I had a really stressful experience at this dealership when purchasing a used car. The salesman sent me a video describing the car as being in "very good condition." I trusted his word, thinking that as a small town dealership, their reputation would be important to them. After agreeing to the purchase after a quick look over and test drive, they said they would keep the car for a few days to "fix" the remaining issues. I noticed a lot of cosmetic damage on the car, which I am not too picky about since it is a used car. There are very deep scratches beginning to rust, three dents on the roof, broken plastic, chips everywhere, and deep scratches on every panel. An auto body shop quoted me $3,000 to fix. In my opinion, this does not qualify as "very good condition." The car is also full of cigarette burns. It was my fault for not mentioning it in the beginning and trusting they would have fixed the obvious issues before delivering the car ... I wish I had taken a deeper look I was just too excited….. When I did get the car back, I realized that it was heavily coated in wax, which concealed the remaining scratches on every panel of the vehicle. They claimed the car was like that before they got it, but still a greasy move. Then I found a busted fog light after they delivered the car, so I had to drive the car back, miss a day of work since I'm over an hour away, and I wasn't offered any gesture of goodwill for the stress and inconvenience. I had to ask the sales manager to fill my car with gas; I'm sure it would never have been offered if I hadn't requested it. One of the technicians described the heat shield as being held on by wires. I wouldn't have minded these issues if they had been disclosed and not concealed or described as something they were not. This is fraudulent and unacceptable. What really bothered me was that I had to constantly check in; if I hadn't, I don't think anything would have been addressed. Honestly was all bizarre to me, I expect a level of professionalism and good salesmanship.
Anyway, Larry kept me entertained while waiting for my fog light repair. He was friendly, and I enjoyed his company. Trish in finance made the whole process smooth and easy.
This was my first time buying from a dealership, and I will never do it again. I do really love my car, I just wish it was handled better. It was a great lesson learned.
Service was terrible. We are from out of province, and had car trouble. We needed an estimate and a timeline for repairs, so we could make arrangements for lodging and work. It was painfully difficult to deal with the service manager. He had promised to call, he couldn't because he was hungry and tired.
He was incredibly indifferent to the situation.
If you need service. Drive as far as you can safely drive.... Save yourself some stress.
They don't seem very keen to fix any non-textbook issues on a brand new car you buy from them.
We stopped in from out of town and they were able to have our recall taken care of same day! We brought in our dogs and we felt so welcomed.
Hey man, lemme tell ya 'bout this Ford dealership in St. Stephen, man. It was like, dang man, I tell ya what, I had a real bad time there. First off, the service was all slow and messed up, man. Took 'em forever just to get my dang truck in there.
And then, when they finally did start workin' on it, they didn't even fix the problem, man! I mean, come on, what's the point of takin' your ride in if they ain't gonna fix it right, you know what I'm sayin'?
And to top it all off, the staff was just plain rude, man. They acted like they didn't wanna be there and like it was a big inconvenience to help me out. I mean, I'm just tryin' to get my dang truck fixed, y'all.
So yeah, man, I wouldn't recommend this Ford dealership in St. Stephen to nobody, man. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to take your ride.
We broke down and not from the area, the folks here went well above and beyond. Was our first experience in NB and they totally saved the day!
We are from BC, after travelling from home we needed an oil change. We called Downy Ford in St. Stephens. The didn’t have any openings but after hearing our circumstances they bent over backwards to get us in. They gave us great customer service.
I bought a 2013 Ford Taurus from here two months ago. Upfront the service was great. But as I soon as I encountered problems with the vehicle (fuel pump is gone and the car won't start) they offer no help whatsoever. I feel like other dealerships would treat their recent customers better than this.
Experienced and very professional staff
4 stars goes to Dan and Greg and customer care reps Bailey and Christina (the only 4 people that have any type of customer service and can deal with, without having to get frustrated or upset at). We’ve had so many issues with our truck ever since we came down last year. However it seems like we’re there every other week or so…and that should not be the case! My husband lets the guys know what the issue is and they tell us something completely different, but then we have to make an appointment to come back and get the issue fixed! For example my husband told the guys that the battery was shot and we needed a new one but the techs said no it’s only the alternator. We’ll what do you know? We had to go back a couple days ago to get our battery replaced because the first alternator from NAPA destroyed our $300+ battery. When they realized that, they put in a used battery. USED!? No. We should’ve been asked or informed about it before we paid for the service. I’m sorry but we’ve spent over $7000 to get this truck FIXED but it doesn’t seem to be the case. DO BETTER FORD!
Always friendly and fast.
Perfect service. Thanks
Still waiting for phone call over a week now

Great, courteous service!
Great place great bunch.
Nice and warm place with friendly mangers
I'd like to thank Matt Stewart with Downey Ford for showing what kind of staff you employ. I recently seen a post where Matt slanders a local non for profit rescue for not getting what he wants. It's clear he doesn't mind ruining his public image and should really look into the definition of "discrimination" as defamation is an unlawful act in Canada. Anyone that goes after a non for profit should be ashamed of themselves. It was fairly easy to find thanks to Matt's facebook page where his wife is the only 5 start review. Shame on you
A few weeks ago I dropped my truck off to have a leveling kit installed and when I called to make the appointment I was told that the 500 downy dollars I was given with the truck would be usable towards it so I dropped the truck off and when I was given the bill it was oh we're sorry they aren't redeemable for a leveling kit so as long as you enjoy being lied to and having it cost you an extra 500 dollars I would definitely recommend downy ford st Stephen but I know I'll never go back
I’m from Alberta. Had problem with my E350 camper. Downey staff could not have been more accommodating, van fixed within 24 hours of first visit, would highly recommend thank you. Jim
