I am 67 years old. I bought at least a dozen cars in my life from dealerships. I have never been treated this badly. Selling tactics are truly dishonest. I am first offered a low-balled amount of money on my trade-in and I am lead to believe that they will entertain an offer below the advertised price. I make an offer with a more reasonable trade -in as verified with autotrader and offer a price lower than advertised as I was encouraged to do. They come back with a counter-offer with no reduction in the advertised price. and claim they will give me what I want for my trade-in (which they don't -see below) and then add thousands of dollars for what they call Donnelly protection, some 700$ for the financing paperwork, which I don't need, 50$ for a tank of gas and another 10$ for whatever. Bottom line they still want the full advertised price for the car and MORE. I am told I am given a very good deal because the price of the car was reduced before I came in. Yet, it is advertised everywhere on Auto Trader and on Car Gurus and their own website at the "reduced price". They drag me into their dealership with a price and then expect me to pay more because they reduced the price. That is dishonest, false advetising. When they counter-offered they clearly said over the phone that they were giving me what I wanted for my trade-in and wanted me to come in to finalize the deal. SURPRISE - they were lying or at the least being extremely devious. When I got the details I found out they were still giving me the same low-balled trade-in value but because I would get a tax rebate on that amount they were adding it to their low-balled amount and saying I was getting what I wanted. HOW DUMB DO THEY THINK I AM. I wanted a higher trade-in value in order to benefit from the tax rebate, not to give it back to them - Every honest dealership knows that. They had the nerve to say that is how Donnelly does it, and that verges on dishonesty.

I paid for a "whole shibang" detail package on my Kia Rio and was not impressed at all. A bunch of spots in my car that were missed, and some of those spots could've easily been taken care of with a detail brush. I don't consider myself to be especially particular/picky, but I find the pictures speak for themselves.

I usually get my car cleaned every spring and fall and chose Donnelly Kia this time as a convenient option given the Covid-19 situation right now (drop off and pick up from work), which is great. Jon the service advisor was also great, which is why I gave the 2 stars.

The dealership, as mentioned in other comments, needs to work on their detailing methods.

Overall: disappointed with the job, satisfied with the service.

Edit: had it at three stars but now down to two. Paid about $500 for them to tell me after testing it that my battery was dead and have it replaced... less than a week later, car will not start.

Brought my vehicle in without power, assuming it was battery or perhaps alternator. Turns out it was a dead battery so they just needed to replace it. Sadly this ended up costing me about 3 times more than I could have done it myself (I understand that the cost of the battery through them would be pricey but the labour for the job seemed excessive...). Also asked them to look at a small issue with door handle that they didn’t address .
Staff was polite and easy to communicate with.

Went in looking at a used 2017 Sorrento, and left with a 2020 Sorrento.
Liam lawless was our Sales Rep, he was laid back and easy going.
This guy knows his stuff about the vehicles he sells. There wasn't a single question he had issue answering.
We really enjoyed our car buying experience with this dealership, we had been to many big dealerships and felt very forced into making a decision on the spot, We did not feel that way here.

The staff was amazing. John from the service area was the gentleman who set me up with the sales associate Chris. Both the of them were fantastic to deal with. They both went above and beyond. Chris came to my house to return my drivers license that I forgot at the dealership. John helped me to get a loaner car, information on the options of winter tires and stayed involved throughout the entire purchase. Thank you to the entire Donnelly Kia staff in Kanata. Five stars for the service guys, especially the main guy behind the desk. He's a lovely person, and really seems to care about the customers and other employees just based on well he can translate what a customer says into useful instructions for the mechanics out back, and then translate what the mechanics say back into words that the customers can understand. Just a great way to make a routine service go smoothly, so I hope this guy gets the recognition he deserves. Overall, I have never had a problem getting my car serviced here, and the guy who usually drives the shuttle van has always been a friendly and reliable person, too.

Separate to that, I docked a star because I don't recommend the detailing here. The quality isn't great and it's nothing you couldn't have done elsewhere for less.

Making the best of a terrible situation:

I've had the worst possible luck with my car, and it has been incredibly frustrating with the many issues plaguing my brand new Kia. However, while these issues have originated from the factory, Donnelly Kia has gone above and beyond to ensure we left satisfied and happy. I've been greeted with kind and caring staff in both sales and service in their attempts to address these issues. My experience with Chris and John (sales), and Darryl(service) has been nothing short of exemplary. I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a Kia.

I recently purchased a new vehicle from Donnelly Kia and I couldn't have asked for better service!
I went to a few different dealerships but found that none had the same friendly atmosphere that Donnelly's does.
The salesman I dealt with: Liam, was a very lovely and professional young man and the reason that I chose to purchase a vehicle from Donnelly Kia! He did not pressure me in anyway and patiently answered all my questions. At my request Liam even went so far as to calculate fuel economy differences between my current vehicle and the new one I was considering buying .
After deciding to proceed with the purchase, the Sales Manager Greg, came out to congratulate me and spent time exchanging relaxed friendly conversation while I waited to see the finance manager.
Upon meeting Reg, the finance manager, I was immediately greeted with a smile and made to feel at ease. He patiently explained options and breakdown and then apologized that he was unable to get any answers from the bank that evening due to the late hour. The next day we exchanged a few telephone calls back and forth while he worked to get me the best options available. Again very friendly, patient and professional service!
In summary my experience was a very positive one and the service from the staff was beyond my expectations! I love my vehicle and definitely highly recommend Donnelly Kia!

Donnelly Kia went above and beyond my expectations. I came in with concern about noise coming from my front right tire. They had me take their tech on a test drive so he could experience the exact noise I was worried about. They were able to diagnose the problem within minutes and I had my vehicle serviced right away. I wasn’t there longer than an hour. Great staff, everyone was extremely friendly. The service waiting area had comfortable seating and complimentary coffee!!! Went looking for a used car and sadly the car salesmen and the "manager" lived up to the greasy, slimy, deceitful used car salesmen stereotype.

We asked several times for a breakdown of price, including what they would give us for our car and yet they just kept saying "it fits in your budget, so what's the issue". We had to sit with the finance guy, get a credit run done on our credit and get mad before any actual numbers would be shown.

Then at this time, it became clear that the offer we said "No" to was exactly what they wanted us to sign.

In the end it felt rushed, my husband and I had to get mad, we had done a credit run that if we didn't purchase the car would could reflect s negatively on us.

We left with a car but we arent happy about it. If we could cancel the deal we would. We will not return for any car issues to this dealership.

If your looking to be treated poorly and staff that have little to no work ethics please do stop in to this Kia location.

Customer service does not exist in that building, do not buy an extended warranty with them, they will not honor it nor reimburse you as promised if it is not used. The best deal for a Sportage Ex Premium was actually in Aylmer Kia, where I received a bunch of extras with the vehicle, free of charge. I was leaning to purchase a hybrid vehicle originally, the sales representative could not answer a single question I was asking him. As unprofessional as it gets.

Bought a used vehicle from Terry and had a great sales experience. Although they were not flexible whatsoever on the price, we managed to walk away happy. All was well until about a month later. There is an exhaust leak. We worked with the used sales manager who booked us an appointment to have it brought in and checked. Turns out a replacement exhaust piece was needed. Upon pickup, I was advised that they didn’t have time to get to me so they outsourced the work to Midas. Fine, as long as it was corrected, which it was and the bill was covered under warranty. Now, another two months later, here come the problems. Brakes need work (which were recently done before we bought the vehicle) and there is a loud grinding noise from the rear. This vehicle is clearly a P.O.S lemon. Great. We bought this to have a second reliable vehicle in the household that now has a young toddler. Reliable is not what I would call this. Very disappointed.

Recently visited the "show room" to test drive a car in the class of vehicle we were looking for. The show room is still under construction and is very small, only a single vehicle inside.

When we arrived nobody greeted us, two people sat talking behind a desk. We had to ask if anyone could help us. When a sales person was called up they did not identify themselves by name or ask our names.

The test drive had a lot less conversation about the vehicle than I would have expected. The sales person contradicted themselves several times. Upon arriving back at the dealership the sales person showed us a book of options and then said that it was not this year's book but "we should get the idea". When we asked for a brochure for the car we were told they ran out.

This dealership is like the gong show meets the twilight zone, I would never recommend them for a new car sale.

My vehicle interior was left a mess after serving. Not once, but twice.
After an oil change and warranty inspection, grease smears and black oil boot tread prints on my middle row van seats / on floor / back of front seats when my vehicle was ready for pickup. I didn’t report it. Scrubbed it clean when I got home.
The vehicle went back for the warranty repair. When ready to pick up, once again oil smears on multiple seats middle row and obvious Boot prints on the seats ( where your butt sits ) . I was irritated and did not have the time or patience to clean up their filth again. I reported it politely to their service desk who then apologized and asked for the keys back so I could wait 20-30mins for them to clean the greasy oily interior mess they left for me. The reason for my poor review is because this happened not just once.
Their facility is under loud construction, and parking is extremely limited during this time.
Still that’s no excuse for leaving behind a mess from their services.
Service desk was friendly. Service was done in a reasonable time with call back for pickup.
Just left my vehicle dirty inside twice.

Told me car was still for sale from car gurus- scam till going on...reviews on car gurus said it happened to a few people. Put up a great car with amazing price and sell it. Keep it up on sites for months to get people to go in and look at other vehicles you didn't ask to look at. When I asked, "are you sure it still there" she said ", ya, I'm pretty sure I saw it earlier". Just come in she said and well find something." I insisted she go check as I had a long drive there, she came back and said" I guess you were right, it's sold". Shame on Kia to encourage this type of behavior and dishonest salesmanship. Both of your service was amazing—you've restored my faith in Kia. I never felt so welcomed by a dealer's service center ever before. None of you were condescending. You spoke to me clearly about the issue I was experiencing, and gave me some valuable information about the situation for the car I've come to love. To top of that off; you showed off some cool things a Stinger enthusiast would love.

There will be never enough compliments I can give to express my joy from this interaction. I am beyond happy the fact you spoke to me like a person rather than an unaware/uneducated customer. I look forward to dealing with you guys for anything in the future. :)

To give a bit of context for anyone reading my review (warning, it's a long one); I had my tires changed at a different location besides Kia due to convenience. The owner of the company who changed my tires is well known in Ottawa. Even John knows him! Let's call him D.

After the tires were changed, my TPMS stopped working. At first it said "Drive to Display" to which I assumed it would eventually work since there was no other alerts. I gave D the heads up. A week passed and it still didn't work.

I contacted D with error and they were stumped. He continued to assure me that none of his men damaged the sensor, however things can happen. If they were at fault, D would assist me.

I went to the Kia dealer closer to home (not Donnelly Kia) who said to me "Oh, we don't see any record of a tire change". I let them know it was done professionally elsewhere and explained my issue. They said since they didn't do the work initially, they will be charging me for labor to get them going again. No problem, I'll pay out of pocket to have them re-calibrated.

I picked up my car and they said to me my front left sensor is showing a psi of 0, and the others are working perfectly. He then had me pay $67.80 (tax in) for labor and then flashes me a second invoice for $197 plus tax for labor and a new TPMS. I was surprised and began to panic. He said it can be cracked or broken—they aren't sure yet but it needs to be replaced.

I reached out to D immediately and gave them an opportunity to look at the sensor again. There is no cracks or indication of damage. They invited me in to look as well. I took pictures. They recommend I get a second opinion at Donnelly Kia.

When I got at Donnelly, they were extremely welcoming. Even though it's tire season, they were still willing to help me and have a quick look. Now don't quote me as a reason for them to look at your vehicle without an appointment please! I think they could tell how distraught I was and wanted to help.

Brian told me the sensor isn't displaying anything—not even a 0. He educated me that if the front left (driver side) sensor is malfunctioning, the three other TPMS would not display anything either. He continued and said that his machine to even check them isn't showing the sensor itself. It seems to be an issue with the sensor not transmitting the data.

Brian explained the outcome of the test to John, and John agreed this would fall under a warranty replacement. I will be paying $0. Wow. Yup, I'm never going to the other Kia location again. I'll be dealing with getting my money back, however I could not wait to leave a review from my awesome experience from this location.

Sorry for the long story reader. I can't blame you if you skipped over it. I wanted to share my unfortunate situation with frustration and stress being solved by John and Brian so easily. Big smiles from here, thanks again you two if you happen to read this far too.

In 2010 bought a Rio. Called Donnelly and another dealer for a no-haggle price. Donnelly was upfront by phone about a 2000 rebate from manufacturer. The other dealer did not tell me about it and used it to cover the negotiated "freebies".

Worst Experiences at a Dealership Ever! Bought a used 2011 Kia Sorento from this dealer and had the most rude staff from at that time their sales manager, to a pushy salesman who called me "dear", to a shifty lying financing manager who works for TD Auto right in their show room, pushing their high interest rate car loans, to the ongoing issues with poor mechanics and steering rack replaced and the squeak in my steering is still there, Service Manager Daryl told me I have to live with it! Let's not forget to mention the consistently rude blonde haired woman who worked on service desk who made inappropriate comments upon each visit. I have been there long enough to see many of these people let go, but they still have a few more to go in my opinion. This dealership is only interested vehicles not on warranty this is really where they make their money! They show more interest to fix the problem in servicing my transmission issue now that its off WARRANTY! Tried to work with Jim Lowe GM for Kia Donnelly, he just added more insult to injury, not interested in helping me out at all on an expired issue, that was duly noted on a previous work order. So I'm done with them. I have no confidence in any department of Kia Donnelly. I just want to note I take care of my vehicles extremely well with servicing and overall care. Next stop will be the BBB of Canada and Kia Canada I have only 118K on my SUV! Hence, this review! Don't buy from this dealership and don't buy a Kia!

Received my car in December. Everything was awesome until now. It's now March and this car already needs a tune-up, having what seems to be electrical issues and is eating through gas and oil like no ones business. And it is only a 2013. Sent the sales person an email asking how much it would cost for a tune-up, and have yet to hear back from them. It's almost like they sell you a car, and then you are on your own. It even has a 3 year warranty on it. I guess that means it is good for when they want to deal with you or have a look at it.

I would not return to this dealer. Not a pleasant sales experience with constant upsell and hand off from sales person to another. Bought a 2008 Kia Sedona in 2012 from Donnelly Kia. The engine started fail when the timing chain went in 2016. When i called to inquire about their lifetime engine guarrantee, i was informed that because I had not done all my oil changes at the Dealer, their guarrantee was void. Seems a bit dodgey to me. Oil changes are oil changes so long as they are done on sched. That said, i can't say i miss driving a Kia/Hyundai product, and i certainly don't miss the maintenance bills.

But i will not be back to buy another car from a dealer with such a shady warranty product.

I recently purchased my first car from Donnelly Kia a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer. Overall, it was a very positive experience because of the helpful and friendly service of the Donnelly Kia staff. The sales person who assisted me was Mike. He was very patient with me as I considered my choices of different cars and I did not feel any pressure or intimidation. I could tell that at Donnelly Kia the focus is on providing good service to their customers and helping them find the perfect car. I also really appreciated that a few days after the purchase I received a phone call from Mike to see how I was enjoying my new Lancer. I am really happy with the purchase of my new car and would highly recommend anyone looking for a new car to go to Donnelly Kia.

I personally had a great experience buying my first car from them. I had a terrible experience at Car Canada but as soon as I went to Donnelly's I knew that it would be very different there. From the beginning they have stayed true to their word and everytime I have gone back in with my car since then, everyone has been very helpful, it shows that they really care not only when you are buying the car, but after as well. I dealt with Lee and he was very helpful and determined to make my first car buying experience very exciting and enjoyable. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking to buy or trade in a vehicle.
