During an October drive to Penticton from Alberta, I experienced heavy rain. My recently purchased 2015 Honda Fit was long due for new, 3 season tires and I had not yet installed the winters which had come with the private party purchase. Hydroplaning slightly on the drive, I was eager to replace my worn out set before driving home. After phoning around Penticton for my unusually small tire size on a Thursday, I ordered Michelin Defender T & H’s from Penticton Honda at a competitive price. However, at the time I ordered, the garage service manager apologized that they would be unable to install them until the following Tuesday. Since I was driving home on the Sunday, I called around Penticton but could find nowhere to get them installed by Saturday afternoon. With many people switching to winters at the time, every shop was booked solid for days. Understanding my situation, the Hyundai dealership service department,, under the same ownership as (and right next to) the Honda dealer, kindly offered to somehow squeeze me into their super tight schedule before my drive home. When, ironically, only three of my four tires arrived at Honda in time for my Friday Hyundai appointment, the Hyundai service manager agreed to install them so long as I brought in my fourth tire before traveling far. When the fourth tire finally arrived Saturday afternoon, Hyundai was understandably scrambling to meet booked client expectations before closing at 4. Amazingly, Honda’s own service manager offered to personally install the last tire on my rim and place it on my car himself. I truly appreciated his above and beyond support. And I commend the way these two dealerships worked together to treat me exceptionally well in a pinch.

I was dealing with Kirk just before Christmas and my wife and I were looking at a used Toyota Sienna they had on there lot, it looked to be in great shape and it was, but you can never tell until you see it in person. Kirk was not a very pleasant person to deal with at all, but my wife road off her vehicle and we needed a new one, although I did not tell him that.

The vehicle had a past insurance claim due to mice getting into it, apparently it was at Toyota for 2 months where they went through it with a fine tooth comb and replaced the carpet, firewall and anything that needed to be replaced. After agreeing on a price for the vehicle my wife who is pregnant, myself and 2 kids under 3 drove 2 hours away to inspect the van and expected to drive it back to Vernon that same day, that was not the case.

After inspecting the Van that was already started and had all of the doors open just after we got there, I went for a test drive. Straight away I notice a smell coming from the vents which was clearly the smell of a dead rodent that Toyota could not get out of the van after having it for 2 months. Kirk said that he did not smell it because he only drove it from the other side of the lot. While I was test driving the van general manager Julian Smallbone was raving about the van to my wife saying that he just loved driving it. They all clearly new about the bad smell in the vehicle but played dumb about it and wasted my families time. These guys are clearly liars or stupid, one of the two or both.

Do not let the fancy suits fool you. They are not all bad people, just the two gentleman that we dealt with.

Summary: Service department did not help me but also did not charge me not to help me. I don't know how much effort was put in to fix the car during the 5 months they had it, but I do know it wasn't put back together when they asked me to remove it from their lot. Funny, I can't get it to start without the timing belt on either.
Full story: Brought my 2004 Honda Civic to Penticton Honda service department because the car would not start. A week later they call me and say they don't know what's wrong, it could be this it could be that. I say it's a second car I don't need it right away, please try the things you think it might be. 2 months later Honda calls me and says we don't know whats wrong with this Honda. I say please you guys made this thing can't you figure it out? The service advisor is very kind and sympathetic and says he'll ask them to try again. 2 months later the service manager calls me and asks me to remove my "vintage" Honda from his lot. Take what you will from my story but from my point of view, they all may be nice people but they don't know their product. Just parts changers following a book.

Never had an easier time buying a car. Paperwork was already for me when I arrived and I was in and out, with new insurance in less then 60 min. The lowest price I could find and made the drive up from Vancouver worth it. I purchased the 3M paint protection, looks great and was applied flawlessly, also purchased a paint sealer, and I am shocked at how good it is. Even after several rainy days, and yesterday was nice so I used a light pressure washer sitting and just rinsed it off and took a wet cloth and washed it and it came out like new. And even with out the wash, the paint doesn't hold the dirt, it just releases it and makes washing a breeze. Took me less than 7 min rinse and wash, that includes rims and wheels. I highly recommend the dealer paint sealer, or do it yourself with F11 or the better choice The Last Coat, TLC, paint sealer. TLC handles the rain and snow better, or you can let the dealer do it and it works great!

I have been totally blown away by Penticton Honda. I’ve purchased 3 cars and sent people to the dealership and have done all my services there. I was going over my contracts and all the hidden charges they slipped was shocking. Yes it’s incumbent on me to review the contract but I trusted these guys. It was admitted to me by a salesman there that these fees are cash grabs. Example a fee to check for liens. I bought a brand new car off their lot with no trade in and they charged me 114 dollars for a lien check. WTF. I contacted Ryan in finance and we went over the fees. He had excuses and he assured me he would look it to things and get back to me. I haven’t heard from him since. Nice work boys

On Feb 29th of 2012 I purchased a vehicle from Penticton Honda. I was given the option to purchase extended warranty through the dealership. I was told if a claim was not made during the time of the extended warranty( 3 yrs), I would be reimbursed the premium. This sounded too good to be true, so I clarified it three times with the financial services manager. She assured me that the plan worked that way. The previous occurred and when I called to collect my initial premium from the administrator of the plan, I was informed that I did not qualify for the reimbursement because the financial service manager had checked the wrong box. I inquired as to what my recourse was. They informed me that I was to contact the dealership, who informed me that the financial services manager no longer was employed by them and they would not be reimbursing me anything. Last week we were vacationing in the Okanagan when our 2013 Honda Pilot starting running rough. We called the Service Department while on our way to our day trip, and they said they could take our vehicle in right away to see what the problem was. They also offered to shuttle us to our event, and pick us up when we were done. If that wasn't enough, they also assured us there would be a "loaner" vehicle for us to use while on vacation if our Pilot needed more time. They completely delivered on all they promised! At the end of the day, we were still able to enjoy our vacation day-trip, had our vehicle repaired AND weren't charged a dime as it was all on warranty! Thank you - not only for the excellent service, but for the peace of mind! We wish we lived closer to have them service our vehicles all the time!!!! We thought this type of customer service no longer existed - until now!!
