One more poor experience in a long line of poor experiences at Petrie Ford. (To be fair, I have not purchased any of my last 5 Ford vehicles here, primarily just because they haven't had the one I wanted on the lot.)
However, I used to buy parts for my Mustang here and ended up stopping when they started giving me a hard time about a battery warranty.
Today's experience marks the last time I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I have a 2021 F150 with the electronic release tailgate. After picking up groceries today and putting them in the back, I got home and couldn't get the tailgate to release to get my groceries out. I stopped at Petrie, acknowledged I didn't have an appointment and asked if someone could just have a quick look at it. I was told no, they couldn't do that because it could be a huge issue that requires lots of time or parts and they would need to create a work order form before anyone could even look at it or come to talk to me. And that they would be happy to book me in later this week or next week to have a look. Didn't matter that I had fresh food and groceries sitting in there. Considering it was working an hour before, I think it was safe to say it wasn't catastrophically broken. I just needed the courtesy of a Ford professional to come out for 5 min to give me the time of day and humour me by looking at the tailgate. I suppose the moral of the story is owning 5 Fords in the last 10 years means nothing and the message that keeps getting sent to me is that Petrie Ford is doing me a favour anytime they sell me something or deal with me. I stopped at another "location" on the way home where they were only too happy to come out and help me. 2 minutes later, had the tailgate open and I was on my way. Guess I know where I need to go first next time...

Be careful when you take your car off the lot once you do and discover issues they won't do anything about it. Bought a car with no damage once I got it home noticed a huge dent in the back no explanation though. The sales team was great until the sales is closed then they don't care. Take all my service to Braden and theres been alot because I was sold a lemon in my opinion. Just a bit of funny business overall, only deal with James Braden from now on.

Im new to the area, having been away for a number of years. I m a veteran returning to partially retire. When our well loved and well maintained 2008 Ford Edge needed a water pump I was up to my arms in tasks. The service folks took excellent care of our 321,000 km ride which we love very much. The job was completed in a day and worked with my Wifes schedule. The phone work, actual work , and follow up phone call all collaborated to make for an excellent service experience. When we discovered an aberration we talked to the Service Department /Service Manager and things were rapidly corrected. I am very impressed by the Professionalism and hard work of your Service department. We love our Edge and even though it is a 2008 with 321,000 km on it it looks and rides like new. Salman and Hassan were tremendously helpful when we were deciding on our next vehicle. Never having owned a truck before, they took the time to help us weigh out the pros and cons and allowed us to see that there are many available options that make driving a truck very similar to the comfort of a SUV but with all of the hauling and towing advantages. We never felt rushed or pressured which is very much appreciated. When the exact colour and trim package was not readily available on the lot- they searched out exactly what we wanted and made it happen! When picking up our new vehicle they did an excellent and thorough orientation to all of the features, bells and whistles and were able to answer every single question we asked.
We wouldn’t hesitate to deal with either of these professionals again or Petrie Ford- we are very happy with our purchase ( F-150, Lariat) and with the excellent service we have received so far and anticipate the service department will be equally as excellent to deal with for our vehicle maintenance.

My husband made a deal to purchase a used vehicle for me basically by phone since we live 6 hours away. We talked to a sales person who was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately he was going on a vacation and wouldn't be there when we arranged to go. A few days later when we went to pick up the vehicle and did a quick inspection (considering we only seen one photo) we were surprised to find a mouse nest under the hood! More surprising was they hadn't noticed since the vehicle was supposed to be detailed and a oil change done. The vehicle was fairly clean but certainly not detailed!
When we went inside to finish paper work, etc. we were somewhat ignored. My husband had to finally ask if we could talk to someone about it. The woman was ill-mannered and rushed. She said she would email a copy of the ownership the next day. Three days later I hadn't received it so I phoned to ask. Again she was rude and insisted she sent it. I emailed them to bring it to their attention and to show my email address in case it was typed in wrong. I finally received the email addressed "Hey". How unprofessional! She also wrote confrontational comments trying to defend herself. Again, unprofessional!!
I'm glad we live 6 hours away so we don't have to deal with Petrie Ford!
The arrogance we witnessed will definitely hurt their reputation.

Great buying experience with Craig Tyrrell at Petrie Ford. –

Through AutoTRADER.ca I found a 2018 Ford Mustang GT Premium at Petrie Ford. I reached out to Petrie via AutoTRADER and shortly after I received a message from Craig to arrange to check out the car. Two days later upon arrival, he offered me to test drive the car for about ½ hour.

After the test drive he answered all my questions in detail and NOT once did he try to push the sale. He gave me all paperwork belonging to the Mustang. Needless to say I decided to buy the car.

A few days later I picked up the car at Petrie and the Mustang was in mint condition. It is now almost two weeks ago since I got the car and I enjoy every second driving it.

In summary – Craig made buying this car a wonderful experience and I hereby also send a big thank you to his fellow staff members at Petrie Ford. Will definitely consider them for future purchases.

I went to Petrie Ford in May 2019 to see if I can buy a newer car and Scott Fardella was the sales person and Salman was the financing manager that was to help me. A month went by and I heard nothing so I emailed Scott and he responded and told me what information to get and sent it to him and just waited again. Well I got totally ignored and they made me feel like I was not an important customer and was not worth the time to even help. They just dragged it on without ever giving me a straight answer. If I had a choice I would give them no Stars at all! I also filled out an entry form for a free entry for their birthday draw to win a vehicle and Scott told me I had to buy the entry form. I am tired of being treat like I'm not an important customer by car dealerships.

IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I WAS NEVER CONTACTED ABOUT NOT BEING APPROVED FOR FINANCING BY EITHER SCOTT OR SALMAN! THAT IS THE HOLE POINT OF THIS REVIEW. I WAS NEVER TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT BIRTHDAY SALE EITHER. IF I WERE CONTACTED AND TOLD I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET HELP WITH FINANCING I WOULD BE FINE WITH THAT. BUT TO BE TOLD NOTHING AND TOTALLY IGNORED IS JUST THE WORST WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER!!!!!! I WOULD NEVER EVER GO BACK TO PETRIE FORD ESPESCIALLY AFTER BEING TREATED LIKE I WAS A NOBODY. With incidents like what I’m about to describe I’m careful not to lay blame incorrectly, so I will stick to the facts.
Last week I drove my vehicle into service for a routine oil change wearing my prescription sunglasses which I keep in the overhead glasses compartment in the vehicle. Those sunglasses are either on my face with my regular glasses in the compartment, or vice versa since I’m pretty blind without glasses. After picking up my vehicle the sunglasses weren’t there. While my vehicle was in their care someone stole from my vehicle.

I want to give people every opportunity to correct things, and I’ve waited a week, right up until I had a follow up appointment booked with them (I cancelled the appointment). I’ve been there in person to discuss; they said the manager will call me back. I’ve followed up multiple times each time being told the manager will call me back. When I finally did discuss with the manager he pointed out there were no messages from me on his voicemail, like that’s on me when his staff are saying they are relaying him messages. And the manager told me he would call me back, which he didn’t do before my next scheduled appointment.
I would have appreciated if they would put a minimal amount of effort into trying to repair this breach of trust. Instead they created additional frustration.

Update: They said they couldn't see the theft on their cameras so they did nothing.

I inquired about a vehicle. A single email. All I asked was what the price would be if I had it certified in house. They told me that they could not give me that price, I would have to first buy the vehicle. Okay, that's kind of understandable, but come on, you're a dealership. You have the resources to find out the price.

Why is this a one star? They kept emailing me. For weeks. They have ramped up the emails recently. I'm appalled that any sensible person would think that spamming a potential customer is a good way to get their business. Sorry, Petrie Ford. I will never do business with you.

Took my escape to them ( thus wad out of town for me) as had to get a boost so wanted them to check it out, took it in at 9am. I called them at 5pm and it wasn’t even looked at yet. Then they call and say it was the battery do we put in a new one. Thus cost me $300 and, they didn’t even give me my old battery back. Next day back home in Ottawa, it does not start again. I take it to my dealership here, and they found the root cause , which was rear wiper, they fix it and all good. I feel they (Kingston) robbed me and did not care at all about me, terrible experience . I will be lodging a complaint .

I always get my Ford serviced at Petrie Ford. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and always know I am in good hands. Will only have my Escape serviced by this dealership! There is free wi-fi in customer lounge, coffee, tea, water, and treats. There are a variety of magazines to read if you don't want to watch tv.

The customer has to find those minor & major defects and damage themselves, at their own time and expense. Don't waste your time and don't believe anything they say. We came in on a Saturday morning and Ken was supposed to be off but he took all the time we needed with us to look around, test drive a vehicle and run all kinds of payment scenarios. I have purchased 2 vehicles through Petrie over the last few years, each time it has been pleasant and stress free.
Most recently I dealt with Muhammad (Mo), and Salman. They were knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to answer all of my questions.
I test drove a few cars, compared them with competitors with Mo - he wasn't hiding anything from me, he wanted to make sure I was getting the right car for what I needed.
After deciding on a vehicle I was given different finance and payment options, Salman was able to make a great deal even better by working within my budget - again no pressure.
Overall a great buying experience. I have and will continue to recommend Petrie Ford to anyone looking to buy a new or used car.
