Car Servicing

Took car in on 3/9/18 for a parts replacement that was a result of the check engine light coming on. Car had no issues besides check engine light when I dropped it off. When I picked up the car - the blinkers on the car were completely malfunctioning and the heating system was completely broken (wouldn’t blow air).

Amazingly, Nicole had the audacity to try and charge me a diagnostic fee to figure out what was wrong with the car.

Nicole had put no notes about it in their system and her attitude was very accusatory towards me in the morning when we spoke. She did not respond to my email to her the next day, even tho she told me she’d be working then.

Unfortunately, this is yet another negative experience I’ve had at Landmark Mazda over more than 2.5 year span since I got my 2016 CX-5 from them.

It’s had been the biggest waste of time dealing with this location.

I strongly advise against ever getting a Mazda or taking your car in for repairs at Landmark Mazda.

We were thrilled with the service at Landmark. Sarah was knowledgeable and easy to deal with. There was absolutely no pressure, which had been a real problem at other dealerships. Sarah was able to work with our wants, needs and budget very well.

The sales manager, Alberto, was able to give us a very reasonable amount on our trade in, and Kirk, the finance manager, was able to process the paperwork very quickly.

I came here and dealt with Sarah and the manager Alberto for my Mazda CX-30. I will say that no dealership is perfect. However, out of the 5 other dealerships I went to, this one was the most natural. My experience with Sarah was friendly and informational. I didn't feel pressured, and she answered all the questions I asked.

It is now 6 months later and every time I have come back (Oil change and car dent) they have been very accommodating. I have never felt unwelcome. :)

Everything was good until that Vietnamese sales came to me.
1. I am fine with people who have accent. But the way he was saying is not acceptable. What I felt is he doesn’t want to talk to me and he only wants to sell a car. Apparently, he was playing his phone before his manager asked him off his wicket.
2. Know your product, don’t tell me to sit down in 1 min after I arrived and you wants to check the computer because I had an easy question. I’m in the store during this dam pandemic to see the real car. Apparently, the manager gave an answer immediately while I caught the manager walking around.
3. We are still under phase 2, please stay social distance or wear a mask. Don’t try to show me something while I was sitting in the car and you are outside, and I don’t even care the number of the size of the screen while I’m looking at it.
4. Have some basic respective behavior. Don’t give me your card, turn your face and rolled your eyes on me before I disappear.

Anyway 2020 Mazda 3 is a good one.
Sorry Landmark Mazda, he is the one ruined everything, disgusting experience.

I want to start by saying that I don't usually enjoy the experience of purchasing a vehicle as I struggle to let my guard down when working with a commission based sales person.

After doing all of the research, I was debating between Honda and Mazda. When I went to a different Mazda dealership, I had the negative experience that I had come to expect... So I phoned Landmark Mazda and spoke with Mike, their Sales Manager.

I explained to Mike what I was looking for - and he gave me a straight, honest answer. He didn't try to get me into the dealership first, as is some tactics that I experienced when I was trying to purchase a vehicle. He just gave me the direct answer to the question that I had.

When I went into the dealership, I really enjoyed that is was a very nice (and not unnecessary large/flashy) showroom. I was able to speak directly with Mike again, get the information that I wanted - he didn't try to upsell me on anything - and I truly did feel like I was given the best price that he could give me.

My wife and I did purchase a 2019 Mazda CX-9 GT from them - and also had a positive experience when we went through purchasing, and when we picked the car up.

This is, hands down, the best vehicle buying experience I have had.

Since I moved to Edmonton I choose this dealer to do maintenance on my Mazda Tribute because of their convenient location, but my last service was a total disappointment:

I had just a routine engine oil change and I was informed that next time I should change the engine oil pan cover because the thread is damaged and could not hold the bolt too tight.....

My question to them was, how this happened? how the thread gets damaged because only you guys did the maintenance for years on this car? No answer of course from them.

Couple weeks back I went on vacation to Kelowna, long drive... Few days after I get there I experienced major oil leaks coming from the drainage bolt.

I took the car to the closest open car service location from my place; Mr. Lube in Kelowna, with the hope to have the bolt tighten up and top up with the right engine oil.

But the pan thread is so badly damaged then they could not re-tight the bolt. My only option was to pay for an engine oil service and have installed a sealing device (instead of bolt) which is good until the next oil change.

Now, I am back in Edmonton and I am looking to replace the engine oil pan cover, gasket and bolt.

I need to find a new Mazda dealer which I can trust and rely on their services. Any suggestions?

It’s a shame I cannot give this dealership 1/2 a star. For the last 16 months (roughly about 4-5 visits) I’ve been taking my Mazda to Landmark for convenience sake, every time I pick up my car I’m disappointed in some way, either they forgot to reset my maintenance options (both service due and oil change due) leaving me to have to research it myself to reset after the fact, resulting in a delay on servicing my car in a timely manner. They do not go over the information found while servicing your vehicle or provide me with ZERO information on the questions posed. I called in to inquire about Apple CarPlay, wasn’t able to provide me with details, I install Apple CarPlay, unable to provide me with details on how to use it, or any helpful information. When I am inquiring on purchasing rims from this dealership because the information found online was unhelpful, the sales MANAGER - Adam directed me, while sitting at his desk (no decency to walk up, stand up at the parts desk where I was standing) to look online (which I already did, but disregarded what I previously said), or browse the 4 models beside me that were on display. At the end of the day, Landmark Mazda does not treat you with the respect or courtesy of a paying customer who works hard for their money, they certainly do not put any effort into customer satisfaction (which is why they attach a letter and be sure they have asked you to only rate them with 5 stars on the Mazda service). I will not ever recommend anyone to purchase, or take a vehicle in for service at Landmark Mazda, unless you’re alright with being treated poorly.

Ok this will be long... so fasten your seatbelt! My wife sold her 2015 CX5 in late June (2019) and she was looking for a new one. Landmark Mazda is the closest Mazda dealer to our location. But we never went there... she test drove with Sundance Mazda & I had a chat with LA Mazda & Stoney Trail Mazda (Calgary) for the deal we were looking for... guess what???!!!
It took Mike (Sales Manager - Landmark Mazda) to give us what we were looking for... within less than 35 minutes!!! I have tried to reach this deal with other dealers & spent hours conversing... no result! no one even came close for a brand new 2019 CX5 GS with Comfort Package!!! Do you really need to know anything else... folks who is reading this... this guy (Mike) is awesome and the entire team who helped us... Kirk, Jake... everyone. If you want a Mazda & if you are living in Alberta please go & see these guys. If you have a reasonable offer I bet you will come out of the dealer with a five inch smile on your face just like me. All I can say that i’m Going back when my own lease is done with Murano next year to get a CX9 coz I drove it & I loved It.

I went in to the service desk for recall maintenance. No big deal. I had no idea they were so close to downtown and was looking forward to seeing if this shop was going to be better than my experience at Park Mazda.

Sadly, this will not be my Mazda service provider of choice.

The gentleman on the phone when I first called in was very friendly and had me booked in for the appointment for today, when I called last week. Easy peezy, right?! I even got a reminder text message on Friday so I didn't forget about Monday's appointment. Two stars for that.

When I walked in this morning, the lady barely looked at me when I walked up to the counter. It was a very somber experience - not friendly at all. Just the facts, ma'am. It was not a welcoming experience, at all. Minus two stars.

They fixed up my car and get me out in a little over an hour, just as they said. And they washed my car, at my request. So, that gets them one more star. Only 3 stars from me for these guys.

As such, I will continue recommending Park Mazda and the team there: they are happy, friendly and welcoming.

Landmark Mazda, I suggest you take a ride out to Sherwood Park and Leduc Mazda so you can learn a thing or two about excellent customer service.

I visited Landmark twice. My first visit for a warranty recall + regular service was great - they were fast, friendly, and reasonably priced for an oil/filter change. So, I brought my car back a second time for a mechanical issue and this is where I ran into problems.

I brought in my Mazda specifically telling the maintenance team that it was not starting and required a boost to get it to the shop. I checked it in, and got a call back shortly after saying the block heater was broken and needed replacing. I agreed to the service and went to pick it up later, after maintenance was done for the day. However, once I returned, it still did not start, and the customer service rep brushed it off as cold weather, got a salesperson to boost me, and sent me on my way. This raised a red flag - if you bring in your car for a service you expect to have the problem remedied.

I called the next day asking them why they sent me home with a dead vehicle, and the person I talked to was not very accommodating, even suggesting that I specifically requested a new block heater and didn't mention the battery. I am illiterate with vehicle maintenance, so I would have zero inclination of what the issue might be - hence why I am bringing it to a dealership. All they did was keep telling me to bring it back in and they would replace the battery for a pretty steep price of more than $200. I was absolutely baffled that they did not even think to check the battery in the first place, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. Sure enough, I brought the old battery to Canadian Tire, had them diagnose it for free and it was completely dead. With a little assistance from Youtube I just replaced the battery myself (for just over $100 I might add) and it started up just fine.

Knowing what I know now, I expected more well-trained staff that would pick up on a rather obvious issue, rather than just slapping in a new part, charging for labour and sending a customer out the door without even testing the vehicle. So, for any future issues I will unfortunately not be returning to Landmark.

Test drove a car and they were trying to rush us into a sale, we were legitimately interested but when we said we were trying to get some numbers before making any decisions, the manager bluntly said "Well I'm trying to sell you a car". This made us think it was in their best interest to just rush the deal / skip past important details like interest rates without real calculations and not give us the courtesy to make a good financial decision, so we walked away and bought elsewhere.

I was happy with the work they did but they recently sent out an advertisement disguised as an email stating that someone wanted to buy my car in an attempt to sell me a new car. This is a scummy practice designed to cost me money (selling a perfectly good, paid off car at their low trade in value and then trying to get me to finance a new car).

The general manager's name was on the email and if this type of deceptive advertising was approved by management, I cannot do business here again.

The email stated that there was a buyer lined up for my car in particular (unlikely) and gave the impression that it would be a favorable deal. It's also targeted directly at me, mentions my car specifically, and is disguised to look like an email chain when it's an advertisement. This letter is clearly a form letter written to be sent out in bulk (use of 'them' instead of he, easy to paste in a name and car model). This isn't a mailer saying "hey, we need cars if you're looking to sell".

He gave me a trade in value for my Jeep that was fair, and ensured that I received all the incentives I qualified for. The finance person wasn’t in that evening, so he let me know that I would receive a call the next day.

The next day, the finance manager Shakil called me and emailed me to let me know that I’d been approved and sent me the options available for extra warranties. He reviewed the options with me and was informative but not pushy.

When I went to pick up my new vehicle, everything was done on time and the sales person Joseph, took the time to explain all the features to me.

Fast forward a couple months, and I had to visit the service department for tire sensors. The person I dealt with in parts was helpful and quick to respond, and Nicole in service made sure it was done for when I was done work.

Landmark Mazda is definitely the only dealership I’ll go to from now on!

I purchased my first ever new car in this location few days ago. No one recommended me to this dealer. I have been surfing the internet for almost 6 months to compare, check reviews, best deals and offer I can get as a first time buyer. I got 2015 Mazda CX 5 colour red. I visited 3 car dealership and I must say that this location exceed my overall customer experience ever!

My salesman is Yaroslav Herman, he is the best guy I ever met in any car dealership. He is very patient, so calm, giving his sales talk without any pressure or not being pushy to me and that helps me to decide wisely. The transaction is so smooth, I did not encounter any problem although I have encountered minor concerns but they fixed it and some issues but still negotiable. I love Mazda brand it’s one of my top choice while making a decision to buy a car. I love my new 2015 CX 5 red its uncompromised features and latest technology they offer along with their cars but the people behind in this great car make Mazda more beautiful and great choice!

I created a list of hundreds of question and the way they responded to me and the way they answered all of those question mark make me important and valued client.

If I will buy my second car I will consider this location again for sure.

I was dealing with Marc, and he was nothing but helpful to me the whole time from beginning to end. We had to set everything up while I was in Fort McMurray and he was in Edmonton.
