Overall my experience with Barrie Subaru was horrific, and I would never recommend anyone buy a car from them. They are dishonest, dismissive, and do not have their customers best interest in mind. I am very disgusted that I had to seek legal counsel for their dealership to acknowledge the damages their employees inflicted on my car, and equally disgusted that they think that lying to a customer is acceptable. Barrie Subaru and Dave Morrison (their used car sales manager) took an experience that was supposed to be exciting and happy and turned it into an utter nightmare for me. I am now left with a car I do not want, and a car that I have no idea what they actually did to it as they refused to disclose what actually happened to my car at their dealership. I will never buy another Subaru in my life because of the way I was treated by Barrie Subaru

This is the story of my experience with Barrie Subaru:

I bought a Subaru Impreza from them on November 22nd, when I picked up the car the following Saturday there were damages on my car that were not their before. There were two cracks in the front bumper, and a big scrape down the side of my car. I texted my salesperson and informed him I did not want the car, and would be wanting to take it back. He said bring the car in Monday we will see what we can do. I brought the car in, they acknowledged someone from their service department had done the damages, and they would "see what they could do" after that they started playing games, and I sought legal counsel. When my lawyer tried to interact with Dave he would play games, and not return to emails and phone calls. He stated that the damages were on the car when I bought it and they were not fixing them. Finally after we showed proof that the damages were not on the car via pictures I had of the car the day I bought it the agreed to fix the damages.

Overall their dealership made buying a car from them a traumatic, and horrific experience and I will never purchase a Subaru again because of this disgusting display of customer

I bought an Outback at Barrie Subaru with Kevin Fletcher as my sales rep. Kevin was an excellent help and didn't use any pressure tactics etc that I've experienced at other dealerships in the past. He genuinely wanted me to get exactly what I needed. On the day of the sale, Kevin made certain to get it back to the mechanics there at the dealership and expedited a small sensor fix for me. I'd recommend this dealership and Kevin Fletcher for certain. And the car? It's fantastic!

I have had many positive experiences with Barrie Subaru. When other dealers wanted to play games negotiating a price to get a deal done, Brian in sales made a very fair offer and did not waste my time. His knowledge was exceptional, and he even delivered the car to my house in person in the middle of a pandemic, with the utmost professionalism and took the precautions to make my family feel safe and comfortable.

After the pandemic, I bought accessories and parts here from
Turner, who has been exceptionally helpful in arranging them to be added to a service appointment or shipped.

I also had a hitch installed here. Joe in service was amazing at coordinating my service, and Steve in the garage did an absolutely beautiful job one the hitch, wiring, and accessories. No shortcuts, no compromises, and with useful tips about which fuses to replace if you back too far into the water with a boat.

I would absolutely recommend this dealer, they are one of the best I have ever dealt with.

I bought a used vehicle from Paul and am very very happy with the purchase. Prior to taking the vehicle, he did a great job ensuring the car would be in it's best condition on pickup. It was the best priced for year/km/condition so I didn't have to waste much time checking out similar vehicles around the GTA that were slightly more. Buying the vehicle was easy and everyone involved was friendly and helpful. The only downside was I had to go to a service Ontario to return my old plates because they got the wrong sticker year but Paul did offer to credit me for the mistake before I did so.

I bought my 2018 Forester in January this past winter. I brought it in to have a wheel lug replaced. I can say that Jake, the gentlemen in the service department took great care of us. I can say he went above and beyond my expectations. He is efficient and very prompt with getting back to me re. supplemental information.

There is another young Technician/Mechanic there as well who has taken the time on a few occasions to show me additional functionality regarding my Subaru.

I am very happy with the welcoming and positive atmosphere at Barrie Subaru, This is true whether it is the showroom floor, the sales process and, as mentioned above the service department.

We are the happy owners of "Two" Barrie Subaru vehicles and we plan to stay that way.

Chose to get a towing hitch fitted by main dealership for peace of mind with a B service it cost $1336. Driving car home heard vibrating noise, when I got home I looked under the rear of car to discover a total of 8 plastic press button type connectors missing. This level of workmanship is totally unacceptable, and my concern is if they can’t be bothered putting parts back that are visible what did they miss that’s covered up.
I have emailed the dealership tonight with photos and will follow up this review on how they make this right, if they actually do.

Service department sure is friendly enough, but could be more effective. Don't seem to respect your time. Had car in for winter tire exchange, fix HVAC fan, oil change and a service recall -- all done and that's great. But, I had also pointed out a problem with the driver's door lock not working consistently with the key fob -- sometimes it won't lock (which you don't always realize until you get back to the car) and sometimes it won't unlock, so you have to try to use the key or go in through the passenger side door. My daughter noticed this too when using the car the other day. I was given the "our service people couldn't replicate the problem" explanation. Therefore it's not a problem I guess...I asked how to rectify and was told when it happens again, bring it in... Anyway, after getting home, it took about 3 minutes of effort on Google to determine it's most likely the "actuator" for the lock on that door. So I will now have to waste more time going back to the dealer and get them to 1. acknowledge the problem and 2. fix the problem. I think that a door not locking or unlocking properly is a fairly important problem, especially the driver's door.

Just want to say it is great to be greeted by customer conscious service advisers. Chelsea has been my contact on most of the visits with my 2015 Legacy and she deals with my needs and questions professionally and efficiently. Also need to acknowledge Joe's cheery and helpful nature and offer of hot chocolate or coffee today. However, I am surprised that since the customer sitting area is close to the showroom and sales, that never has one of the sales reps ever taken the time to say hello or just a friendly greeting or smile or offer to be of assistance. I will definitely come to service my car here, but would probably shop around for my next purchase of my next Subaru as no warm and fuzzy from showroom staff. I had a pretty major failure (shaft bearing) which, unfortunately, required a new engine. They took my vehicle in quickly, ordered the necessary parts and did the repairs below cost expectations. Although the process took over a week, they provided a loaner car at no extra charge which minimized the day-to-day inconvenience. If I could give this a zero star I would! The reason for my 1 star is simply because of the lady named Sabine . I called this morning to get some information for my husband, we recently got a joint bank account and are in the works of getting stuff like our cars switched over to come out of this account. I called to see how we go about this. Sabine was very ignorant on the phone. She was more worried about a phone call coming in from an insurance company then trying to help me get information. Her response was “ I don’t know exactly what you have to do so try calling Toyota credit” I said are you sure I need to call them because I really don’t want to have to be calling around. So if you could make sure that’s who we need to deal with that would be great. She then has the audacity to say “I have a more important call coming in so talk to Lauren” then forwards me to some random person. Whom I’d like to mention, NEVER returned my call. I called Sabine back to get her name because at this point I was appalled with the disrespect that has came from her. She never cared, her response back to me was “well since I was trying to help you, I then had to go running from phone to phone to be able to take the very important insurance call”. Like WHAT.... This is extremely unfortunate because I love my husbands crosstrek and was thinking of giving my Mustang back to Ford and switching over to Subaru since we had such great service when we got the vehicle. Not a fat chance now!!!! I will be in contact with Subaru Canada regarding this issue with Sabine. NOT IMPRESSED. The person who answers the phone is the face of the company because they are the first one you deal with.. Sabine is taking away from the face of Subaru Barrie. It’s very unfortunate you have someone like that working for you!

I had a wonderful experience purchasing my 2019 Impreza from Barrie Subaru! I was looking for a specific colour, towards the end of the model year, and was told by all other Subaru dealerships I'd contacted that it was no longer available. Paul Santaera, the sales consultant I dealt with here in Barrie, did some digging and secured one from the last lot being shipped to Canada. He also offered me a fair price, and didn't try to up-sell or pressure me at any point. Communication was a breeze - emails were responded to very quickly by both Paul and Lauren McOuat, the financial services manager. Pick-up was also very smooth, and Ian Ross was very helpful in showing the cars functions.

I had my car serviced and overall not to happy. They were good about dropping me off and picking me up, but no updates were provided through out the day then when you pick up the car it is a list of what was wrong and when they can have it back to fix it. If I am going 2 hours out of my way to get the car to the dealership, I want to at least have the option to get the repair done on the same day and not have to bring it back again.

I bought my 2013 impreza at Barrie Subaru during the summer of 2017, since then I have brought my car there for all oil changes and winter tire rotations. They have done an excellent job taking care of my vehicle. The service advisor Chelsea has notified me of anything out of the ordinary and has always explained the nature of the problem. They have noticed nails in my tires, blown headlights and even a weak battery. Recently I brought my car in for the valve springs recall. During the time of booking I was advised to change my spark plugs as well, since my car is around 115 000 km. They explained that during the recall fix the engine would be completely removed from the car. So I could get two birds with one stone and save myself from paying more labour by changing them another time. The fact that I was told this meant a lot to me because I already knew it’s time consuming to change the plugs on a Subaru. When I finally delivered the car Chelsea was quick with the paperwork for the rental vehicle. During that time they even warmed it up for me. I highly recommend bringing your car for service at Barrie Subaru because of the friendly staff and quick repairs. If that doesn’t interest you... the popcorn is free :)

This was the first time I've purchased from Barrie Subaru. Our experience with Kevin, our salesperson, was fantastic. Right from the start my wife and I felt like we were dealing with an honest and straight forward guy. He took the time to look over the used car with us, helped us by discussing anything we should watch for, and even took the time to show is the service records for the vehicle. He first took us out for a drive to show off some great features of the car and then was more than happy to let us drive the car alone so that we felt no pressure from him. We ended up signing a deal later that day with him.

Upon pickup of the car, we find that they had fully detailed, waxed and touched up the paint on stone chips. Even more, they gave us a full tank of gas. Before leaving, we noticed that there was a stone chip in the windshield. We didn't believe it to be there from when we signed the paperwork. After a few emails and quick phone calls, Kevin told us that the dealership would replace the windshield because they knew it was important to us. I've been blown away by the way this dealer takes care of it's clients and I know where I'll be visiting when we decide to replace our second vehicle!

My old beat up rust bucket needed to be replaced immediately (not drivable), fortunately my ideal car opened up coincidentally at Barrie Subaru. I drove up there and was admittedly skiddish and nervous about purchasing from past experiences when buying a used car, but despite my apprehension the staff here was very helpful and in the end sold me my ideal ride. The car has been driven with no faults for a month and is in very good shape, I am pleased with the deal.

I will mention that they met my request to quickly turn around the paperwork, financing and inspections to meet a tight deadline because I was borrowing a car to get me by in the meantime. I believe the car was "bought" (financing needed to be done) on a Saturday, and I drove off the lot Wednesday morning. Very helpful, thank you for that Subaru of Barrie! That wins you a great review on google.

I am writing to let you know how pleased I am with my new Subaru Impreza. I have had the car for 2 days now and cannot believe how much fun it is to drive!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for providing such an amazing experience for me and my wife. My wife Sarah is already familiar with your dealership, but I was still surprised at how welcome she was made when we arrived to purchase my car. Each staff member there took a moment to great us and make sure we were well taken care of. Within minutes there were several of us around the customer service desk chatting away.

Bob especially went out of his way to make my car buying experience a stress free one. Despite being at another dealership, Bob took the time to stay on the phone with my wife to help find the best deal for us. Even after we decided to go with the other dealership, and then changed our minds again, Bob called my wife from his house to assure us he would make himself available the next day, even though it was his day off.

Throughout the entire negations, Bob was fair, clear, and did his best to ensure both my wife and I were not just satisfied with our deal, but comfortable and happy as well.
