Tried to buy a car here, but they made it way too painful. One of the sales managers was obviously manipulative and made my skin crawl. The salesman himself was OK, but with such a bad mentor, he ended up giving my a lot of long winded blahdy blah about how they couldn't bargain on price.

Finally I made them an offer, and they played a sleazy trick: they said they accepted my offer, but really they hadn't. They would only give me a car that was on the lot that they expected me to pay $300 more than the offer they said they accepted. I guess they were hoping that I'd be so excited by my offer being "accepted" that I'd just go with the flow.

Really unethical. Stay away.

PS: same request went through smoothly with Tom at Barrhaven Mazda, provided more info than I asked. and the annual service is cheaper than kanata Mazda.

PS2:was thinking about change two two stars becuz last oil change and contact was fine with Kanata Mazda and don’t want to give one star just becuz of an rude service guy. But from what I heard from barrhaven Mazda, Kanata Mazda is charging more than what Mazda suggested. 1 Star and bye. Be careful if you want to do more than an oil change with them.

This is an extremely late review (probably over a year) but I remember distinctly that I had an issue with my 2015 Mazda 3 Gt Bose speakers which were making a rattling sound on the right door speaker when the bass was turned up.

I went in to get it checked and was told my speakers were blown out and needed to replace the pair for $600+tax!! I refused, went home and looked up my issue online.

Turns out it is a common problem with this generation of Mazda 3s. Basically rain water slips through the window when its opens and slides down into the speaker area and rots the plastic around the speaker, loosens the fit and causes a rattle. All I needed to do was take off the inner door panel and use super glue around the speaker so it doesn't come off anymore and boom, rattle gone.

I am certain the mechanics didn't actually inspect or investigate what my issue was and instead decided to use my ignorance as an opportunity to make more money. I'd be surprised if this was the first time they had someone come in with this issue as it is apparently very common so they probably knew exactly what was wrong with my speakers and yet still wanted to take my money!

This is a clear example of dishonest business practice. Stay away from this location!

Bought my Mazda3 from this location. Went in to get my first oil change. Customer service was friendly. Dropped off the keys and got my car back about 30 mins later.
I knew for a fact my washer fluid was probably low but it was checked off as "good" on the diagnostic sheet.
No surprise, my washer fluid light came on a week after.
It's really not a huge deal, I have my own fluid at home. However, it just shows how cheap dealerships can be. Especially when places like mr Lube will top up your fluids for free.

In response to Sales Manager comment asking for a reason behind the 3 star rating: My wife was in a car accident and we were stuck looking for a replacement car. We absolutely love Mazda so we targeted these dealerships specifically across Ottawa. Our goal was to buy 'used' which limited our options to whatever each dealership had on it's lot at the time. The sales representative we got representing your specific dealership was unbelievably arrogant and unhelpful. We found him very unprofessional and when he continued to press on us 'to buy' when we made it clear we weren't interested in any of the cars he kept focusing on. We explained our situation (the same one explained above). We also stated that we were looking for something with less mileage and in better shape then the 2 cars he was able to point out. His response was "All cars within the age we were looking for looked like 'this' (~pointing at the same car we already made clear we weren't interested in)". It was a collection of both his arrogance and lack of empathy in understanding of our situation along with his pure desire to make a sale 'now'.... That and his need to shove his car knowledge down our throat and dictating that ... 'no - this car IS really what you want'... well... it was just toxic. There were no cars that had our attention, so we left. I left a Google Review on every dealership we visited that day. Honestly 3 stars isn't that bad of a review; i have no doubt had we had a different salesperson that day, the review would have been higher.

I am female and am therefor wary of going to dealerships alone after the experience I had at this dealership.
I did go to this dealership to test drive a car. They didn't get me into the car I asked for (CX3) but instead put me in the model lower (Mazda 3 Coupe). I actually loved the car but that's not the point. They then proceeded to try and get me to pay as much as they could get asking me what I could afford and then setting the low bar right at that price point. Do they think people can't do math? They had me at paying my maximum amount for the lowest option model coupe of the Mazda 3. They didn't show me any real quotes but seemed to be making up amounts on the spot. I really feel as if they were trying to cheat me.
I did get out of there and immediately checked to confirm that the price they were quoting me was what I would pay for the sport model at one option level higher.
Another thing I should mention is that when I asked about the 1000 rebate that they had advertised the salesman said that would depend and it would be only a portion of that amount. ???? what?
Stay Away From This Dealership!! They're dishonest and prey on women.
I did end up getting a Mazda from Carling Mazda and am so happy I did!!!

I come to Kanata Mazda because it's close to where I live. I did not buy my Mazda here so I cannot say about their sales service but there service department is disgraceful, I have never had an oil change that didn't take over an hour to complete. I constantly have early morning appointments to start my day they have never brought my vehicle in on time. I always wait on them. My last appointment was 8:30am Feb 16 2016 and it's currently 9:10 am and my vehicle hasn't even been brought into the shop. Disrespectful to the customers time and schedule. I am switching my service to a different dealership
