I reached out to inquire about purchasing a Cadillac here because I’m from the area, as is most of my family still. Support local and all that.
However, I was told by the dealer principal that the vehicle I was enquiring on was “sold” (which it isn’t) and that I should try buying from my “local” dealer. Well, I’ll tell you one thing - I don’t be buying from here ever. I’ll also recommend to all my family that they never buy from here or get their cars serviced here any more.
And also - I recommend that anyone reading this read all the other one-star reviews that the community has given this place and stay very clear of this dealership.

We have recently moved to Owensound and purchased our truck elsewhere. Last week we called for a free oil change as all chev olds dealers areas are supposed to fulfil these, we were told that we were would be over kilometres we were 23,950 km And told that they were two weeks out in booking. Therefore we would be over kilometres and had to pay when calling back to our dealership they told us this was unconscionable and said that any time we could make it back to them they would give us a free oil change, please note the service department here is horrendous

Go somewhere else. Tried to negotiate a price on a 90 thousand dollar truck. I started with asking for 2k off and a tonneau cover and I’d sign the papers. The dealer’s first response was to ask me if I was drinking and that it was an outrageous offer. The next day was offered a soft tonneau cover and was reminded that I’m getting $1000 off for the military.. which isn’t a bargaining chip it’s something I’ve earned and can acquire anywhere. You guys dropped the ball hard on this one and will certainly lose business beyond just myself.

The story starts like this. Me and the wife were looking for a larger or more comfortable vehicle to haul the kids around. Stopped at hal wrights (2018) looked at a canyon, but was too small. Sticker was around 50 grand. Then the wife eye balls a terrain Denali, but the sales person said that wouldn't fit in the budget ( the price was actually exactly the same). I didnt tell the sales rep what my budget was. So, ended up going to listowel , bought a new 2028 silverado crew cab 4x4 for 40 grand. Service at hal wrights is sketchy. Totally untrustworthy. Had an issue with the transmission, they replaced the torque converter. A few days later, truck would not start. Needed a new starter. I asked if that may have been from the service, but they told me they didn't take the starter off. I'm a car guy. This seemed odd, and later took the truck to Mr transmission to look at the hard shifting and acceleration at random. Asked about the starter, and he said it's impossible to change the converter without removing the starter. I could go on, but I'm done wasting my time on these arrogant folk.

Only got one star because there wasn’t a zero. Hal Wrights dealership is by far one of the least professional local businesses we have ever dealt with. After far to many negative experiences after purchasing our first new vehicle, and returning for recalls with them. I have observed bickering and very low morale amongst employees in service. The result of this has been little to no positive customer care and service. There is no accountability for thier mistakes. There is arrogant behaviour in management positions. Many years in professional positions has taught me that these behaviours come from the top. Their lack of integrity and values goes against the man who actually built this business. Hal Wright. My hope is that the current owner will take these many poor reviews seriously. Be aware of the many many local GM owners who go out of town for purchases and service. AND make the changes that need to happen to make this an establishment they can be proud of.

I have never had any luck dealing at Hal Wright's
I took my car in for service they did or didn't do a $205.00 diagnostic test said rear axle needs total rebuild for estimate $1700.00 plus tax.
Also ask if they could check all fluid level transmission and such.
So I took the same car to a local garage they repaired the rear axle checked all fluid levels and added 1liter to the transmission fluid.
Cost $300.00 plus tax
What would you think of Hal wright
This is not my first time they changed for doing nothing.

Bought a brand new 2021 chevy traverse fully loaded. Staff are all friendly and peachy when they want your money. the second we signed the dotted line, dropped 70K on the vehicle, all service and professionalism went out the window. the brakes all around are completely deflective. we call in and are informed that its a recall and that they don't have anything in stock and they will notify us when stock is in. 1 year later, we get a call, brake replacements are in. we take the vehicle in and pick it up at the end of the day. I read the invoice, 215$ warranty claim for a "pad repair kit" which doesn't fix defective pads and rotors with hardspots. I didn't even get the vehicle home before knowing that the issue had not changed a single bit. I called chevy and to no surprise Brent the "service manager" with his stellar professionalism calls me "buds" and basically tells me off. Great job Brent. So now I still have a 70k brand new vehicle with defective breaks that also lock up, which is concerning considering we purchased this vehicle for our young children. So I will replace the pads and rotors myself out of pocket and send Mr Brent the bill. Avoid this place at all cost. As retired military, I've purchased vehicles coast to coast and never had an issue with a single dealership before, but these guys by far take the cake. Avoid these guys at all cost if purchasing vehicles. Not only will I never deal with them, I will never purchase a chevy product again souly due to this dealership.

Originally bought our Chevy Colorado last year in Listowel but now live near Owen Sound. We put on our snow tires this week and needed to have them wanded to reset the tire pressure readings. Called and was told to come in, no appointment necessary. I dropped in yesterday and was then told it would cost me $10. (Took less than 5 minutes for the guy to do it.)
Went to pay with MasterCard and was told “cash only”, during COVID??? SKETCHY OR WHAT!!! Not sure I’ll be going back there for any future service.

Took my truck in for a few issues. They told me that there was no guarantee it would be ready quickly. Needed doing, so I accepted that. Very efficient booking in and confirmation of my concerns.
Recieved a call later the same day to say that an initial inspection had found the problem, and to advise of the cost ( as I suspected, not cheap but reasonable).
Next day; all good, and I was able to pick up my truck. Very pleased with this service. Saved me a lot of time and inconvenience. Based on this experience I will certainly use this dealership again.
