I went to Barrhaven Honda just before the new year looking to purchase a 2020 Honda Civic. I was helped by Richard who was very kind and helpful. The first impressions were great and it seemed like we were getting somewhere with the negotiations. We agreed on free winter tires, cosmic blue colour, and tire locks. I was very happy with this and was ready to sign the papers. Interestingly enough I received a lease contract instead of a finance one (weird, a little amateur of a mistake). Then when I was resent the proper paperwork via email, they got my address wrong (again... strange rookie mistake).

After that, I decided it was imperative to sign the paperwork in person to ensure no further mistakes were made. After reviewing the contract, I noticed that I wasn't getting the winter tires free - let alone the colour or the wheel locks. They had sneakily used the 750$ factory rebate that Honda is advertising right now to pay for the winter tires. When confronted, Richard understood the concern and relayed it to the sales manager, Steven MacArthur.

This is when everything quickly broke down. I now understand the stereotype, but Steven came across as a sleazy, narcissistic car salesman. Made condescending comments about what was agreed upon. Quickly disregarded my girlfriend who was asking very relevant questions as if he was too good for us. He also only shook the hands men, and ignored the women completely. Instead of talking with us and coming to a compromise that suited all parties. He seemed visibly upset, blaming Richard's onboarding and training. He pointed fingers everywhere except himself. It was appalling and laughable. My family and I were laughing about the entire experience afterwards, simply ecstatic that Barrhaven Honda didn't get our business.

Please be very careful when you buy a car here! Make sure they aren't telling you something and doing another. Three days later bought a 2020 Civic EX at Kanata Honda with a better price and the exact same package. It was an unbelievably smooth experience.

Me and my wife went looking for a new 2020 Honda HR-V on March 3rd, 2020 and happened to stop in at Barrhaven Honda to ask a few questions. I wasn't looking to buy that night, I was only there as I wanted to see the HR-V up close. I had the pleasure of meeting Kris Mukherjee and he answered all of our questions and was extremely knowledgeable on all the vehicles. We ended up going for a test drive and bought the vehicle that same night! I couldn't have asked for a nicer Sales Consultant than Kris. He never pressured us or tried to talk us into anything. Difficult to get in for service and don’t do express service like other Honda dealers we’ve seen in the past.

But the biggest issue is follow through. We had an a/c problem (intermittently working) and a dashboard light was on. They charged two diagnostics (hundreds of $ each). The dashboard light was for a $50 part, fine but the bigger issue was the ac.

They weren’t able to fix it because it wouldn’t fail (it was a cool day, only fails on warm days) so they said come back within two weeks when it fails and we’ll take a look right away at no charge. They are only open 8-5 so this was challenging but I did manage to get in the next week and the same person was working and told me they wouldn’t be able to look at it for 2 hours and would need the car for a few hours. So now the choice was lose the car for a whole day or come back another time.

In the end we still have the problem we’ve paid them $300 not to fix and wasted countless hours without a vehicle. What’s really frustrating is the lack of follow through. We were told they’d look at it right away and they didn’t make good on that.

Now we’re considering selling the vehicle and moving away from Honda all together.

Simply put ......amazing service department. This dealership is fantastic. Never been treated so well and with such respect by the whole service department team. What a great car service experience.
They do not try to pressure up sell you on extra services. They let you know what is necessary now and what can wait and let you decide. In some cases it is even cheaper than most other garages I've been to.They even took me into the garage and showed me my car up on the hoist and what the issues were. How great is that. They have nothing to hide.

Very honest and very courteous staff. Thomas was great. Josh the other service adviser (I believe that is his name) is also wonderful and polite and took care of us when Tom was busy with another customer. Seems like they have a great team. Thank you both so much . They even rinsed off my car after the service was done. I have never been treated like this before at any other garage.

In about a year from now I will need to replace my car. I now know where to go for my next purchase.

So impressed! Got some AC repairs and service done here and was very happy. The people working at the garage desk were really helpful, patient, and honest. The service was done quickly and was effective. The complimentary car wash was well appreciated. Although I did not use it, they have a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 15 minute drive. Will be coming back to this dealership for service for now on :)

The salesman (Connor MacDonald) was extremely kind, generous, informative, hard-working, knowledgeable & patient, to say the very least. We had an endless stream of questions about the vehicle which we wanted to purchase, but he answered all of our questions in a crystal-clear manner. Bought a new vehicle here about a week ago. Chris L was our sales guy. He went way above and beyond to help us with our purchase. He’s also a pleasant guy to deal with. Low key, no pressure. What impressed me most was his honesty. Clearly the dealership exists to make money. I’m good with that. Chris explained the dealership’s perspective without sugarcoating things. I like that.

Narong the finance guy made the final steps pleasant and with no pressure. In the past we have dealt with the finance people elsewhere where they are very pushy and try to squeeze every last dollar out of you. This definitely wasn’t the case. He suggested we look at things like undercoating and warranty but it was a brief suggestion with zero pressure.
Overall, this buying experience easily earned a 5 star rating. Great job Linda!

Excellent experience dealing with Linda after having read several other positive reviews about her. Low pressure, very calm demeanour; she made sure all my questions were answered and all the numbers were explained. Great communication as well. Would highly recommend her. Also really appreciated Robert as the finance/insurance guy. He explained everything to my satisfaction and again, no pressure.
