Quick Look

The 2016 Buick Verano is a now a surprisingly modern and incredibly attractive vehicle, thanks to the latest update. The vehicle hosts a variety of technical gadgets such as a nine-speaker Bose sound system and Buick’s Intellink infotainment and navigation system, however it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality that General Motors has rolled out for the rest of its 2016 lineup. Regardless, the 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower is rated at 13.5 litres per 100 kilometres city and 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres highway, making it one of the more fuel-efficient powertrains in the sport sedan market. This vehicle is perfect for anyone looking to own a refined car with great fuel economy and a comfortable interior cabin.

Full Review

The 2016 Buick Verano holds outward style and fuel-efficient powertrain as its most valuable assets, meaning it is an incredibly attractive option for anyone looking for a good-looking sport sedan. Though the overall vehicle lacks major updates, the new Verano retains its athletic presence and complements it with great fuel economy and a comfortable interior. The 2016 Buick Verano is thus a worthy competitor in the sedan range and absolutely excels in fuel-efficiency and interior amenities.

On the outside of this sleek and stylish 2016 Verano is a slight revamp according to a newly devised platform that is designed to make it look more like the Opel Astra and less like the Chevy Cruz. With a structure that is both widened and lowered as well as sharper headlights, the updated vehicle presents aggressive demeanours, which, coupled with sharp creases over the hood and side-body, create an impression that doesn’t quite feel like Buick. It’s stylish and athletic presentation, however, exceed our expectations. The new Verano further benefits from better airflow and better execution of sharper, more athletic features.

This year’s upgrade likewise features slight improvements and modifications to the vehicles interior in order to enhance comfort for the modern driver. Evidenced throughout the interior core is a great attention to detail and significant consideration for the true meaning of luxury, hosting a variety of wood elements as well as leather seats in higher trims. Though lacking in headroom due to the lowered body structure, the Verano compensates with Buick’s intuitive Intellink infotainment system, embedded in a 7-inch touchscreen display. The system holds navigation capability, as well as optional Wi-Fi hotspot and 4G LTE connectivity. Additional gadgets include dual-zone climate control, nine-speaker Bose audio system, heated front seats and leather wrapped steering wheel. Clearly, Buick has spared no expense in outfitting the 2016 Verano with the latest technical capabilities, making the vehicle newly modern and up-to-date.

In terms of performance, the new Verano’s base model comes with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 180 horsepower and a fuel economy of 13.5 litres per 100 kilometres city and 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres highway. Front-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission are standard, while a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower is alternatively available. Standard safety features include stability and traction control, as well as antilock brakes with brake assist. Driver assistance programs are likewise abundant, including a rear view camera, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot monitoring.

As it stands, the 2016 Buick Verano is an affordable sport sedan that combines a refined exterior profile with an impressively comfortable interior core. For the consumer looking for an overall quality car that both looks good and runs efficiently, this might be the best fit.
