This rating is for the service department. We came to Clarington Toyota to have a review done of a used Toyota we wanted to purchase privately. We asked them to fully review the car to see if it was worth the purchase price. They did the 55 point inspection checklist and gave the car back. No comments of problems. Once we purchased the car we found out from our own mechanic that the was not driveable and should have been towed. It would also require over $4,000 in repairs. I corresponded with Matt Gleed of Clarington to resolve this issue. His final respones was 'We performed a 55 point inspection on the vehicle and the recommendations we made we believe to be accurate.' We have been dealing with Stouffville Toyota since it opened in 2010. We should have taken the vehicle there. Stouffville would have advised us to return the car. My suggestion, go to a mechanic you trust. Just because it says Toyota, does not mean you get get the service advice you need.

I purchased my 2007 Tundra from Clarington Toyota and have always taken my truck to this dealer only. The whole staff in this dealer ship are wonderful, they always smile and say hello. The service department staff are the people I see the most and because I drive a Toyota I am not there much, oil changes and maintenance. They always call me by name when I come through the door and make me feel as if they are glad to see me as if I were an old friend!
I have read some of the other reviews and like any service department there are time glitches and you are there longer than you thought you might be, that does happen anywhere! Sure people can have a bad experience but I find in most cases the bad experience is brought on by their own poor attitude.
I loved Don's reply to one disgruntled person's review. "Are you sure it was our dealership". Brought a smile to my face.
In closing I just want to say I would defiantly recommend this dealership and keep up the great work!

DON'T DO IT...RUN!!

Questionable sales tactics. Service not much better. Was looking for a rare limited availability vehicle and was told all dealers that did have this vehicle were on a "do not call list". I was assured they could get there hands on this vehicle. Signed the agreement and gave the deposit. Then told it may have to be ordered...I had my doubts about production due to Covid. So I searched and found the vehicle myself and I'm glad I did!

SAVED THOUSANDS!!! (Hence the comment regarding questionable sales tactics)

Asked for my deposit back...got accosted by the manager telling me they have the right to keep it! Ya...I get it. Ended up settling in half because I wanted out and the ordeal other with. But still doesn't sit quite right.

BAD business in my opinion. My business at Clarington Toyota...DONE...indefinitely in BOTH sales and service. Hope it was worth keeping the $1k in lost revenue for doing nothing. Very unfortunate.

Take your time, business and hard earned money elsewhere where your business is appreciated. If you don't, Clarington Toyota will happily take as much as they can get and MORE and then...MORE. Like turn you upside down until ALL your hard earned money falls out of your pockets.

I want to sincerely thank Kevin D. Bazak and Rida Haider for their help at Clarington Toyota! It's an ALL STAR TEAM DOWN THERE!!! Ever since high school I've wanted to own a manual transmission Honda, so when I saw this 2012 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L with only 15,000 KM I immediately booked a test drive. Upon arrival, all COVID-19 protocols were implemented resulting in a safe & satisfying car purchase experience. My information was documented, there was hand sanitizer and personal protective equipment such as desk shields in the entire dealership. Very responsible and safe! After inspecting the car, I confirmed it was in MINT condition. Not one door ding, hood chip or even minor swirl mark on the car! ZERO rust on the car/wheel wells which is a common Honda problem for older cars. $14,500 is a STEAL! Being a Realtor, and a natural salesman myself, I STILL managed to negotiate the price through a cash purchase! When I went to pick up the car today, it was freshly detailed as if it came straight out of the Honda factory in America. Yes, this isn't a Toyota - but Kevin and Rida reflect the highest degree of sales professionalism in the car industry. The new vehicle sales manager James Collins (good guy) was even nice enough to provide information on how contact the folks at AutoVIN for my 2017 Mini Cooper S convertible lease return in June. The funny thing is, the total cost of the 4 year lease for the Mini is almost 2 and a half times the cost of my used car purchase, but more than 5 times less reliable haha! I've had the engine power "cut off" during a freeway trip, and returned it to the dealer to have them "re-program" the engine when the car had less than 40,000 kms. When it gets cold (-5 or colder) - the screen doesn't turn on. Oil changes at the dealership cost $200 -__-" I can't wait to return the Mini and start driving my Accord. You know what they say, lease European and buy Japanese (technically Japanese/North American). Attention all Clarington Toyota employees, if you ever need to buy or sell your home - I will provide all of you a special rebate. Thank you for your essential service during this difficult time. In March I waited for 3 hours for my tire change, then they came and told me I needed 4 new tires. I really believe they lost my tires, ended up paying $841.05. Went in today, October 18, they recommended 3 other things that should be done, I turned down two of them. When I went to pay, they said that all 3 things had been done, I refused to pay for the 2 I did not agree to, bill redone, but does not show the items that were redone without my permission. Presume they will try to sell it again in the spring when I go for my next tire change. At my age, really unable to change due to the fact that my tires are stored there as well. Since March I have done less than 1200km.

Went in for a regular service with extended warranty which covers the service. Was recommended about brake inspection and told that it would cost 175. Said no. But when done with service was asked for about 400 change payment for general service and brake inspection. Point 1. Gave my vin number still was charged for the free service that I have and was given an excuse by the service desk saying I did not check it etc (I don’t understand why it happens but was not ok)... 2. Doing a service( brake inspection) that was not even asked for and charging. Excuse was you have said yes and tried to back it up saying it’s for your safety. Sounded like they tried to get my money. But the service manager was good enough to waive to charges considering the situation. (I think it is because it was verbal and they did not provide me any work order that will be performed upfront etc..) GOOD THAT I ASKED
The person who took my order seemed to did not give a damn and was arguing that I said yes for the extra service. If that’s the case I would not be surprised when they ask me to pay the bill unless I am an evil person or tried to lie.
End of the story.
1. Should not have charged for the free service (See lack Service. Will never go back again for sure nor recommend. Did services in other place and was never unhappy. In fact was pleased every time at other centres. One in Regina and barrie so far. Both were above and beyond and was impressed but not this place$$0
2. Was kind of ok as it was waived but felt sad when they started blaming that it was my fault. Should have even paid if they were nice. (Front desk guy don’t remember the name was not helpful at all)

About a week ago I purchased all season tires and rims for my Toyota Prius. Also breaks and oil were needed. The sales guy ordered my tires and rims and I brought my Toyota to Toyota. Toyota then calls me while they are working on my car to say that the tire lugs that came with my Toyota can’t be used with the new rims that I bought from Toyota for my Toyota. The associate on the phone instructed me that it will be an additional $48 for the new lugs. I mistakingly agreed to the charge.

When I inspected the new lugs later that day, you can easily see that these lugs could be purchased at Home Depot for $0.25.

I understand that the associate that ordered my tires made a mistake. I’m okay with that. The problem is that while my car was being worked on (the bill is already at $2700) Toyota calls me to charge an additional $48 for what cost Toyota about $4. Terrible customer service choice made by Toyota.

Even if the lugs cost Toyota $48 they need to eat that cost. Instead, failures happened by multiple people. Regardless of who those people are, the failure is Toyota’s!

I would expect this level of service from Mr. Lube and not Toyota where I brought my Toyota to be worked on by Toyota. I have no reason to return.

PS. I love my Prius.

I do not normally review business but this experience needed to be share. I was looking for a reliable Truck. Adam Kennedy was so helpful from the beginning within the transaction of my first Toyota. Adam used efficiently the technology to provide me pertinent information about the Tundra. From live video, car fax and Toyota services history of the truck paired with it's product knowledge. Dealer price was competitive. I was in confidence and well informed so I finally triggered. Good decision! I drove to Clarington Toyota from Ottawa. No disappointment. Smooth and professional transaction. Plus the Dealer decided to proceed with a rust prevention service before delivery at no cost and I received the truck full of gas at my front door. I even had a hat. : ) Great Dealer, great staff, great product. I needed to share my experience. Recommended ! Definitely a 5 star.

You’re better off using Canadian tire to service your car then here. Horrible service department, 3 times I brought my 2018 Camry in 3 times I had to return because it was not put back together completely, the last time I brought it in I left it for 7 day for a wind noise, when I went to pick it up, from far you could see The paint was chipped and door and fender no longer lined up & A large bolt from my car rolling around the floor, there was also 500 km were put on my car. I understand test driving, but this seems like someone used it for the week as their as a daily driver. The service manager couldn’t do anything he had to wait for the sales manager who was on vacation (this was during Christmas). A Couple days later I bring it back and show the sales manager the lines and he couldn’t do nothing had to wait for another manager , Never once did a manager reach out to me.
However my sales agent Pearl Rogers was excellent in communicating with me and trying to get the managers to take responsibility for the damage, I sent pics of the damage and 5 dates in February that worked for me to bring the vehicle in for touch up and realignment of the panels. No response as of yet.
As for the large bolt rolling around the floor, the service advisor, Steve just picked it up off the floor pretended it never happened, didn’t have a tech look at it to confirm my car is in fact all in tack. For these reasons I will never service my car here again, the service department is very unprofessional. Clearly there are no quality checks being done on cars before they leave.

I contacted Matt at Clarington Toyota, and informed him of the situation. Clarington
Toyota had no obligation to help with the problem, but Matt took the steps to make it right and resolve the problem.

Clarington Toyota has shown me that they do care about their customers, even years after the initial sale. I will definitely be returning in the future to purchase another Tundra and I would highly reccomend their dealership if you are considering purchasing a new or used Toyota.

An amazing dealership! My dad had his eyes set on the Toyota Corolla. Everyone is really friendly and we never felt like they were trying to upsell anything. We first sat with Kevin, who right away gave us a good quote to start. He was honest and gave us advice about shopping around to try and get the best deal.

We went to Pickering and Whitby Toyota and was completely disappointed by their customer service and sales tactics, we decided to head back here and purchase our car. Clarington Toyota was able to match the deal that we got from the other dealership and was extremely accommodating to us. We dealt with John when we came back as Kevin was on vacation. John was so nice! He offered to come in on his days off to work on the paperwork just so that my Dad could get his car earlier. We met with Tina from Finance as well and she walked us through the different warranties. She too was extremely upfront and didn’t upsell us any packages that weren’t advantageous.

When we went to pick up the car, John was generously thorough with going through the features of the new car. He even went through the driver’s manual and bookmarked the important items for us! Such a warm, family owned dealership with exceptional customer service. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a car and looking for an honest deal!

Garage located on Baseline west. South of Dairy Queen. West of Bowmanville Ave and east of Green road . Informed me about recalls on vehicles . All recalls completed in a polite manner. Saved me money by suggesting pipe be welded at an after market garage . Which I had done , that garage said the dealer was ok. Having 2 cars saves on wear and maintenance . If you have a partner and they are using one car, you will still have wheels.

Bought 2005 and 2010 corollas at this dealer . Happy with both purchases . Both cars still operating well.
I highly recommend these cars.

Cars have not always been serviced at this location but due to cirmcumstances more then poor service. . Buy a corolla , great car .

Hostile, Ill-humoured, and Immoral behaviour by Clarington Toyota Service Department
For the first time trying the service section of Clarington Toyota just to change the oil of my 14 months old truck and faced such a resentful reception, shop foreman and some other staff in service department. My truck was abused and I hope nothing goes wrong in near future with it. The receptionist was extremely unfriendly and hostile and after arguing with me ran away inside hiding and she didn’t show up as long as I was there. My experience of yesterday was that there is no respect and value for customer and absolutely do not recommend this Toyota service section to anyone. If you have value for your car and don’t expect to be insulted, DON’T GO THERE!

Service center is a blatant rip off. Parts and labour for brakes quoted at $800. I can order a borderline track ready slotted and drilled rotor set with carbon ceramic pads for $400. Generic OE is $250 shipped taxes in for the full set. I have been recommending this dealership to friends and clients... not anymore. I'd expect dealerships to tack on a bit more but this is blatant thievery. Completely disgusted.

To answer your question the car is under my wife who wished to remained unnamed.

What you quoted was for brakes front and rear, and a brake fluid flush. Your service manager said the brakes were destroyed, and had to be replaced. The fluid flush made sense and needed to be done. After taking it to a local shop and had it inspected by an ASE master tech, the brakes had 40% life, were in decent shape, and the fluid flush was completed for 1/4 of your quoted price.

Your service manager almost managed to con my wife out of $800 plus taxes for work that didn't even need to be completed, that is disgusting, and is far and beyond any horrid business practices I've yet to come across in my life thus far. As stated I was happy with your dealership, until you tried to rip us off. I'll gladly share this information with friends and family so they can avoid the same.

Horrible service. Small dealership. Service department is small with extremely bad customer service. Excessive charges. They performed services not needed on both my cars. New problems appeared on both the cars after taking it here. Took one car back to them and they wouldn't even look at it. Told me they are booked solid for one month. I asked to talk to service manager, they said he is off for next 5 days and that I should come back later. I took my car to another bigger Toyota dealership after for evaluation and they advised Clarington Toyota had performed incorrect service on the car and caused damage to rotors and breakpads on 1 year old car.

I have a service scheduled appointment to have some work done with my car: tire swap from winter to all season tires, oil change and routine vehicle check. When I called to set up an appointment I specifically asked how long it will take them to complete the job and I was told that it will take approximately 2 hours. My appointment was scheduled at 8:45am and my husband brought my car on time, someone asked my husband what time he needs the car and my husband out of the goodness of his heart didn’t specify a time and told the guy “can you please call me once it is done”. My husband expected that the work will start once he dropped it off at the scheduled time.

I was done work at 3:45pm(please note this is 7 hours later), I was wondering why we haven’t received any call from them so I called the service department to follow-up and was in shock to hear from them that they haven’t even started the work on my car. Of course I was so upset and instead of apologizing they were giving excuses and even blaming my husband for not specifying the time he needs the car. This is the third time I brought my car for a service and never had problem until this happened. I was told that their policy is that they will start working on your car if you set a certain time for pick up, I want to know since when did this policy take effect. I’ve never heard of this before. What’s the point of the scheduled appointment if they don’t work on your car when you take it in, instead, they will prioritize the cars that were given pick up times. Is this even fair for customers. So why waste our time calling to setup an appointment for car service, maybe we should just bring our car any time with no appointment needed.

I have nothing but good things to say about Clarington Toyota. I was actually on the verge of getting rid of my husband's camry due to all of the trouble we were having with several other Toyota locations, but Clarington saved the day. I even ended up buying a new car from them (and will continue to do so). All of the service and sales staff are wonderful and try to make your visit the best, every time! It's truly a family vibe going there. I'm not that tall, and yet my seat is always the way I left it after a service (you have no idea how happy that makes me). Best part? They're dog friendly!!

Rip off...Over charge so bad. Everytime I get a quote, it always end up double the price elsewhere.
What good is customer loyalty? None!
The only positive of a dealer is when you want to buy a new car. After that, dealership prices are garbage and a rip off. Go elsewhere and save your money.

Hi all. I recently purchased a new car from Clarington Toyota. I dealt with three sales people that work for the dealership Evan, Ken and Tina who all helped my wife and I while we looked at a variety of Toyota vehicles both new and used. They were knowledgeable, quick to respond to questions and concerns but were not pushy like many of the other dealerships we visited. The sales manager I believe his name is Mike(sorry if I am mistaken) made sure that he was involved and aware of how we were being treated while in the dealership. I feel that Clarington Toyota and its staff treated us fairly and worked with us to find the right vehicle for our growing family. I would recommend them to anyone who would ask.
