I had an excellent experience at Toyota on the Trail, and my sales person Jay was hands down the BEST to work with. From my initial inquiry, I let him know that, up to that point with other dealerships, my car shopping had been an extremely stressful experience, and he put me right at ease with him saying that that’s not the way he approached sales, and he stayed true to his word. This was my first time buying from a dealership, and I was exploring makes and models that I liked best and that would suit my family’s needs. Despite knowing I was shopping around, Jay never once pressured me. If I had a question or specific request, he always went above and beyond to meet those needs. My 3 kids had the opportunity to meet Jay on one of the test drives, and I was very impressed that he greeted them with a handshake and a big smile. During the test drive, he was very relaxed, and said pretend he’s not there, but was happy to respond to any questions I had about the vehicle and it’s features. When I said I was still considering other vehicles and I said I’d be in touch, he impressed me by simply waiting for me to contact him which wasn’t for a few more days. He was happy to communicate with me via text, as I wasn’t often available for calls during working hours. Finally, when I didn’t quite understand how the math I worked out to finance didn’t match their numbers, he slowed down and took the time to explain and show it to me AND to work with me to get to a number I’d be happy with. I cannot say enough great things about Jay! He is a rare gem, and I have no doubt he is going places because he has client interaction and understanding client needs including motivating factors down to a T. I really enjoyed working with him and will always recommend Jay at Toyota on the Trail to anyone and everyone who asks!

It’s been just a month since my husband and I bought our new vehicle RA4 hybrid at “Toyota on the Trail” I picked up 15th May with a full tank. We drove it almost a month. I refilled it last week at 850km. This vehicle runs very quietly without noise and economical. We thank “HARRY” who recommended this vehicle persistently. He was the best person that we were looking for like very honest and trustworthy sales person. My experience with Mark was fantastic. I originally went in looking for something different. He showed me a few options I may be interested in, but when it wasn't what I wanted, Mark was kind & gracious. After some thought, I decided to go back and check out the 4runner Mark showed me, I fell in love! If Mark had been an aggressive, pushy person who no longer wanted to serve me because I didn't see what I wanted, I would have never returned. Thank goodness he was not. This is the reason i went back! Mark was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with me. He walked me through everything carefully and continued to ask if I had any questions. The Absolute Worst Toyota Dealer

I drove from Sundre, Alberta to Edmonton based on a purchased 4 Runner which I had paid a deposit for already. I did have a trade in a Ford Escape however when I got there they attempted to lie to me regarding the condition of my Ford Escape stating the rack and pinion was shot. Its a 2014 Ford Escape, the rack and pinion is electronic and would of required a scope to determine, which they did not use. In addition stated my brakes were shot on my vehicle, only I had just had those completed and could provide all R&M on the vehicle with ease. The R&M wasn't even an option to be reviewed.

I stated no problem, I will keep my Ford Escape and take it home, its no longer part of this purchase. I will pay whatever price you intended to give me for the trade in and purchase the 4 Runner I put the deposit down on today and I will manage to get both vehicles home. Then I was told no the sale is not possible now because it was based on the trade in?

I never did ever see the vehicle I intended to purchase, I wasn't given that option. They told me now that they were not selling me the 4 Runner (brand new) because I wasn't happy?? I had to laugh at the ridiculousness of this situation. It was pathetic and not anywhere close to what I deem as customer service.

My Ford Escape, when I got it home, I had it completely checked out and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my vehicle. I decided to keep my Ford Escape and purchase elsewhere and write this review. This Toyota Dealer is not reputable, I would avoid this dealership like the plague.

I purchased at South Pointe Toyota in Calgary and my experience was amazing. When I phoned Toyota Canada, they didn't seem to have much they could do as the dealerships are owned privately again I feel Toyota Canada may want to have a hand in poor, underhanded Toyota Dealerships. Toyota on the Trail is terrible!!

Got my 2019 Subaru Ascent from them. Staff were quite courteous, even though the wait time was a bit higher due to the Boxing Day pressure. Bushra Gizaw was the sales advisor who was extremely professional from the word go and did go out of his way to assist me in locking a decent deal on the SUV with Halal Financing. Danielle, the finance manager, stayed back with me late in finalizing the deal with comprehensive warranty on it.

Overall, a commendable experience and would recommend going to this dealership if you are looking for a brand new or a certified pre owned.

The first thing is that they are selling there cars with extra go auto benifits doesnt matter u want it or not.
I paid 2600 dollars more on the original price for my corolla
Second i asked them for window tints it still has bubbles in it
When i asked them they say this would go with time
Its been three months already
Lastly this dealership opens at 7:30 AM
And they gave me an appointment at 7 AM for first service today
When i asked them they had a word SORRY
and after service they gave my car as it is
Just gave a water splash and returned it…
Not even the front glass was clean when i got it back
I have all photos at the time of exit from the dealership
I really dont want anyone to fall into there trap
Please donot trust this dealership.

Warning! Misogynistic employees who LIE!

Went in to test drive 2 vehicles advertised online for sale. Went in without an appointment and sat down with a sales person who right off told me that both vehicles needed significant work. I said I still wanted to drive the vehicles. He came back with all these numbers on the sheet and I once again had to say I wanted to drive the vehicles.

It was then he told me that he was not going to bring out the 4Runner because “it’s only for a man who knows how to fix it”. He then said that the vehicle was not being sold anymore and that they were going to sell it in the auction. I asked why it was online then with a listed price and was lied and told that “the inspection was just done today”. Well Reg, the inspection papers have determined that it was a lie since they are dated Aug 22nd,2022. 2 days later and the ad is still online.

During the test drive Reg stayed silent, not saying a single word. Most awkward interaction ever. Would not recommend this dealership to ANYONE unless you are a man who can fix things or apparently not be a petite black woman who the salesperson won’t spend the time of day to show anything to.

I also loved how I was able to browse different vehicles with not having felt pressured to buy and make a decision right away that day, which I have felt from other salesman at other dealerships. Salesperson: 1.3stars barely saw him when i was there. Never replied to me after i got the car when they got the wrong part.
Financial person: 4.4 stars Alexandra was great to talk to.
Technicians: 2.75 stars Make sure the car is actually safe next time. That everything works (lights, cigarettelighter). Could've mentioned that the front rotors were rusty and the brakes pulsates. And Diagnos the problem better. The AWC message is on. They thought it was a button that causedthe issue. But it's the ayc/acd pump that is the problem.

It's been almost a year but here my review of this place. So purchased a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The price for it was okay. I sent them an email as to wanted to finance the car and it was pretty straight forward. I asked that they do a good inspection on the car. The sales person, Billy, tells me the tires aren't the greatest. I am from Ottawa. I had to drive 3500km. I asked him if they would change. He tries to reassure me that it will be fine. "Sure"... they did not want to. Anyway i get there still had to wait 2h to be able to speak with someone to go through the process of them giving me the keys. Even though i had an appointment. I was there 30 minutes before the appointment. When it came to speak with the finance person. Everything went fine. Obviously they tried to sell me extra warranty and stuff. But i said no. I gave her my reasons and it ended there. Signed the papers and left with a big smile on my face and a 291hp 2L AWD turbo car. Come to my surprise when i get on the highway and all the plastic underneath was dragging. So went to buy so tie wraps. Use the sketchy scissor jack and secered em all. 1h30 on the highway i notice the car is louder. I thought i was dreaming cause it was 12am. Few minutes later a loud metallic noise is dragging on the asphalt and i see spark in the rear view mirror. Pull over on the gravel. And i see the exhaust is on the ground. Someone did not tighten th bolts. I am a automotive technician. I was able to hold the exhaust up with the rest of the tie wraps and get to Saskatoon. If it was anyone else. They would have had to pay a few hundred dollars to get a tow and fix it. But i came prepared. I Brought a lot of tools from work. Was able to do something about it. Still had to spend a couple hundreds of dollars for a small floor jack and some hardware to hold the exhaust up. Cigarette lighter was working either. Thankfully it was just a fuse. And some bulbs were burned. You'd think they'd make sure the car was safe. 2 days later there's a rainstorm. The tires couldn't handle it. I hydroplaned a few times but i was able to maintain control. Kept driving i past the the storm and was able to set camp before the storm came back with vengeance. After those hiccups. The car was great all trip. I tried contacting Billy because they sent me a part that they thought would resolve the issue with the AWC system and it didn't. Hope he would help me with getting the right part. But he never got back to me. So i gave up on him.

We bought a car this winter and were initially impressed with the whole process at Toyota on the trail. The vehicle was in impeccable condition and bought it because of its size and room for our second child. However, as the warm weather has started it’s become very clear that it was a smokers vehicle and the smell had been masked for sale. It was never mentioned to us during our talks about the vehicle history so as you can imagine has come as an extremely unwelcome surprise especially with a brand new baby riding in the vehicle. Had it been mentioned we would have either expected a price reduction or we would have explored the other vehicle that we were also looking at. Obviously it wasn’t mentioned as they wanted the max amount possible from us. I have emailed with no response from the dealership.

The deal was smooth, but we are out of town buyers, during the closing phase of the purchase they had said they can GIVE us an in transit permit which is require to get the car to our home province, it’s worth 20 bucks from a registry, they said during selling of warranties when we inquired about the in transit permit “oh we can give you that” which I thought implying it’s freely given as a gesture of good will. After we handed over the check for the car, they said great it will be an extra 50 dollars for the in transit permit. So “give” doesn’t imply it’s free then, hmm. Kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth as you go make another trip to the registry and stand in another line to get this permit for 20 instead of 50 at the dealership, then back again to the dealership for the car.

Avoid at all costs. I was interested in a vehicle here but the sales team was extremely pushy, untrustworthy and unable to explain any questions clearly. The salesman told me that the interest rates were variable rates and continued to explain why they were variable and not fixed. Then several minutes later a manager came and said they were fixed rates all of a sudden. They were unable to explain or show me a schedule of how the payments were broken up in terms of interest vs. principle. Later on I wanted to have another look at the vehicle so I texted the salesperson to see if it was still available before I made a 45 minute drive to the dealership to have another look and he said it was available. When I got there another salesperson sat down with me and confirmed again it was still available so I took another test drive and discussed some more details. I offered to pay the exact asking price which is listed on their website and then the manager came and told me the vehicle just sold today at an auction. Even though it was clearly available before I made the decision to make the drive into the dealership. Several days later a friend of mine was also interested in the same vehicle which was magically still available and actually wasn't sold like the manager said it was.

Be wary of the staff lying to their customers to get the best deal for themselves and do not agree to their financing terms unless you know every detail of the agreement.

I will never come here again nor recommend this dealership to anyone.

They won’t refund the $1000 deposit. They are happy to talk about factory delivering a vehicle, but when it won’t arrive on time, they will hold the deposit.

Sales communicated different terms than Management. Do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere.

Toyota on the Trail provided the poorest customer experience I’ve had to date - but hey, at least they have the $1000!

I don’t usually go to dealerships to get an oil change or service but, this is my second time coming here. Absolutely phenomenal, this place is top tier service. Devan and the staff were amazing.
He worked with me rather than against like other dealerships have in the past..
I didn’t book online correctly (my fault lol) but he had me in right away and went out of his way to make the process easy and efficient. Also was super informative with what needed to be done. Definitely helped a girl out!!

best cars in the world but how hard is it to show your price online? is it a secret? i have to give my info then wonder why i am getting calls to have my windows replaced or furnace cleaned. just simply display your price. do i want to wait for a sales person just to hear a price when you could have simply displayed it in your add. just as easy to show price than to say call for pricing!!!

There aren't enough words that I can use to explain how incredible this dealership is. Firstly, Raymond the Sales Manager is INCREDIBLE. I have had brutally difficult situations with other dealerships, and Raymond has restored my faith in dealerships again. Specifically Toyota on the Trail. Both myself and my boyfriend have had very positive experiences here. He just bought a car and we thought it would be impossible... but they worked all day and even after they closed tonight, and got him approved. If you get treated like this what’s the point to over pay to a big dealer. Just go to a small one, same level of education but at least fair price

Went to Toyota on the trail initially wanting to buy a black corolla hatchback but was told that it was going into the showroom and they marked the price up $14000. But thankfully Won helped me find a white hatchback in the exact spec I was looking for. He was nothing but helpful and didn't try to push sales on me. Wow what can we say. We purchased a 2014 Toyota Rav4 and had the greatest salesperson with Ashlee Dreger. She is so personable, very informative, very helpful and very patient and always there when had additional questions and also very accommodating. She is not pushy and phoney like other car dealerships sale people have been to us in the pasts. She provided us with excellent customer service. It was a pleasure dealing with her and we would recommend her to friends family anyone. Then we had the pleasure of dealing with Craig Selby who too gave us excellent customer service. He too is very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and he gave us the best value on for our trade in. So now after dealing with these two great people we now get turned over to Finance. Now we have the pleasure of dealing with Deepinder Singh. Deep too is very friendly, helpful, accommodating and quite funny. He answered any questions we had and he figured out options that were best suited for our needs. Again excellent customer service. Then when our vehicle was ready we dealt with Daryll Baltazar for the signing of our contract who again provided excellent customer service. He answered any additional questions we had and made the final process very easy. In a nut shell Sun Toyota provided Extraordinary Customer Service from start to finish.
