I recently had a disappointing experience at Salmon Arm GM. The salesmen and sales manager, particularly Ian's daughter, resorted to dishonest tactics to secure a commission. Initially, they promised to address certain issues with the vehicle before signing the contract, such as a broken seal on the door and paintwork needed on the front end.
Ian's daughter, Katie, who serves as the service manager, directly assured me that she had emailed for quotes to have the front end painted. However, despite her promises, the requests remain unfulfilled.
After the deal was made, they conveniently avoided my calls and emails regarding these promises.

Despite assurances from the salesmen that repairs would be made, I later discovered that this was merely lip service. When I followed up, I was met with excuses and contradictions from Ian Gray himself, claiming I misunderstood the situation. It became apparent that they had no intention of fulfilling their commitments.

Additionally, I was assured that an oil change had just been done and I would not need to worry about it. However, just a month after having the vehicle, I received a notification indication regarding the need for an oil change, transmission flush. Upon taking it to another dealership for the service, I was shocked to learn that the brake pads were not installed correctly, despite the salesman's claim of a comprehensive check by their service staff prior to the sale.

This experience left me feeling disregarded and scammed. It's disheartening to see such deceptive practices in a supposedly reputable dealership. I wouldn't wish this ordeal on anyone else and advise potential customers to exercise caution when dealing with Salmon Arm GM.

It's about time a dealership stepped up to the plate with something like " Tru Video". I felt way way more comfortable letting someone service my truck. It saves time, money and most of all. You can decide whether you wanna fix the repairs recommended by the service department! Service tech did a really good job on the video. It gives a birds eye view of what is really going on with your vehicle. Service tech explains & shows you what issues you may or may not have. Spencer the service advisor. He was professional, friendly and treats you fair!

I have worked in the automotive industry for over 20 years. In fact, I worked in sales for a GM dealer and I can say that Salmon Arm GM is a great store. We were passing through town and needed an oil change. Not only did our truck go into the shop on time but the service advisor informed us that we needed some recalls done that they were happy to take care of while the truck was in the shop. Even with me working at a GM dealership, my truck would never have been through the shop in such a timely fashion . At Salmon Arm GM they got us through the shop in record time and we got a complimentary car wash too. The technician took a video walk around during the service to show us things they were doing and what needed to be addressed. Amazing service and Salmon Arm GM sets the standard they everyone else show strive to hit. Ian Gray is such a good guy and it reflects in his staff and his store. Great job everyone.

Best car wash in town and I’ve tried them all. The Salmon Arm GM car wash is so thorough that it washes under the vehicle as you put through the wash getting all the winter road chemicals off the truck and then they used multiple cleaners on the exterior of the truck and then finally air blowing all the water off with extremely little residue left over. I keep returning to their wash.

After waiting on hold with parts, I was basically told to source fog lights headlights on my own and then decided I may as well just take all the work I want done somewhere else parts spokes person agreed with me! Absolutely blows me away that they don’t want to work, I’ll never go here again ! Pathetic really!

I apologize as my post is limited to my experience with one or two particularly ignorant employees. About n hour ago I was trail riding on my Bicycle Through the trails behind The tire shopWhen out of my Peripherals I noticed a figure exposing his Self I presume he was urinating but can't be certain. I said nothing but he proceeded to insult me and speak aggressively Attempting to instigate an altercation Between the 2 of us. I don't promote senseless violence but nor do I accept disrespect for no good reason. I speak to people with the most of respect as that is the way I would like to be Spoken to I believe everybody deserves to be. This embassy continued to provoke me And challenge me to enter On to the private property Fortunately I refuse to That would be one of many illegal acts On my part if I were to do so. Sadly he irritated me enough to Have this potentially escalated to violence if you would have came into the parking lot Speaking as humbly as I can This man would have been Heard potentially quite badly as I I'm no stranger to combat and violence But I have no wish to hurt anybody I believe that a company that will hire A person Of such low maturity and intelligence Doesn't deserve any more than one star rating Although they may have better areas my experience only showed this So I will I have no choice but to stand by my review until I see anything better

Shortly after leaving Scotch Creek pulling our 5th Wheel, only 2 days prior the fire evacuation order, our Chev Duramax Diesel lost power and the check engine light came on. We managed to get into Salmon Arm on our way to Calgary and found no other repair shops willing to look at our problem immediately. Serendipity came when late in the day we found Salmon Arm GM dealership on the East End and managed to talk with Michelle Shannik, Service Agent who put us at ease that they could look at the problem the next morning. In the meantime we could park the trailer in their adjacent lot. Next to the #1, the sleep wasn't great, but our relief sure was, especially considering that this could have happened through the Rogers Pass. The mechanics were a bit delayed but Michelle had accurately diagnosed the issue as a problem with the Mass Air Filter Sensor. She waived the diagnosis fee when it came time to pay. When does that ever happen? We are so grateful for how we were treated that we will consider buying from this dealership on our next purchase and having any required servicing done if we are in the area.

In the 40 yrs of owning vehicles I have never made a mistake that has cost me so much and the icing on the cake was the worst experience in my 40 yrs of how a dealership treated me . The job I got done was off warranty and I gave them specific instructions on how I wanted the job done . Not only did they not followed them they made the situation much much worse . I was lied to mislead and parts where broke then lied about none of my instructions where written down and the actually did pretty much everything to sabotage my truck as they could . I know there r good ppl there but the situation I was in they only worried about themselves. I would recommend highly that if u r getting work done there to check the work order before they can proceed and all used parts be looked at before discarded . I’m not sure how I go from here but further investigation is required and maybe even legal action may have to proceed. I like shopping local but not sure how I proceed from here

I can’t say enough about this place. I got a flat tire on the Friday night of the August long weekend called them Saturday morning and they had tires and a way to put them on for me right away. I arrived at 9:30 and was on my way by1045. The quick lube guys were amazing. I am so thankful my long weekend was spent with my bestie not trying to find tires and make it home to PG in time for work on Monday. Thank you 🤘🏻

We were traveling though Salmon Arm on our way from Calgary to Vancouver when our Tesla got a hole in one of the tires and was losing pressure fast. We called up GM just minutes before closing and they welcomed us into the shop, staying 45 min overtime to repair our tire and get us safely back on the road. Spencer was so gracious and welcoming and made us feel like we were not inconveniencing them in the least and Mike did a great job on the repair. They offered us drinks and restrooms and good conversation while we waited. We are so grateful for the fast and friendly service!

Grateful for Ian and his awesome team. We found them to be honest, kind and reliable. Having unexplainable car issues while 7 months pregnant isn’t the best situation to be stuck in but they took care of us.

Had a really great experience purchasing my car remotely with these folks. I was looking for a particularly rare vehicle and my search led me here to Ian Gray Salmon Arm GM where someone had recently traded in a very clean and low KM copy.

After a quick phone call with sales manager Garick, they sent me the vehicle reports, pictures, and videos I had asked for. Taking a couple days to discern my purchase, I then exchanged a few more quick calls with my sales Courtney and when we agreed on a price I was happy with, I gave my deposit over phone. The whole process was so easy, pressure-free, and literally took less than 30 minutes. Two weeks later, Courtney personally drove 1.5 hrs out of Salmon Arm to pick me up from Kamloops airport (YKA) as I flew in from Vancouver. Talk about excellent customer service.

I did feel email communication could have been slightly improved (quicker response) but aside from that, my experience was very positive. I liked that they even reached out a month later to make sure everything was okay with my purchase. Would definitely recommend this dealership!

Was en route from Calgary to a campground close to Salmon Arm when we had a diesel exhaust fluid quality warning pop up. Never a good time for things like this but not a great way to start a vacation. Called Salmon Arm GM, and after a very pleasant chat with the service advisor, we were able to get in the very next morning. The gentleman in the service reception bay was able to troubleshoot immediately, provided an explanation with great detail, cleared the code and we were on our way within 15 minutes. They were able to turn a fairly high stress situation into a pleasant experience. Can't express how grateful we were.

Great place, dog friendly staff are all super friendly and helpful. Been disappointed with their estimated times for service. I've come in 3 times for miscellaneous service, tire change, warrantee check in etc...
Each time I've been told it will be about an hour. Each time it's been over a 2hr wait. The first time was a 3.5hr wait for a tire change on a day I had specified as a day I didn't have time to wait, and was assured it would be quick. Thankfully since then it's only been 2hrs & 2.5hrs I seem to have bad luck when it comes to "just an hour." I hope they can estimate their timing better but overall it is a friendly atmosphere and a great team.

I recently was shopping for an upgrade and trade in of my Grand Caravan. After looking online with no luck, I approached Rod Thiessen.
Rod and Ian were so friendly and helpful to deal with. They gave me top dollar on my trade in and also loyalty discounts on top of that. Any roadblock we hit, they found a solution and put us in a beautiful 2021 Malibu. Full tank and oil change on a car with only 2000 km on it are just the little touches you’ll find here.
Karen who did the financing was a pleasure to work with and she had the insurance broker come to the dealership to save me a trip to change the licenses.

recently decided to purchase a new truck. I stopped by and talked with Rod who asked me a few questions and answered some of mine, then quickly had a truck picked out for me that not only exceeded what I was looking for, but also landed well within my budget. From walking onto the lot, to signing all the papers, I felt like I was looked after from the first handshake to the last. These days it is easy to shop for a truck all over the province on the internet, sometimes finding better pricing, sometimes better vehicle availability, it's great to be able to find everything I need in product and customer service, all while still being able to support a locally ran business. Everyone at Salmon Arm GM seemed to have my needs as a priority, I feel very well looked after along with having the confidence that I chose the right dealership for this truck purchase and my future purchases as well. Tires at "cost" but buyer beware of scams! I bought tires last month and they offered a good price for great product BUT told me I needed new brakes and rotors at a cost of $1300! I decided to get a second opinion and inspection and was told I wasn't even close to needing new brakes! GM told me I had only 1-2 mm left and my second opinion confirmed and showed me 6mm!! GM service shop is a complete scam, never again will I visit this shop or dealership.

We bought a new set of tires here as they were offering them at cost. They were helpful and knowledgeable in picking our new tires and the price was excellent. They installed them quickly while we waited and even came and asked us if we would be ok paying an extra $20 for installation as they said there was so much mud caked on our rims that it would throw the balancing off if they didn't clean it off before balancing. Can highly recommend them for new tires!
