Needed a safety inspection - While booking, I was told it would cost $140-150 (+tax), but could not be provided with exact price. Once on site, Philip, the service manager, was very pleasant and helpful with a few tips, and advised the cost was $120 (+tax). Very clean waiting area with guest wi-fi, TV, vending machine, washroom. Cashier and other employees could have been more customer friendly.

Very impressed with both of my recent experiences at Tubman’s. I had to take my truck in due to stalling... among other issues. I had spend a lot of time tracing and searching but couldn’t diagnose the problem myself. They were able to locate and fix the problem within a few hours. They even found a way to save me a bunch on money on the repair. They could’ve just sold me a new part at full price and it still would’ve fixed it. But I think it showed a lot of integrity, experience and honesty that they came foreword with a better solution. They’re staff is kind and professional.
They also brought to my attention a factory recall on my truck so I set up an appointment and brought it in. They told me it would be a certain amount of time and i got a phone call that they were done in half of that time. I was very happy. I miss when people in service handled themselves this way. I will definitely be back. Happy to have found them.

They treat men differently than women. My mom was told to "figure it out yourself" when she asked how she's going to manage to bring the summer tires over there while our car is in his garage. I called after hearing about this and he said, "no problem I'll just send someone to pick them up, we got trucks here".

I arrived at 820 am to be informed they had not put me in the system and they were booked solid that day!

Went in for an oil change on my 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel. Was told it usually costs more for an oil change for diesel which I already understood and agreed with. I was happy to hear it came with a multipoint inspection. Waited over an hour for the oil change to finish once it was done I was charged about 140 dollars. So far so good!

Except for a couple of things. I brought my car into the used dealership I purchased it from to do some warranty work and they found that my oil drain plug was dripping a lot of oil. Turns out that the Jim Tubman never put back the washer on my oil drain plug and it was dripping a lot. Found out that night that my driveway had a huge oil stain on it too.

As for the multi point inspection, I can assure you that it was just checked off to get it out of the way. Because apparently my “power steering fluid” was checked but funny how Chevrolet Cruzes don’t have power steering and are all electrical steering.

I’ve never gone back there. I drive twice as far to go to another dealership then to deal with Jim Tubman.

Went in at 1 hour before close on a Tuesday night, walked in to not a single employee in the dealership. Walked back out to look around and saw a salesman on the phone, who ignored us as he paced back and forth. We continued outside and headed back inside after a couple minutes, a salesman had appeared and asked us if we needed help. We explained what we were looking for and he hesitantly got us pricing on a truck, without asking any specifics on the trim, packages, engine options etc. We were not even invited to sit at his desk. He gave us a pricing and handed us his business card as in to tell us to please leave him alone. Would not recommend this dealership unless you want to feel like you are bothering the salesman by asking him to do his job.

Called the dealership to get a new truck, went over numbers, trade in, lean on vechile and got a quote and when I went in was a totally different scenario, higher quote and blamed it on me not giving info that is standard to ask, that I totally gave him from the start. When I tried to deal with situation with both sales team and manager it was sucks to be you attitude. Dont like it theres the door pretty much. Even said guess your buying a Ford. And laughed Haha. Bit of a story here: I was looking to buy a custom build. Chevrolet has a website to allow you to do so. I wanted it on a 2018 model and the site was allowing users to set it up. I went to "Myers Orléans Chev Buick GMC" and they told me that it wasn't possible because the factory wasn't making 2018 models anymore so they offered me cars from the lot instead. That was strange to me. There was still one more month before 2019 models were offered plus the website was still allowing users to customize 2018 models. Went back home. A manager (from the Myers dealer) calls me to try to close the sale, I try to negotiate their fees which he said they had the lowest. He didn't budge and even got upset. Told me clients were coming in and to call back later. He calls me home, uses my time and left me hanging? I decided to call other dealers. I talked to David Badham from Jim Tubman Chevrolet and right away without hesitation and any BS he told me that yes, 2018 models were still being made and that the factory was taken custom orders. Their fees were even lower than Myers. Kudos to David Badham from Jim Tubman Chevrolet and FU Myers for trying to lie your way into getting me to buy a car from the lot. I made sure Chevrolet got the story.
David treated me so well that I even bought the extra warranty. After that, they have always gone far and beyond to accommodate me. I had an issue with some of the custom upgrades and they just excelled into how they handle everything. Their mechanic did the impossible, they contacted Chevrolet engineers, the works. Just excellent. Needless to say they will get my continuous business and Myers...well you get this:

Ottawa-Gatineau is a pretty big place with a dozen or so GM dealerships to go to for service. I choose to bring my Chevrolets to Tubman. Here's why:

This dealership may be right in the middle of the city, but it feels like a small town dealership. I've noticed that staff interact with each other like family. Heck when I'm there I feel like I'm treated like family. Another thing I've noticed is that Tubman doesn't have a large turnover of staff like a lot of other big city dealerships. A few months ago I even chatted with a technician who had been there more than 40 years. You know it's a good sign when you see a business that's able to retain its top performers. It says that the management doesn't just think about the bottom line: it's also thinks about the people.

The parts department is surprisingly well stocked. With vehicles as complex as they are today it's good to know that yours can be repaired the day of your visit and not be kept overnight or longer because of a shortage of parts.

I first came to Tubman for preventative maintenance. Jean-Marc had been recommended to me as a former mechanic and as good people. After several years of dealing with him I have concluded that he is also trustworthy. So much so that my wife now goes to see him for service. Anyone who's had their wife / daughter / mother / sister bamboozled by an unscrupulous service advisor will know just how important this is.

But Jean-Marc doesn't work alone. There's a whole team behind him, including Chris, Duncan, Eric, Jim, Terry, Tony and others, making it happen.

That's why I choose to bring my Chevrolets to Tubman.

A note on my experiences with Jim Tubman. When I originally bought my vehicle I was sold an extended warranty that was pitched to me as the same coverage as the 3 years, 60,000KM warranty extended out to 5 years, 100,000KM to match the power train warranty on my Chevrolet Cruze. Aside from overpaying for the vehicle, I figured this was a solid option, especially when pitched as a matching extension for my warranty.

Fast forward 3 years, my vehicle starts having problems. I bring my vehicle to the dealership and there were multiple (yet unrelated) failures. First was some regular warranty covered work, but the service representative told me that my transmission lines were leaking and that was not covered under my power train warranty. Knowing I had extended my bumper-to-bumper warranty and asked if it was covered under that. He acknowledged that it was covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty but I had exceeded my mileage. After a lengthy discussion I was told that the $2000+ extended warranty was useless in this case, and that I was lied to about what it covered.

Further when I inquired about the cause of the damage, I was told corrosion. When pressed, I was told that it was corroded from within the lines. I understand that transmissions need to be serviced, and the Cruze required servicing at 80,000KM and I was around 95,000KM at the time. The dealership, despite them saying they told me it required servicing, had never informed me of this. Beyond the fact they hadn't told me, it's really worrying that 15,000KM was enough to go from a fully functional transmission to one that was dissolving itself. Really unimpressed by the sales team that lied to me, the service team that didn't inform me of recommended maintenance, and of GM for building a product that could fail within 1 cross-Canada road trip. Either way, I paid about $750 for my servicing, and was only compensated one oil change for their failings.

I pick my car up, and it initially seemed like it was running fine. I drove my vehicle out of town for the weekend and it began to lose power at high speeds. Brought it back to the dealership and it turns out their technician had done one of the repairs incorrectly, causing oil to damage some valves and plugs. So after being out of a vehicle for multiple days, being lied to, paying $750 out of pocket for repairs, they couldn't even manage to perform the repair correctly. I am once again out of a vehicle for multiple days while they correct the issues. They offer shuttle service, however they don't offer loaner vehicles when servicing will require multiple days of work.

I can honestly say that this is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with.

I continually get harassed by calls from their sales department. I have asked SEVERAL times to be taken off their list each time they contact me, which is met with a "whaaaaat' and a laugh (just happened now from a guy named Mark I believe). Completely disrespectful and utterly unprofessional. I will never recommend to purchase a car from this dealership if this is how they treat their clients on a continual basis. Which is a shame considering I actually had a pleasant service at one point when my car was taken in for a recall.

I don't even have my POS Saturn anymore. Have received excellent service from the March Group in Bells Corners when I purchased my new car - and they haven't even tried to contact me once to sell me something else!
