Had winter tires changed over in early April 2019 - returned home to take tires out and tailgate won't open - father-in-law who formerly worked for Honda Quality Improve. was able to open it to reveal a crack in the inside cover of tailgate and damage to latch motor. Barrie Honda wouldn't accept responsibility for the damage (had actually had a photo of inside tailgate working taken when loading tires in prior to the changeover) which I was eventually able to show a service advisor. Couldn't get another appointment for 3+ weeks to get it looked at and still had to pay to get it fixed although they damaged it. I had left messages for the Service Mgr. 'Dan' but he wouldn't return calls and refused to speak with me when I was there and he walked away while in the Service Area.
In October 2020, due to failure of the part replaced and tailgate not opening again, I left 3 messages over 3 weeks with Service but never got a call back. So I called Sales and they picked up on the 3rd ring which finally got me to Service only to be told I'd have to pay $129 plus tax for them to "diagnose" it in 3-4 weeks -for something I already know what is wrong - and then needed - to pay for more labour and parts. Instead -I went to Dalt's and it was looked at during an oil change at no extra cost and quoted for the total work (labour, parts, taxes) cheaper than what I'd pay back at Barrie. Service at Dalt's was great! We are 3 generations of Honda owners but will never return to Barrie Honda - will go back to Dalt's now.

Brought my van for timing belt replacement without any other concern, just required on the maintenance. Bring my van back home and noticed fluid where I parked the next morning on the driveway. I returned and they said it is from steering fluid hose and the worst thing they did not admit it is their fault even it resulted argument in their dealership. Be aware of their service dept.

I scheduled an appointment on October 16th to have my Pilot looked at for a wheel bearing issue. The earliest appointment was November 13th. Went into the dealer yesterday to have the car looked at, turns out one of the wheel bearings is bad and will need to be replaced. Apparently no stock on the part at Honda. Service Advisor indicated that they need to order the part, once the part was in they would schedule an appointment to get the work done. Yesterday, on my ride home from picking up my Pilot I received an email from Honda with a 'Scheduled Appointment' for December 16th. This is a delta of two months from the time I booked the initial appointment until the time I have to wait to have it repaired. . Unacceptable to have to wait this long to have any vehicle serviced. On top of this, I called Barrie Honda yesterday before close and left a voice mail with Service indicating my dissatisfaction with the turn around time. I also followed up with an email last night to the Service Manager. Its now almost 7 business hours past my Voicemail and email and I have not heard. This is a serious impact to Brand Recognition for Honda Canada and Barrie Honda.

Stopped in to price a new Ridgeline Touring. Was interested in trading my Toyota Highlander Took a drive with the Ridgeline and the air didn’t work. Was doing a check on the vehicle opened the trunk and a discarded auto part from an old car was in there. The auto rep asks you to sit at a large gathering area out in the open with the rest of the customers. Anyways s about 10 mins later he comes back with a quote for a trade in value. No discount off the MRSP. And basically low balled the value of the trade in by over $ 5,000. Needless to say visit was short. To conclude I’m enjoying my new Ridgeline purchased from another dealer who gave me a fair offer for the trade and a discount off the MRSP. Sorry guys you struck out on this one.

Purchased two new Honda CRV‘s from Barrie Honda. Our sales person Jared Maier was knowledgable and worked with us to get the best price and options to our satisfaction. No pressure just friendly service. We picked up our vehicles yesterday and Jared did his best to make the transaction as smooth as possible considering how much paperwork there was. This was our first experience with Honda and not only Jarret but everyone we worked with was fantastic. Not only does Honda have fantastic products they have a great staff as well.

Terrible experience with this Honda dealership. They are very disorganized and have terrible communication. They blame the customers, and don't take responsibilities for their mistakes. I would stay away, there are better dealerships who actually value your money. We called to inquire about a car and made an appointment only to be told that it was sold after we arrived at the dealership. We made the appointment, and even called coming to the dealership to make sure they had it in stock so we don't waste our time. When we arrived, we were told that it was sold a week before our appointment was even made. We called before the appointment to inquire about the car, after the appointment, and before we left and they lied to us all the way through. When we got to the dealership, we were left waiting for 15 minutes and were only addressed by Luis because he was passing by. There was no one at the front. After speaking to Luis, he tried to blame us, and say that when we inquire about a car, we have to come the same day because it can get sold. Mind you, we made the appointment 2 days ago, and he told us the car was sold more than a week ago. Even if we came on the day we made the appointment, the car would've been sold. It was only then he realized that they made a mistake, and stopped blaming us. We didn't even get an apology.

Maybe next time, instead of misleading customers, double check your information before making customer drive an hour and waste gas and time to visit your dealership. Never again will I come back. Completely untrustworthy, and dishonest. I would've coughed it up as a simple mistake, but 3 phone calls to confirm only to find that it was sold a week ago is no mistake. They simply don't care, and will tell you anything to get you into their dealership or off the phone. Go elsewhere.

Edit: Seems like a generic response from the owner. We did email the GM when Honda emailed us saying " Sorry you missed your appointment". They honestly don't care. How insulting is it to get a generic response from an owner, and getting an automated message from Barrie Honda for "missing your your appointment" after everything that happened. It just shows how much they don't care. GM doesn't reply either. Basically avoid this dealership. Thankfully we didn't buy the car, I can only imagine what kind of service you would receive if you needed support.

We called service department for 5 days, left a message but no reply. We booked service schedule on web, 10:30 in the morning, but the message was that you have to leave it there no promise to finish the same day. We leave 40 minutes out of city, no service to give rid or pick you up, then we were there an hour earlier, left the car, after 4 hours car was the same spot we left. Why they do it on line or book an appointment when they can't stand on their word?
What is use for appointment if they don't have the facility to do the job. For less than an hour work they charge almost $250 before taxes, & one whole day of my time! Who is going to pay for my waste of time there, they better have good management first then advertise their dealership 😠😠

Quinn was so very patient and prompt with my multiple questions and emails prior and after purchasing my Odyssey. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and satisfied with the vehicle I so desperately wanted. He made sure I received the most value for my trade in, offering thousands more for my trade, in comparison to other dealerships. Horrible experience. This dealership is what gives car salesman a bad name. No communication between departments and customers. Blame always put onto another department. Was told the vehicle I purchased would be ready for pick up on multiple different occasions over a 3 week period and it ended up never being ready. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Ended up having to back out of the deal because I just couldn't be lied to anymore or waste my time traveling to the dealership to then be told it still not ready. While picking up my deposit was met with rude comments about how "they actually have the cheque ready and waiting"

Definitely will never mention to anyone to purchase a vehicle from this place.

Set up my appointment for 8am through email as Barrie Honda will not speak on the phone. I told them i will be waiting and wanted to be one of the first cars looked at. The vehicle was scheduled for just regular maintenance. Not a big job. Dropped vehicle off at 745 am day of the appointment. Went for a walk and returned 1 hour 45 min to find my vehicle still parked in the same place. Asked how long until it will be looked at, said we need it for the day we’re really booked up. How about not over book and when someone books a 8 am appointment it means 8 am appointment and not all day. Totally unexceptable. Will now try Bolton Honda

I was interested in the 2020 civic hatchback shown on their current new car inventory on their website, I requested a quote and received a text message about booking an appointment. I proceeded with the booking, then received a voicemail from a sales agent that they double booked me. I texted the customer service number back to reschedule same time next day, proceeded about my business, went to work and then straight to Barrie after work for my appointment only to find I had been double booked again, AND the car I was interested in was not even onsite. I looked at the 2019 hatchback they had on site and mentioned an issue I had with spots on the bumper that appeared to be rust. The sales person straight up said it's not rust because it's a vinyl bumper. Fine, but please tell me what it is... he did not have any explanation other than telling me it would buff out. Overall, I did not enjoy the experience, too many cooks in the kitchen if you ask me.

Service advisor Dan Robson is pleasant and made me feel at ease. He listened to my concerns and followed through on my service.
Service people like Dan Robson just don’t exist anymore in my experience.
I can tell my horror stories of other manufacturers dealerships but I’ll spare the details.
I would highly recommend this dealership. The mechanics clearly take pride in their work as well.

Sales staff are amazing service department is the worst I've ever experienced. heavily front loaded with useless staff that point finger on owners and not enough mechanics. express lube is 2-3 hours of wait, and appointment times are meaningless. 4-6 week wait for an appointment that is an all day event because you time is meaningless. they overbook service appointments. my appointment today is for 1030 that i scheduled 5 weeks ago the service rep said my car won't be in till 430.

Went in to get an oil change and to get winter tires installed. I told service rep that I purchased new wiper blades in September and they were terrible. He told me after inspection that they were fine. They were not!
I went back and went directly to parts, they gave me new ones at no cost. This time I put them on myself, and they are perfect. Tells me that they were never replaced in the first place.
When I went to pick up my car for the oil change/ tire installation and brake maintenance, I was asked by the service rep if I felt shaking in my steering wheel when I applied the brakes. I said that I did not. He then said “Well, we machined them for you, free of cost”. Fine. But, when I looked at my bill it stated:

*Customer requests technician test drive and check for steering wheel and seat shaking when braking after driving for a while. I NEVER SAID THIS!
Due to this and the wiper blades, I will take my business to either Orillia or Newmarket from now on.

I have been a Honda driver since I started driving, never had an issue with my civic until I tried to make a warranty claim for my wheel and rim. I purchased extra warranty coverage for it but what I was told was covered and what was actually covered was apparently different. I was told I was going to receive phone calls and left messages twice with no call back. Had to go into the dealership to check on the status of my claim and the service advisor I was dealing with was incredibly rude. I definitely will not be taking my vehicle here anymore for services or issues.

Booked in for new winter tires on rims a month before Nov 12th. Arrived at the dealer to have the tires put on and was told 2 hrs before they could get the car in. I should have know this would happen. When we purchased our car in the summer from this dealer they told us to come down and pick it up at 5:30 pm. I even called in the morning of the day to assure it would be ready as we had a 30 minute drive. When we arrived we were told they missed the service and that it would be two hours more. They gave us a Tim Horton's card for a coffee. When we came back after an hour we were told again that the work would take longer and ended up giving us a loaner car. We own 4 Honda's and are very happy with the product. If you want to purchase a Honda go to another dealer.

Barrie Honda provides you with empty promises. Making you do Financing (which is a big hit to your credit) before they even have your car when they promise they will have one by the end of the week. Very dissapointed with the service department. Difficult to get through to book appointment and when finally did booked a 730 am appointment so as not to wait three hours like the last time for an oil change and tire rotation. By the time to my husband got there at 730 am he said it was like they were already triple booked as there were already numerous people waiting. for an oil change and to take fix a quick pinched wire from the towing package he didn't get out of their until 1230. I just bought a CRV here myself a couple of months ago and had been warned about Barrie's service department. After two bad experiences put of 2 in Barrie we will likely take our vehicles to another dealership for servicing .

After doing some shopping around at different dealerships in the Barrie area, I decided on a Honda. I dealt with Brent and he was great! He was able to answer all of my questions and concerns, and left me feeling informed and confident about my decision. I will definitely buy from Barrie Honda again, and would highly recommend Brent as a sales rep.
