Got prompt response to make a test drive appointment. Reception staff was attentive and salesperson came over as soon as he could after finishing with another client. Not long wait. Anthony was knowledgeable about product, answered all questions, took the time to go over all purchase options (trims & financing), and no pressure. Worst customer service ever! They’re dishonest with their customers, all their cars are defective. Bought a Honda Civic 2016 in 2020 has low mileage and two month after I had to replace the brakes, as they didn’t do that when they sold it to me. I barely drove my car and I park it underground, and to this day it has 25,050km only but few days ago when I went for oil change and for service, they noticed that my car is rusted from the bottom and the mechanic told me that he never ever seen a car that is rusted as mine especially it’s 2016, usually cars who have rust like that are very old models from early 2000’s. I don’t recommend anyone to purchase any car from there. Very bad place and worst customer service ever, especially the guy who sold me the car (Pierre) but now I think he left, probably after he sold a couple of defective cars, made his commission and screwed up customers!!!

Pure incompetence! I brought my CR-V in to get the A/C fixed. They said it was ready to be picked-up. Turns out they didn't even check the "work" that was done because the A/C still didn't work...at all! Brought it back for servicing. The A/C was only working at 65% capacity because they didn't fill the freon correctly! (As i found out from Lallier Honda). Save yourself precious time and money. Go to Lallier instead or cross the border to Ottawa altogether! The mechanics at Verendrye are painfully inept. Incredibly disappointing! What a joke!

One of the worst service experiences. The sales rep confirmed with me on the phone about the car being available at the location. When we went to see him, he wasted my hour negotiating the price[The price was way higher than the other places], and then the sales manager comes in[rude from the beginning] and tells us the car is not even available.

What a waste of time!

Not so: Excellent service at the service center, great job cleaning my car. But the sales service leaves me wondering if they want to sell cars, no call back as promised. So i bought somewhere else. New service experience. Replaced guaranteed parts with non Honda parts and handed me my keys as if all is right and let me leave. Found out parts covered by extended guarantee are supposed to be replaced by Honda parts, called them back to get them replaced by original Honda parts. Have to remove my "excellent service at service center" quote from this review.

The vehicles are reasonably priced but the associates are slimy. Was told winter tire set would come with a vehicle purchase, and when pressed for confirmation was ghosted all week. When the final sale came up, no winter tires were part of the deal.

I came by to look at a car (advertised on autotrader) and this guy (Phillipe) walked me around and he couldn't even find the car. He then took my number and I told him I would come back the next day because it was getting late and I wanted to take it to a mechanic on the same day. A few hours later he notified me that he sold the car.

I asked a few questions and to confirm the price, it took days for the to reply )almost a week) and when they did they said the car was perfect etc but did not answer my questions. I will say, 3 years ago my review likely would have been different.

Today though, i'm quite happy with the service I get whenever I go to Honda. The staff at the Service desk are no nonsense, but very knowledgeable. I like that they don't treat me like the car newbie that I am. They're very courteous and they take the time to give you all the information, not passing judgment if you don't want a particular service. If I felt like maybe they'd push unnecessary expenses on me in the past, I certainly don't feel that way anymore. Last two times i've had to get my car checked, they looked at it, drove test it, and even brought it on the jack at no expense.

Whatever has changed in the past couple of years, it works for me. It's always a good experience going there and the staff cares. Some may be better at customer service than others, but by no means does that mean that they're bad.

Special shout out to Alain in services and Roc who looked at my car.

Called ahead to have a diagnostic test on my civic. They said they had a space for me tomorrow morning, and that the test was free under my warranty coverage. The next day, I show up, and they told me the test is not covered because my warranty just expired, and lost track of any appointment I had. They want the car for the whole day + charge me $40 for the test plus $110/hour for inspection time. I had checked in advance but they refused to honour the claim they made over the phone, stating their agent made a mistake. It's a bait-and-switch tactic. Dishonest and misleading.

Terrible service. Salespeople were condescending. Sold me a used car that did not pass the safety test. We went back and they made repairs, but when I had those repairs checked by MIDAS (who had done the safety test) they were deemed poorly executed and dangerous. Luckily, the folks at MIDAS fixed that for us, no charge. If you want a Honda, I suggest another dealership. Civic Motors on St-Laurent Blvd is awesome.

Don’t do it. Save that couple thousand dollars you think you are saving and buy in Ontario if that’s where you live. Used Ridgeline I purchased wasn’t what it was advertised to be, an excellent condition no accidents vehicle. Found out months later that it absolutely has been in at least one accident as evidenced by the repainted ear quarter panel, paint overspray and now what it seems is a suspension issue. Oh yeah and the original sale was a paperwork debacle that went on for over a month!

Don't deal here. Try lallier and hunt club honda as they provide 7 year warranty/ 160,000 kms warranty with their used vehicles . They will try to sneak fees aside from vehicle price so try to be vigilant on your quotation if you try dealing here. Also, salespersons and manager are rude. Check other dealers. I had a bad experience before. Then, tried the second time but had the same experience. So if their attitude is rude and intimidating at pre-sale, what do you think after you bought a car?

They would keep saying they offer best prices and use that to cover up for the things they mess up. They will be rude if you don't speak french and not empathetic at all. The sales person Alix set up the expectations to get me the Ontario license plates setup but he didnt had it on the day of vehicle delivery and he gave a reason saying it happens because he forgot to get our signature. No empathy at all instead being rude. The manager was rude as well. The delivery person Christian was nice though. Service department is also nice.
Manager even said I dont hate you, pointing at my turban.

I was on the phone with Eli discussing an issue with a demo vehicle I purchased through a wholesaler from this dealership. While trying to sort out the issue and get information to help my issue Eli became very defensive, kept cutting me off, called me “lady” and hung the phone. He knew the story but kept saying “I don’t see how this is our problem,” patronizing me and made me keep repeating myself when I asked for information to help me with my issue. He knew what I was asking but was just being rude. Whether or not the issue was their fault or not (which I was fully prepared to accept it if wasn’t and wanted to work through it with Eli), Eli treated me very poorly. Anyone planning to work with this dealership needs to know that if something goes poorly with Eli he will not be able to handle a situation professionally and has a short fuse.

Questionable sales practices. Advertising of the vehicle (2016 Civic) did not match its features. The ad said it had AC (important feature) and they said ad error. The sales rep mentioned they had another one, and offered it to me, and then negotiated with the manager to a price that turned out to be more than it was advertised for online! I was told their ad changed with neither the manager or the salesrep knowing (another lie, websites showed the date change). What a joke.

Honda makes great cars… this dealership is however not so great. They use schemes and salesman tactics to prey onto unexperienced buyers into making you think you’ll get a good deal and RIP YOU OFF.

Here's my story:
I went for a lease on a Honda civic, 2 years ago with them and had made a security deposit of 2.2K. It was my first time leasing a car and had zero experience. I thought the security deposit would have helped lower my monthly payments. I only found out later that the only advantage of having a security deposit was the chance of having a lower interest rate (which they didn’t even apply!). My interest rate was already 0.9%, before having a security deposit but they didn’t care to explain that.

Fast-forward 2 years (present time), I get a call from them saying that they had a special promotion of 750$ discount on a new car and lower interest for "loyalty clients". Since I was already thinking about doing an upgrade to my car, I went ahead and decided to check it out.

After negotiating the price with the salesman for about an hour or more, the salesman said that I could get rid of my old civic lease, pay the new "low" bi-monthly payments and leave with a new car. I asked if there was any penalty or any other payment required for breaking the lease – HE SAID THERE WAS NO PENALTY, NO EXTRA PAYMENT. With no penalty or extra payment, I agreed to the price and moved on to the sales director.

Neither the sales rep or the sales director ever mentioned that day that they would take my security deposit of 2.2K from the previous lease to "pay the residual value" of the returned civic.
I found out about this on the day of the pick-up/delivery... AFTER I asked for it. I asked if I could have my security deposit back from the old lease, they said it was used to "negotiate" a good price and applied on the new car. The sales coordinator said I had two options: either they give me back a check, or my payments would be a lot higher. However, the security deposit was NEVER mentioned during the negotiations and during the agreement of the car purchase price ??? At the delivery day, they printed this new sheet (which was the first time I’ve seen it) that they made me sign saying that the security deposit of 2.2K would be used to pay off the residual value of the car.

This was an important factor that could of had a huge impact on my decision making, during the negotiations of the agreed purchase price of the car. Now my security deposit of 2.2K is gone just like that.

I definitely feel like I’ve been ripped off since they never told me and I deeply recommend to be cautious from them and to stay away from this place at all cost.

Came to view used civics and the salesman seemed to lose interest when I mentioned I wasn't going to finance. I didn't even negotiate, I was going to pay the sticker price but the overall service at this place left a bad taste in my mouth and I was losing trust so I left and left a deposit on a civic at Lallier Honda today. Others may have a different experience with other sales people but this was mine.

I have always received a good service in this dealership, and felt the need to write this review.
Bought my Honda Civic 3 years ago, brand new. Serviced in Gatineau Honda since then.
Mr. Elie Khalil offered thoughtful advice about specifications to choose, and reasonable combination of price & quality. No overselling, no pressure. The whole process of trading in my old car , and receiving a new one was smooth, and carefree.
Some minor things that had to be changed were covered by warranty, and service was done in a fair waiting time.
The staff is friendly and courteous. Waiting area is spacious and clean.
Great job was done cleaning interior of my car.
I guess, nothing is absolutely perfect in this world, but I acknowledge that many people here are trying to do their best despite of busy hours and conflicting demands.

Bonjour, c'est toujours un plaisir d'écrire des commentaires positifs, surtout lorsque je fais réparer ou entretenir ma voiture chez Gatineau Honda. J'ai cessé d'acheter des pneus ou de faire des changements d'huile à l'extérieur depuis que je fais affaire là. Ça a beau être une voiture qui date de quelques années, j'ai toujours l'impression d'être traité en millionnaire quand je parle à des gens comme Denis Pelletier, au service.

Un autre détail que je trouve bien et qui en même temps vaut son pesant d'or, c'est que j'ai la conviction que lorsque le travail est fait chez Gatineau Honda - le tout va m'être explique clairement par Denis - que seules les pièces qui ont besoin d'être remplacées vont l'être. C'est ce qui s'appelle établir une relation de confiance.

Aussitôt que j'ai contacté le garage pour quelque travail que ce soit, je sais que mon véhicule va être traité aux p'tits soins et le prix va être raisonnable. Mieux, quelques fois, Denis m'appelle pour me dire que le véhicule est prêt avant l'heure prévue et ça arrive même qu’il m'annonce en plus que ça va me couter moins cher. Quoi demander de plus? Je vais retourner et en parler à mes amis.
