The service manager went on a giant tangent about how terrible all of the Subaru Dealerships are in the greater Montreal area and that they messed up so hard on the repair before they sold me the car that they weren't going to cover their workmanship. I had left my car there for a couple of days while I was trying to sort things out with Subaru Canada and then I received a call from Olgilvie that they are closing they're doors because of Covid for 2 weeks and they didn't even give me the option to pickup my vehicle they gave me the to bad see you in two weeks.
Finally I was able to pickup my car and guess what OTTO"S SUBARU is the one who saved the day and immediately ordered me a new engine and apologized on behave of the other dealership for the poor work on the engine. Like that is what excellent customer service is. Its seeing what you can do for that person to retain a customer. Now I will be going to Otto's for all of my oil changes now, future upgrades like cabin lighting and spoiler will all be done at Otto's. Your short sighted decision to turn me away just lost you $1000's of dollars to your competitor.

Our lease was up, we were way over our kms but working with Patrick and Ali, they got me a really good price with a little extra in the accessories department as well as going the extra mile for me in order to get the deal done in these crazy Covid-19 times. This is our second lease from Ogilvie and both times, we had a great buying experience. Will definitely be going back for another one in the future. Thanks again to Patrick and a huge thanks to Ali Said for going the extra mile to accommodate my many questions and requests on the new Forester. Loving it!!

A dealership is a dealership. Generally friendly staff. Comfortable waiting room with coffee, TV and charging ports. Just like any other dealer.
There is zero parking here with real difficulty even driving through the lot.
Service prices are as to be expected, overpriced with no weekend capacity for those that need our car midweek.

I’ll never pay for a new car nor have it serviced at the dealer unless absolutely necessary, ever again.

Fool me once.

Case in point: I needed a new FOB.
After purchase and programming I paid just under 500 dollars (the programming took 10 minutes at most).
When the new FOB made it to my hands I realized it was only half the FOB I expected (see attached).
Not a huge deal as I’ll likely not have to use the removable key ever...until I do.
Strangely the most irksome thing is that I can’t attach it to anything (no key ring).
I’ll likely lose it and end up paying another $500 plus the added $81 removable key with ring.

Note: if you lose both FOBS you are looking at $2-3000 to have the car deleted.

Was checking out the Ogilvie site as I'd been considering a new vehicle (bought from there in 2016) and gave their online trade appraisal tool a try. Didn't include my phone number, but was soon texted, called, and emailed by two different people, asking if I could come in same day for an appraisal as they "are always looking to add quality used vehicles to our inventory". I was also given a value range for my car.

Decided why not, and set up an appointment with the person today (Feb. 22). I was contacted again this morning by the same person, double checking to see if I was coming as they had "set some time aside to make sure that I can give you the attention you need". When I showed up at the dealership at the planned time, I discovered that not only did the person I was talking to not work at the dealership, but they were unaware I was coming in.

After someone was available, I sat with them and explained I had agreed to come in for an appraisal on my car. I was then told that appraisals are not done unless I am looking to buy. Without looking at the car, I was told that their trade in value was 2-4k less than what I had been told in email.

Overall, a complete waste of my time. Very disappointing to see that this is how the dealership is being run these days, I can't believe the difference between when I originally bought my car to now.

My wife and I went in with the sole intention of purchasing a Subaru. After all, that is what you do at a Subaru dealership. And since this dealership is off the beaten path, you're more likely to be going for a specific reason, like purchasing a Subaru. When you're walking into a dealership with under 4 stars, to make one of the worst investments you can make, you might be optimistic like I was that they're trying to turn things around. As you enter the parking lot, it clearly looks like some of the cars could use a wash. Now, please don't make that the reason why you don't go because it was too cold to look at every car. We still went in. Now when you walk through the door, there is a person sitting at the desk. Were we greeted? No. Maybe they didn't see us, so please don't fire them. However, we were in the showroom for at least 15 minutes, looking at one specific car. We went in the car, measuring the trunk, looking at the different features and not a single person greeted us. Now I get that people might be busy, but you still can let us know that someone will help us when they're done. That is all we ask for.

Me and my wife went in looking to shop for a new SUV after having compared various models. After a few minutes of speaking to Sales Representative Don Marcovitch it was clear that we were in the right place. He was truly knowledgeable and passionate regarding the cars he sold. There were no pressure tactics used, what you saw is what you got. He did his best to get us a good deal on the SUV we wanted and a fair trade in amount on our vehicle. From beginning to end we had a great experience with Ogilvie Subaru!

What a great buying experience. We wandered in off the street, with the intent of buying a Subaru but not sure which model. Don walked us through three models, answering all our questions, and taking us for three test drives. We thought we'd buy an Impreza but after talking to Don and driving a Forester and Outback, we went with the Outback. Don went the extra mile to find us a 2020 model in the colour we wanted and it arrived last week. Highly recommend Ogilvie and Don.

Once they get your money, good luck trying to get a hold of them. The Subaru vehicle is great, however the service they provide at this location is abysmal, and I would steer clear. All of the other 1 star reviews say the same thing, and from my experience here it is very accurate. We left many voice mails and attempted to call/email multiple times a week. When we finally got in contact, they told us their phones and email systems were down for the whole week. I have a hard time believing this. If you don't want to get the run around, definitely go to their competitor Otto's on the other side of town. I'm regretful I didn't do that.

Worst Subaru dealership in Ottawa. They kept our car 2 months (2 months!!!) for a repair. Communication was extremely poor, we always had to call them to get updates on the car and they gave us an attitude. They failed to inform us that a back-ordered part had arrived 2 weeks prior to returning the car and we ended up paying the rental car provided by our insurance for 10 days from our pocket! Of course, they don't take ownership of the lack of communication and the monetary damage we had. Shop elsewhere for a Subaru in Ottawa and if you purchased from them have the maintenance done at another dealership!

Made an appointment for 9am to get one headlight bulb replaced
I took my car in at 7am - and returned at 3pm
Car wasn't ready yet.....so why did I bother to make a 9am appointment for a simply bulb replacement?
At 4pm, my car was finally ready
Then handed me a bill for $200.00
They ended up replacing both headlight bulbs, and 6 tail light bulbs?????
"I got thoroughly robbed"
I immediately spoke to the service manager who promptly refunded me the entire bill.....

I brought my car in today for servicing, and the service department was incredible. The young lady (Misty) who was working on the counter, was phenomenal. She answered all my questions, kept me up to date and went over my whole bill with me.
I must say - I was a little apprehensive when Mierns sold this dealership as to how the customer service was going to be. With a women like that in their, in it safe to say we are still in good hands!!! Thank you Misty, for being professional, knowledgeable and having a smile on your face- you have a forever customer in your service department.

Consistently poor customer service. Can never get hold of anyone by phone. I left a voicemail for the service manager, never heard back. I called numerous times to inquire about a part that was ordered for my brand new car and couldn’t speak to anyone. I finally walked in one day after work and they told me the part had arrived 30 days before and they sent it back claiming they couldn’t get hold of me which is not true. I went through my Bell bill just to see how many times I called and sat on hold or the call got disconnected or I left a voicemail and never heard back (21 times from Aug - mid Sept 2018). The car is decent but I don’t think I’d bother getting another one if it means I have to deal with the lack of customer service from this dealership.

I have never been treated this way by a car dealership. I drove my fiance's car to them for an issue with the key/ignition for an 11:30 am drop off. My fiance was told on the phone the day before that it would take around 1 hour to diagnose the problem, during which time I was planning to go to the nearby mall to kill time. Upon arriving at the dealership, they informed me that the diagnosis itself would take several hours and they usually ask customers to bring the car for a full day for this sort of thing (this is before I even handed over the key).

This was just the start of it. Given I was now stuck across the city from my home, I asked if I could drive a loaner car. I also informed them I had an urgent veterinarian appointment the next day and would need a car for then. They said they had no loaner vehicles available day or night. I asked if they could at least shuttle me home, as the bus ride would take 45-60 minutes. They said nope, no shuttle. I hung around the dealership trying to figure out what to do, and eventually had to bus.

They called me in the afternoon to inform me that the car would require a new part and it was not safe to drive without replacing it. They said the part would be rushed, arrive at 8 am the following day, and I could pick up the car at 10 am (in time for my appointment). I again asked about a loaner vehicle if the car was not ready in time, and they said they would call me if one became available that evening, otherwise I could get the car at 10 am for sure.

I received no evening call and my fiance contacted them the following morning. She spoke to multiple service reps who all told her the part was still being awaited, she explained the situation, and they said they would have to call us back when the service manager was available. Still no offers of a substitute vehicle. So much for my vet appointment, can't very well bus with my dog...

In short, they have been inflexible with our needs, difficult to get information from, and unprofessional in communicating contradictory information (such as the actual duration of the diagnosis). If you're hoping to take your car somewhere that will make things easier for you while you're without a vehicle, don't take it here.

We will not be taking our needs here ever again.

Although we bought our Outback here for the convenience of it being close to work, it was probably the worst mistake we ever made. The sales department was ok, but the service at the dealership is below standard. No call backs for repairs that are under warranty and work that is done under warranty is of very poor quality. I will definitely be taking our Outback to another dealership in the area to service it. If you are reading this post please consider buying your car at another Subaru dealership in the area - you will be doing yourself a huge favor!

Sales Department is great and I am always happy with the service to my vehicle. The wait times for service appointments are incredibly long (3-4 weeks minimum) and their customer service is poor. They do not call you back when you request this when booking an appointment. They do not call you back when you leave a voicemail.

Very obviously understaffed.

I can only speak towards the service department. It was a horrible experience, my Subaru broke down so I towed it to the closest Subaru dealership, which was Ogilvie Subaru. The service attendant was new and was not well trained and was left on her own to close. she did not know how to add a new vehicle to the system. So she left a note for someone to add the car in the next day. Not a big deal but she should have had someone experienced with her, I don’t blame her I blame the training she was provided. When I called to check on my car the next day, I could not get a hold of anyone at service and left a voicemail. No one returned my call, I had to visit the dealership later that day to get an update. As they were busy with everyone putting on snow tires I had to go on a waiting list to get my car in, not much I can do I did not have an appointment. Everyday I called for 5 days and I constantly got a voicemail and no returned call backs. This was getting annoying so I visited the dealership later that night and was told to call Keith I believe was his name. Again I called the next day and got Keith’s voicemail, no returned calls. I finally had enough and had my car towed to Otto’s Subaru who were even more busy but they had someone look at the car before service closed, my car was fixed the next day and ready to go. I don’t understand how a dealership can operate a service department that only forwards calls to voicemail. If your reading this, just try calling the service department, I am certain you will get a voicemail that no one listens too. Otto’s Subaru is a far superior dealership, I’ve had my issues with them too but at least they corrected my issues and make sure I am satisfied. If I could give less than one star to Ogilvie Subaru I would.

Thank you so much for the efficiency and thoroughness. Don Marcovitch and Sharon Reid thanks for explaining all details as well as answering all my questions. Special thank you to Don for taking all the time needed to go through all features of the car. You worked your magic and not only was I able to get a good deal but receive the car in a shorter period of time so you could accommodate my needs. Thank you once again. Sarah a proud new owner of a forester 2019.

Worst experience ever dealing with the salesperson. I ended up walking out after 5 minutes. The management must be as bad if they allow their salespeople talk to customers in disrespectful and unprofessional way. Take your money and business elsewhere because this behaviour only foreshadows the bad service you will receive in the future when servicing your car.

Was genuinely looking to purchase a wrx. Salesperson told me immediately "not a chance" of a test drive and provided no further information. Upon prompting he said that they didn't have one on the lot and couldn't get one in for test drive without a deposit. As It was painfully clear that there were in fact two WRXs on the lot he then declared that on a day such as this (31 Dec 15 - 2°C, damp roads, no ice/snow) he wouldn't let one out on the road. To me this avoidance of ever so slightly non ideal road conditions flies in the face of what it is to drive a Subaru.

Given the salesman's bold face lie, followed by unapologetic and illogical backtracking, all coupled with a complete lack of willingness to engage in discussion on the merits/features/pricing of the vehicle , I will ensure that I purchase my WRX from an unaffiliated dealer.

I just had a recall service plus some other things done on my 2003 Forester. The service was prompt, effective, and very reasonably priced, all to the satisfaction of the admittedly fussy old guy that I am. This experience was top drawer!

I just took delivery of my new Legacy 3.6. I almost bought a Forester about 5 years ago, but went with a cheaper car that time, due to budget limits. This time I wanted a more upscale sedan. I remembered the fellow at Ogilvie the last time, and was happy to see that he is still there. Salesmen come and go, but Don is still there. He was and is very knowledgeable about his products and the auto industry in general. He was very helpful, and actually fun to chat with.I got information from him, and left. During a month of 'due dilligance" I drove other cars and also visited 2 other Subaru dealers, one in Ottawa, and one in Montreal. I then went back to Don with serious intent. We did another test drive and got down to price. He is a straight shooter. He knew I was serious and treated me respectfully. His first, upfront price was totally competitive with the quotes I already had. I asked for more, and he was able to sweeten it a touch. He explained about "tight margins" and all that, but He came through, and I bought the car. This guy is great, It was the best car buying experience for me, and I met a lot of different type of salesman styles while shopping around. Way to go Don . You are my sales guy. Thanks
