Very unfortunate to read these reviews and see what Smiths Falls Hyundai has possibly become. I will say that your staff is always a pleasure to deal with and I know that any unsavvy dealings are the result of "policy" (so they have reiterated quiet a few times) that is coming from the top down.
It is not a crime to make money in business, its expected. But it is concerning when a business gauges its customers, are defensive with its loyal customer base that it inherited.
There are always growing pains in change management and I understand that being in customer service is not always easy. My family and friends have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with this at the dealership. I could detail it here but its a novel I won't subject everyone to.
I do hope for better experiences for customers in the future from a dealership that is an essential part of the community that current management/owners moved into.
Your past loyal customers helped you grow into what Smiths Falls Hyundai became.

Brought my car to this location after hitting a pothole which caused my tire (front passenger) to bubble and my rim to dent. I couldn’t make it to the dealership that I purchased the car from as they’re on Hunt Club and I knew the tire likely wouldn’t make it that far. Since everyone else in town was booked for the weekend, I had no choice but to give them a chance.

At first I was incredibly hopeful although a little curious as to why they were forcing me to buy 2 brand new tires instead of 1 when there was no damage to the other tire and all my tires are less than a year old. However, I agreed to pay for two but asked that my perfect condition tire be placed in my back seat so I would have a spare in case something like this ever happened again.

The lady at the front desk told the service manager and he acknowledged they would make sure I got my tire back. Unfortunately because the rim was damaged I had to leave the car for the long weekend and take a loaner. Upon entering my vehicle there was no tire. When I went back in to ask where it was the mechanic brought me into a room with 15-20 other tires and asked me which one was mine. As if I’d know my tire next to 20 identical tires. My tire should have been placed in my car immediately after it was taken off which is what I asked them to do and they agreed. Funny that now they can’t find it and don’t seem to know where it went.

Then, I get accused of smoking in the vehicle. I am in fact a smoker, which they knew when they lent me the vehicle. So I’m sure this was an easy cash grab for them. HOWEVER, I did not smoke in that vehicle. I even had a friend who was watching my dog bring her home when I would normally pick her up so I wouldn’t get dog hair in it. Why would I smoke in the vehicle but not want dog hair on the seats? They then went as far as to bring a cigarette butt in and place it on the counter. A cigarette butt that I never noticed in the 6 days that I had the vehicle. It also looked like it had been run over and rained on a few times. Funny they didn’t allow me to join them on this tour of the vehicle. For all I know this cigarette butt could have been picked up from their own ashtray conveniently located right beside where the vehicles are dropped off. Also a weird coincidence that the vehicle now needs to be detailed. I’m sure it does considering it belongs to someone else (they left a frantic voicemail that the vehicle be returned by 3pm today as it was previously sold and needing to be back for pickup) and you’ve been loaning it out like a sweater. They just wanted me to pay for it so they wouldn’t have too. They even went so far as to say it smelt like I had just smoked weed implying that I had been driving there from work under the influence. After a constant back and forth of ‘you can’t prove you didn’t but you can’t prove I did’ I agreed to pay for half the charge just to get me out of that building.

This location took advantage of a girl who doesn’t know the difference when it comes to vehicle repairs. They discriminated against me, accused me of driving under the influence, forced me to pay for a detail that they would have had to pay for anyways and they lost or possibly even stole my brand new tire. And to top it all off, my car with the brand new tires, now rattles when I drive it. Something it didn’t do when I brought it to them.

I wish I had read some of these other reviews before bothering to bring my car in. If I had, I would have probably risked the drive to the dealership on Hunt Club - who by the way has given exceptional customer service since the second I walked through their doors (in case anyone’s in the market - Shoutout to Kevin). It’s very clear that in the Smiths Falls location scheming, lying, upcharging and taking advantage of their customers is a common thing.

Tomorrow I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, the OMVIC, and, if my tire isn’t ‘found’ and returned, the police.

Stay as far away as you can, especially if you’re a female.

Our family bought 3 cars from Hyundi between April and June 2024 and initially everything was good up to the point of us getting the cars Two of us were buying our cars through finance and that’s were the problems began
Payments were taken out off our old cars before the garage paid the liens off and I have spent the last 3 months chasing the money to get it returned
3 months later the garage finally take responsibility and agree to cut the cheque
Still waiting to receive it
Then there is the $125 they charge everyone for gas when you buy a new car .When questioning the manager Jason about this amount and only realizing after I buy my car and fill up for the first time my car only takes $65 to fill the tank ! When asked where the rest of my gas goes he casually says it’s there policy and my extra gas goes into someone else’s car that takes more than $125 to fill up ! I’m paying for someone else’s gas !! I asked for a gas card for $60 for the gas I paid for and was quickly shut down
This is standard practice for them and I wonder how many other people have had this money taken and not realized !
This is a policy that needs changing ! If I pay for something I want it !
Would I recommend or return to this garage the answer is No

Bought 3 cars there under old ownership. Service and sales were great then. Under new ownership, sales people are terrible. Pushy, annoying. They drove me out of the dealership they were so annoying and shiesty. Never again am i setting foot there.

UPDATE: i ended up buying a Sonata at Myers Hyundai Kanata. Save yourself a waste of time and go elsewhere.

In November 17th, 2023 I traded 2 vehicles and purchased 1 at Smiths Falls Hyundai (247 Lombard Rd, Ontario). A new plate was provided for my new vehicle.

On May 3rd (Friday), 2024 I received (by Mail) a notice of parking ticket in Longueuil, QC. From one of the cars that I had traded in to the dealership in November.

The offence occurred in December 30th 2023. I no longer owned or had in my possession either of the vehicle.

I quickly contacted the dealership (same day) and they denied the possibility. However, they assured me that they would do some investigation and get back to me.

On Monday the 6th I had heard nothing. I called the dealership and left 1 message to the salesman then spoke to the financial guy. Still no news.

On Tuesday I called again and they admitted that potentially they forgot or were unable to remove the plates (2 vehicles) when they took possession. Agreed to call the buyer and verify the info and get back to me to pay the fine I received ($64.00) (deadline before I actually have to go to court in Longueuil to contest).

On Wednesday we decided to make an appointment with the DMV and go cancel the plate. Due to new process of appointments we had to drive 45 minutes away to be seen on this day.

Both plates were still under my name. The DMV registered them as being missing from this day forward. They are unable to back track to the day of the sale.

The problem is that there is no proof of the trade in as the vehicles are not identified on the trade in and purchase paperwork; just the value of the trade in... If one of these vehicles was used for illegal actions or got involved in a accident...or anything...it would reflect under me and I would be held responsible.

My last contact with the dealership was Monday June 10th...I left the info with the receptionist and neither the salesman or financial officer has called me back. They obviously have no intention of paying the fine following there lack of professionalism, obviously very dishonest. I contacted the head office but they recommend going thru a lawyer...no help at all.

Save yourself some trouble...don't shop there and make sure you always take your plates back. Don't rely on the dealership to do it for you.

I would strongly advise you to steer away from this dealership due to lack of honesty and professionalism.

I had reached out Chyanne regarding a used vehicle at their dealership. After learning asking me my budget, she had recommended a lower price vehicle at $23,500. On multiple occasions, both through verbal and written communication, she had confirmed to me that the price of the vehicle was all in, plus tax and licensing fees. I drove over an hour to test drive the vehicle and put a deposit down with the intent of purchasing and scheduled a time for pick up the following week.

That next day I was sent a price breakdown that included $2000 more additional fees. When I spoke to Stuart, the financial manager over the phone, he mentioned that these included fees for car fax, detailing, gas, admin fees, sales person fees, and accounting fees. When I reminded him that the price was advertised at $23,500, he was quite hostile in that all dealerships add on fees afterwards and I could either take it or leave it. He would not uphold the all in price that was advertised.

I decided to call the General Manager to professionally and kindly explain the situation. He first denied that Chyanne had offered to sell it to me at that price. Then, I directed him to the text messages. After reviewing these, he admitted that she had stated it was all in but that it was a one day deal that he would no longer be honouring. I had then told him that I had a down deposit with the intent and appointment to buy this one day deal. He said he did not care, he was no longer honouring it. I then stated that this was violating OMVIC regulations as the prices advertised must include all fees except for taxes and licensing. He replied with “I am quite close to members of OMVIC, so I am not worried about you complaining.” This to me indicated that, regardless of his actions, his connections would help him.

When you take your car in for service, they try and upsell you thinks you do not want. If you say you do not want the service, they do thing to your car that make noise in the car that was not there before going in. Example they put leaves in my heater fan, because I did not want a $175.00 heater disinfection service.

My parents have been going there for years. They have bought a few cars from there. It was my father that used to bring the car there for fixing or tune ups, but now it's just my mom who doesn't know much about such things. She just trusts them to be do right by her. She recently got 4 all weather tires purchased and installed by them. She asked for a good tire, and they sold her one of the most expensive tires they had for her 2015 hyundai elantra....bridgestone weatherpeaks. So $800 for that. They charged her $260 to install, balance and align. $195 to remove a dead mouse and spray some air freshener or something. They did an oil change, changed the cabin air filter. They checked the tire pressure, battery, and did some lube. For the grand total of $1581.31 with tax. That was about six week ago. Within the last 3 weeks she got two flat tires. Never a problem before. She doesn't take the car out much or far. She went back to them. Got two more of the same tires. Only deal she got was that they didn't charge her for install for the last flat tire she got. I didn't know till after that this happened. She is never going back there. They have lost a valuable customer. We will be taking her where they won't take advantage of my mother's ignorance.

If I could give 10 stars I would! The engine blew on our Tucson and these guys were on top of it from start to finish. They got us a rental immediately and approximately 2 months later (waiting on the new engine from the manufacturer) they got the engine in, noticed there was another issue (aside from the engine) they emergency ordered a part overnight, got that part fixed (which they took the time to get that covered under warranty as well) I got new front rotors and breaks and my vehicle is almost brand new again! Cheyanne (their office administrator) kept us in the loop each step of the way, I'm not sure who the tech(s) was that worked on it, but they did a beautiful job!! A huge thank you to the company for their help! I would 100% recommend them every time!

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!!
I purchased a NEW car from this dealership only to later learn that the car was used. I was still being asked to pay for PDI/freight. When I advised the manager that they shouldn’t be charging PDI for a used car, they reluctantly removed the PDI charge and swapped for a premium paint charge instead. Super shady management.
Fortunately, the salesperson (Tanner) was great to deal with even responding to my messages after hours. He was very apologetic regarding his manager’s misconduct.
I spoke with a OMVIC representative today andI was advised that if my statements are correct, Smiths Falls Hyundai would be in breach of the Consumer Protection Act 2002, for False, Misleading Or Deceptive Representation (Unfair Practice) - Sec. 14 (1) And Sec. 17 (1).
In the end, I decided to not follow through with a formal complaint because as bad as this experience was, I walked away from the deal unharmed and learned a new life lesson.

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP! The great reviews are now a lie and are a reflection of the previous owners. Recent reviews suggest a very different picture. I ordered a Hyundai Tuscon August 4 2022. The price of the vehicle was confirmed in writing by the sales rep Debbie Bradley. The Hyundai factory confirmed the order for delivery. Two months later on October 3 2022, I get an email from Debbie stating the price has increased by $2,856 due to "new management". I politely replied stating my price was confirmed in writing, that this shouldnt be allowed, and asked them to honour the previously confirmed price. Debbie ignored my email, not even an acknowledgement of the message. It has been over a month and still no response. At this point I have given up with this terrible dealership, will be canceling my order and will be looking for a car elsewhere. It is simply devasting as I have lost 3 months for nothing with this dishonest dealership and we just had a newborn therefore really need a car.

Lots of great reviews! But (almost) all refer back to experiences with the previous owners and management. Alas, the exceptional owners sold, and the fabulous management has been replaced. To call these people merely incompetent would be a kindness. And I realize a scathing review might cause someone to lose their job. I can only hope. My new vehicle had options I didn't order, at inflated prices, ($200 wheel nuts) loyalty incentive left off (3X!), $80 tire stewardship (my regular tire supplier charges $4), and an admin fee more than double the amount shown on their website. ($599). Any bright spots? Love the vehicle! And a (very) new guy, Liam, will do well, good attitude and tries hard.

My new Kona is the best chic car ever. Had the Accent, Elantra and Sonata. The Kona has great room and once the friend gets over it not being a Mercedes or Pick up you're in.
Seats fold down level giving lots of room to move around and position yourself and your mate.
On their back, the level is perfect for a head hanging out slightly past the bumper in a farmers field or cozy location. The bumper makes it more comfortable on the back of the neck and head during impact. When you're ready to go to the next level, there is lots of room to flip over and around. Being older this is important so the the rhythm is not broken. There is even a alcove at the back for either left or right handed people. It is a great safety feature for storage of Condoms ready and available.
With this open concept, there is no more wondering if they are going to be pushed into the trunk after. It gives peace of mind.

Being new to this area I was looking to take my 2017 Tucson in for a safety recall. After a terrible experience at Myers Hyundai I went here to have the work done instead.
Well the service was fantastic. After a great experience at check-in my vehicle was taken in right on schedule. Work was done in a timely manner and my vehicle was brought out ready to go, washed and sparkling clean.
This was done while the dealership was under some construction. A comfortable seating trailer was provided as well a large washroom trailer which was cleaner than most grocery store facilities..
Just on this experience this place is a promising place to purchase and have a vehicle serviced.

We were entirely happy with the whole experience of buying a car from the staff in Smiths Falls. We had several relatives who had bought multiple vehicles from them, and we knew we could trust them. There was no pressure, no tricks - just pleasant and competent assistance. The Sonata is a really fabulous car, and the price was reasonable. Honestly, the salesmen here were so condescending and rude. Ended up at a different dealership and bought a car elsewhere. If you want a car and want to be judged on your income, lifestyle, and pretty much anything else, buy here. But if you don't want any of that, I think you could go to any other dealership in Canada and get better service
