After writing off my vehicle over Christmas in an unfortunate meeting of black ice followed by a telephone pole, my girlfriend and I decided to take the jump and invest in something we were confident we would never have to worry about, and purchased a 2017 Tacoma SR5 - boy do we feel hoodwinked.
While I am reasonably happy with the truck, we were completely underwhelmed with the sales initiative here, and purchased from Summerside. While we certainly “felt” more respected as first time buyers, I am quickly realizing we were severely undersold for our needs so they could get a used truck off their lot. As it stands, we are stuck with payments on a truck that meets about 3/4 of our needs, and talking to a dealer is like talking to an asbestos coated brick wall - they’re in their own little whacked out corporate-says-this world. A Toyota literally sells itself, what is so difficult about the rest of your job/offered services?
Everything about Island Toyota dealerships is a f$&@ing joke. If you’re like me and still insist on a Toyota vehicle, put your money where it deserves to go and buy directly from the Toyota webpage (www.toyota.ca), and DEAR GOD save yourself the headache of purchasing the warranty or doing your services here.
I just paid $150 for a routine service oil filter change that would have cost me $50 and less than an hour of time to do on my own, no mention of cost prior. On top of that, they want me to order a $60 plug kit (plus GOD KNOWS WHAT for the install) to TRY and stop the ungodly howling coming from my front control arm. If this is truly the issue, how is it not warrantied? Factory parts in working shape DO NOT HOWL.
It took me a week of trying to contact someone in the service department that actually spoke truck and understood my concerns over a shot needle bearing of which I had literally every. Single. Red. Flag. For. (Howl at 30km, vibrations at 70km+, this is the real sign - vibes disappear in 4x4)
Do yourself a favour and save the headache of working with this stealer-ship.
We were so disappointed with the sales rep we met there- he left us in middle saying i have the appointment with another client , we were so desperate to get a new car from toyota now we know me and my family and my friends will never visit toyota charllotetown in future
I have been dealing with Tim at Charlottetown Toyota for the past 6 years and never been disappointed excellent service all staff seemed extremely friendly.
Don’t go here fellow. This dealership is a scamming customer to get ECP(Extra Care Protection) and will tell you that this extend your services beyond the 3 year Toyota services. However, when you go for services after 3 years they will tell you that it only covers first 6 services. So, you will end up paying for the rest of the life. And their excuse is it covers manufacturers warranty(which is already covered if there is recall or like that). Try to avoid getting scammed by buying ECP. And try to avoid this dealership as well. You wouldn’t get any support after you but it.
Very pleasant staff, and affordable prices.
Wonderful experience, non aggressive f
Nice to meet luxury cars from Toyota in Charlottetown PEI Canada Thank you for letting us see them ❤
Love my Rav! Love the effort, the helpful staff, put forward in service department.
Excellent service. Very professional and polite staff members.
Staff are great to deal with.
Not sure what is going on at this dealership. We are die hard Toyota fans. We currently own two and they are the eighth and ninth Toyotas since 1993!
Every couple of years we take a trip across the country. Before heading home we are often due for an oil change and service. This has never been an issue, until now.
We tried repeatedly to get an appointment last week in Charlottetown and no one answered the phone. So we tried on line - the system said we would get a confirmation email but we never got one. So, we tried calling again, and finally spoke to a human being, but alas, they put us on hold and no one picked up.
I hope everyone is okay, but if you are traveling, you may not be able to count on Charlottetown Toyota to help you out.
Always a helpful group of people. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Service was quick did service 1 and 2 went in at 8 out 930
Charlottetown Toyota from sales Corey to financing to parts and service are all GREAT group .Corey explained in detail the works of the car inside and out. When it was time for new wiper. Great service warranty and extended warranty . The one Thing I miss is the friendly driver and the Toyota shuttle to drop off and pick up.those that have to get back to work.. The taxi,s in our great city leave much to be desired. From poor drivers. Not understanding instructions of passengers wishes . Poor driving practices..not picking fares up and when called again I got lied to. I do NOT associate with lies and liars. Or dangerous driver who drive with bare feet.one on the dash and console... Toyota please get the shuttle back on the road.we deserve this pleasure. Thank you.
I don't go anywhere else for work on my car these guys are the best. Went somewhere else once charged me the same as dealership and said my oil needed to be changed 3 months later. Dealership does it once a year. My car being fairly new.
ALAN Brennan, our salesperson, was AMAZING!! Always great to deal with Troy Peters too!!!
If I could give a negative score I would. Multiple issues with the car, but I have the extended warranty, They performed a recall on it and shortly after the airbag issues started. I had to take it in about 5 times since for airbag issues. They are now saying they are going to charge me a fee diagnose the issue. I refuse to pay a fee for something that is covered under the extended warranty. The service manager would not budge and I am now stuck with a car that has a safety fault
Toyota Charlottetown service department is terrible. I've been calling them to book an appointment for several days, in a daily basis, and either nobody answers their telephone or the receptionist will kept asking your name and contact number and promised to call you back but nothing happens. I only need their services once every 6 months for car check up and tire change and it is very unfortunate that I have to struggle this much just to book an appointment.
This situation has always been like this since I got the car. Sad to note that I acquired 2 cars from them and still felt ignored. After sale service is indeed frustrating here!
Treated good and impressed with their service
The Charlottetown Toyota is a great and fantastic place to buy cars and trucks and the staff is friendly and helpful
Lloyd Ford is the man to see in sales! Service department is excellent!
A dealer in which customers are misled with prices on used cars. A dealer which really doesn't care for loyalty of customers and is proud to sell the cars which are sold on companies reputation and not dealers repute .Hope Toyota company reads this post.
Lots of vehicles on the lot but nobody comes out to help you. No Tacoma's but I see a couple of new 2021 Tundra.
This is the car dealer to go to. The team at Charlottetown Toyota were excellent! Corey Bryan was aswesome and out of all the dealers I was at that day. He cared about what I could afford and what I wanted. I am in love with my car!
horrible service we have 2 cars from them yet when my tires wore out early under warranty they set up an appointment two weeks later to fill out a form and get it looked after here i am 2 months later with no update after i went in a couple times and they say i haven't gone to the appointment then they said they lost the sheet (i went to the original appointment date) and every time the guy writes down my number sand says he will give me a call... haven't heard back since. get your service somewhere else where they actually appreciate it from what i hear im not the only one being treated this way
The staff are friendly and obliging. Great place to do business with
Average. They know Toyotas sell whether you buy it or someone else does. Our last 3 Toyotas were bought in Summerside rather than Charlottetown.
Very pleased with the service I recieved. Lloyd and Jean Marc were so pleasant and helpful. I recommend visiting them if car shopping. Great job guys !

Horrible Experience!! Just pressurizing someone to buy a vehicle without giving time to think , without giving any details about total obligation/interest rate. Salesman was Rude , Unreasonable , not giving any answers whatever asked , just said buy it , its best deal.
There are toyota vehicles with all the dealerships around Charlottetown with exact same price and good people who know how to respect people.
Glad I didnt bought from them ,instead got a great deal somewhere else!!
All the 5 star views seem to be made up as I saw 2-3 people reporting same issue as mine .
If I could say 0 I would...
I felt ignored, disrespected and completely bulldozed by the team at Toyota Charlottetown. The salesman pressured me into things I said I was not interested in. After I requested multiple times for a breakdown of the numbers, I was made to wait outside the office of the financial person while he and the other males in the building talked about their BBQs.. 🙄 I was very clear that I was not sold on the vehicle and would need time to review my options. I asked multiple times for the full numbers involved with the purchase and was not given them, but was told I could drive away with my new car tomorrow morning! Again, I stated that I was NOT decided.
The following day I received 8 phone calls and 3 voicemails from Toyota, between the salesman and the financial person. I stated I was sick, needed time to review my options and would be in touch, but told them that, in the future, one call/voicemail would suffice. I continued to receive multiple phone calls, voicemails and emails a day following this. We spoke a couple of times via email, though it still took multiple contacts to finally receive clarification of the numbers. The salesman made constant statements like that I'd love my new Corolla, and that I'd be driving my new Corolla soon… Yada, yada.
Even with a good deal on the vehicle, I decided not to take it due to the behavior of the salesman and financial person, and how it left me feeling.. A lease is a long relationship and I deserve better treatment. I told the salesman that it was the result of how it was being sold to me, and nothing would change my decision. The salesman continued to pressure me and even stated that now he wouldn't get paid and had missed opportunities to sell that vehicle, because of me, stating that he knew I didn't actually care.. Just extremely rude and disrespectful.
Never again Toyota. ✌️
Friendly staff helped replaced the battery for my rental 4Runner's key fob
Great service.
Josh was extremely helpful, looking forward to getting my brand new 2020 toyota during red tag sales!! Perfect opportunity for Toyota to step up and be everything that township chev is not.
I have purchased a half a dozen vehicles from Charlottetown Toyota over the years. They very good sales staff. More importantly, their service department is the best.
Got my problem repaired quickly and no hassle
Wouldn't buy anywhere else .been buying there for 33 years
Two prices were given on the same car???? Confusing.
Allan, John, etc did a great job of getting us our new car in short order. Good trade in value as well
Great service for the price!
Great service clear description of services provided.
Good staff, help you with your needs.
CAR BUYERS OR LEASERS BEWARE!!!!
I was helping my parents look for a replacement vehicle to their aging TOYOTA!!!!!
Anyway, I sat down with the Salesman. Nice fellow, we hit it off, he seemed to know a lot of people that I knew, small world!
I looked at a couple vehicles and we discussed some prices, but the sales rep at no time gave me more than a single number, as opposed to all other dealers that gave me a detailed printout.
This guy also did the known visit to the sales manager, who was from my home town, and whose grandfather was best friend with my father, but whom I will not name, and he spent about 15 minutes away until he came back with the final offer, again a single number with no backup as to the costs of the car.
In closing, TOYOTA is a phenomenal car, best built in the world, but man, you have to deal with a bunch of sly salespeople to get a car. Be VERY careful, these people are SNAKES!!!
My recommendation - if you need a new vehicle, check out the Mazda dealership across the road, or if you want a used Toyota (and a really great deal) go to Longs Auto Center, just a little farther down the road.
45 min. That great , we knew we bought the right vehicle from the right dealer. Will always buy a Toyota .this is our third Toyota vehicle . #1 vehicle with us ,the first one was a 2005 echo the last Toyota was a 2008 Matrix .never spent a cent on those car other than tires and brakes. Now we own a Rav4. Love it.
Charlottetown Toyota is a great place to purchase a vehicle!! The owners are awsome and are willing to help. Lloyd Ford (sales associate) is fabulous!! Truly cares about his clients. I will not forget your assistance with my truck. A big thank you to all the staff at Charlottetown Toyota!!! Thanks.
Great vehicles, awesome staff. This is a great place to do business!
Great prices

Great service
I just drove 4 hours to drop a truck off for warranty service my local shop refused. Gerry and his staff are friendly and went the extra mile to make the, already great, experience of owning a Tacoma even better.
I have always had positive dealings with this dealership. I have purchased one car through them and have spoken with them on many other occasions about other cars.
